SyfteSyftet med denna uppsats var att genomföra en kvalitativ undersökning kring om KDE kan ersätta Windows XP som användargränssnitt för normalanvändare på en persondator. Vi ville även ta fram de fördelar och nackdelar som KDE har i jämförelse med Windows XP, med eventuella förslag till förbättring.MetodPrimärdata hämtades genom att testa operativsystemet på 25 personer som fick "tänka högt". Detta för att få en anblick om var det kan finnas problem. Även sekundärdata i form av litteratur inom området, tidskrifter, artiklar, rapporter och information från Internet har använts.SlutsatsResultatet visade klart och tydligt att testpersonerna var nöjda med Linux KDE efter det att de testat det men majoriteten skulle ej kunna tänka sig ersätta Windows XP med Linux KDE. Alltså är inte Linux KDE en möjlig ersättare till Windows XP..

Jämförelsen utfördes i fyra laborationsmiljöer bestående av fyra operativsystem: Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2012, Windows 7 ochWindows 8. Sammanlagt har fyra tester utförts: Förstudie, Test 1, Test 2 och Test 3. Förstudien utfördes för att testa nätverksprestanda mellan två datorer. Projektet som denna rapport beskriver hade som målsättning att utveckla två applikationer på beställning av företaget Teknikhuset Umeå. En av dessa applikationer skulle vara till Windows 8 plattformen och den andra till Windows Phone 8 plattformen. Applikationernas syfte var att ge användaren information om högtider från kyrkoåret med hjälp av information hämtad från Svenska Kyrkans kalender API (se Henrik Johanssons rapport).Denna rapport beskriver utformandet av användargrässnitten till dessa två plattformar. Syftet med rapporten är att undersöka hur utvecklaren kan bygga ett optimalt användargränssnitt för respektive plattform och samtidigt undersöka om det finns likheter i dessa två utvecklingsprocesser. Om likheter i utvecklingsprocessen observeras så kommer dessa dokumenteras för att i framtiden kunna effektivisera utvecklingsprocessen för applikationer avsedda för dessa två plattformar.

This report deals with an IT solution for the fictive company, Nexus Consulting. It is a small company with four employees, dealing with economic policy. The company wishes to set up a complete network environment with antivirus, firewall, computers and servers. With Microsoft's new operating system, Windows 8, a new type of applications were introduced, Windows Store Apps. These applications must meet certain requirements in order to be uploaded to Windows own store for apps. There are also guidelines to follow. The requirements and guidelines include appearance and functionality, such as a common search function in the applications to contribute to a more unified experience. The purpose of this master thesis is to investigate different types of measures for making buildings more energy efficient and to estimate their profitability. The calculations were performed with the building simulation program VIP+ and the evaluation of the profitability with the life cycle cost method. Furthermore, it was examined how losses in the distribution of secondary systems of district heating can be avoided. Options to replace district heating with a local district heating system based on bio-energy have been investigated. The possibilities of achieving more efficient thermal energy consumption and production for the chosen estate were also examined.The object of the study has been a residential estate with 133 detached houses in Uppsala, built in 1974.

TV and radio services have always been distributed over analogue broadcasting networks and been received on a TV -set or a radio receiver. Today this situation is changing due to digitalization and convergence between broadcasting, telecommunications and data communications. Other terminals, such as a PC, can also receive TV and radio services. Digital TV and radio can offer additional services such as e-commerce, electronic program guides and content synchronized to the TV and radio shows. If these services are to be received by several receiving terminals with different properties, the services must be adapted to the terminals.

This is a paper about the social services waiting rooms. Our aim with the study has been to:?Describe and problematize the physical environment in social services waiting rooms. A wider purpose is to lift the question about the waiting room as a significant part of peoples encounter with the social services.? To be able to achieve this purpose, we have used two questions: What does the physical waiting room environment look like in social services in Stockholms län? How can we understand and problematize the physical environment factors impact on people who visits these environments? We have observed and photographed ten waiting rooms in ten different social services in Stockholms län.
