I detta examensarbete undersöks frågeställningen hur och varför det motbjudande gestaltas i samtidskonsten. I gestaltningen prövas frågeställningen. Den består av en installation i ett svart målat rum i Vita Havet på Konstfack, som genom att fokusera på kroppsrester och rening gestaltar det motbjudande genom att kontextualisera det. Gestaltningen är beroende av en sinnlig läsning där lukt och ljud blir betydelsebärande. De material som används i installationen är jord, flytande kroppsrester, vatten färgat av svagt jodluktande kaliumpergamanat. Ett från början ursprungligt vitt badkar med badkarsplast som ska skydda emaljen från missfärgning.

Cykeln har på senare år fått en allt större roll inom transportpolitiska sammanhang. Det finns ett intresse att öka användningen av cykel, framförallt av miljö- och hälsoskäl. Därmed finns det också ett intresse för att kartlägga cykelvägar på samma sätt bilvägar är kartlagda. Om Sveriges cykelvägar fanns samlade i en databas skulle utveckling och underhåll förenklas. Det skulle även vara möjligt att ta fram informationstjänster som t.ex.

The research group Soil and Water Management at the department of Soil and Environment at theSwedish University of Agricultural Sciences in Uppsala are studying greenhouse gas emissions fromcultivated peat soils. To measure carbon dioxide emissions from peat soils in the field the researchgroup are now using two portable carbon dioxide meters (Vaisala GMP343). For practical reasons,they plan to acquire a new type of automated field meter. The aim of this study is to evaluate thepresent meters to see how environmental conditions and instrument settings affect the results,which is meant to facilitate the introduction of the new field meter when the meters needs to becompared. As a part of the study the relationship between groundwater level and carbon dioxideemissions from peat soils will be investigated.The evaluation of the two carbon dioxide meters was made by connecting them to one single airtightsystem, with the aim of creating identical measurement environments.

In order to optimize calf welfare and health it is important to know the behavior of cattle in free ranging conditions. When the cow is about to give birth to a calf she will leave the heard about 12 hours before. It is then rather obvious that isolating the cow about calving time in a single pen is imitating the cows? natural behavior. To save space and minimize building cost it?s common that the farmers build calving pens for four of five cows especially at larger farms.

Discharge of inadequately treated waste water containing nutrients such as phosphorus and nitrogen as well as organic matter and bacteria is associated with a risk of eutrophication and contamination. The Swedish government has decided upon several Environmental Quality Objectives aiming to reduce the emissions of nutrients to water bodies.In Sweden, there are between 675 000 to 1 000 000 on-site sewage systems. Recent studies have shown that the function of small sewage treatment plants is in many cases insufficient. To prevent this regular service and supervision by a professional is needed. The focus of this study are small sewage treatment plants which use a technique where mechanical, chemical and/or biological reduction of pollutants is being used in the same facility to reduce nutrients in household wastewater.The aim of the study is to investigate how different municipalities ensure that small sewage treatment plants fulfill the requirements and reduce pollutants as efficient as the manufacturers claim.

The goal of this paper is to find out how solar cells can improve energy efficiency on-board M/S Sydfart. The paper is based on a number of energy measurements on board the M/S Sydfart. The solar surface is calculated by measuring the available space for installing solar panels. Global radiation data is taken from STRÅNG's database, the data is then used to calculate the theoretical power produced by the solar cells. Energy efficiency is analysed in two ways.

Servervirtualisering har blivit en allt vanligare syn inom IT-världen och särskilt för de som har stora serverparker eller för verksamheter som är ute efter att effektivisera och skära ner på sina kostnader. Eftersom att virtualisering tillåter konsolidering av hårdvara leder detta till en lägre energiförbrukning och behovet av stora lokaler minskar. Med servervirtualisering går det att köra samma arbetsbelastning på mindre antal servrar än det behövdes innan bytet till servervirtualisering.Då det kan vara svårt att hålla reda på vad ett virtualiseringssystem har för egenskaper och funktioner har vi i denna studie valt att göra en jämförelse mellan tre marknadsledande hypervisors från: VMware, Microsoft och Citrix. Innan jämförelsen redovisas i studiens tabeller presenteras en övergripande teoridel kring servervirtualisering och sedan en genomgång av de kategorier som ligger i fokus för jämförelsen.Studien kommer också att visa på hur en P2V-migrering går till med två av studiens virtualiseringssystem. En fysisk server med Windows Server 2012 som har webbserverollen installerad migrerades utan problem till en virtuell maskin på respektive virtualiseringssystem.

Det finns inom Vattenfall Eldistribution AB ett intresse att automatisera felsökning i elnätet. Syftet med detta examensarbete är att utreda möjligheten att utplacera feldetektorer i Vänersborgs centrala elnät. Ett förslag på en optimal placering av feldetektorerna utifrån ett tekniskt och ekonomiskt perspektiv presenteras. Den föreslagna placeringen av feldetektorer bygger på det befintliga signalkabelsystems struktur.Signalkabelsystemet för Vänersborgs centralort finns dokumenterat i Vattenfallsdokumentationssystem. Samhällskostnader har beräknats och sammanställts för berörda ledningar.

Lapland Cartest AB driver en omfattande testanläggning i Skeut utanför Arjeplog. Testanläggningen nyttjas för vintertester av Daimler- Chryslerkoncernens fordon. För att följa koncernens målsättning att minska miljöpåverkan men även för att minska kostnaderna utförs denna analys av testanläggningens energianvändning. I denna analys ingår en kartläggning av testanläggningens energianvändning för bruksperioden december 2006 till mars 2007. Baserat på kartläggningen presenteras ett antal förslag på effektiviseringar.

Har riten en djupare mening, ett arv vi bär med oss och känner ett undermedvetet behov av? Kan riten ge oss tröst? Vad har riten för betydelse för oss?I mitt examensarbete har jag undersökt hur vi genom riten reflekterar och knyter an till erfarenheten av att vara människa. Jag har tittat på om riten finns i vår vardag, utan att vi ser den. Kan de olika upprepande och igenkännande handlingar i ett hem ge oss den trygghet som en rit kan ge? Riten kännetecknas genomkontinuitet, igenkänning, tillhörighet och tröst.

A manufacturing machine at the engineering company Sandvik Coromant has a positioning table which task is to move an item linearly. The positioning table has a linear motor capable of high velocity and acceleration. This makes it possible to achieve short cycle times and a more profitable production.The purpose of this thesis is to bring forward a new concept which is more adapted to the requirements of the positioning table. The reason is that the current positioning table provides an unnecessarily positioning accuracy of 0.01 mm, while the requirement for the positioning accuracy is just 0.1 mm. The goal is to reduce manufacturing and component costs.To develop a suitable solution an approach for the concept development process has been performed.

This report is written on commission by WSP Acoustics. The report studies the outdoor sound levels on school yards in Stockholm. The questions given by the company to be answered was what are the actual sound levels at diffrent school yards with low traffic noise and how can you construct a facade element that reduces the sound level from the outside and meet the indoor requirements. Mesurements for four hours was done at eight schools set north and south of the city centre. The measurement period included one school break and one lunch break.

Today there is an increasing market for businesses concerning horses, and since we are already running such establishments we sort of speak already have a finger in the pie. Due tothe increasing competition and demands, new and more practical constructions have become a necessity. In doing this project I wanted to make a comparison between having a stable integrated with a manege and having both constructions kept separate. I wanted to compare different layout and make an estimate of costs to see which solution would be less expensive and better with regard to working environment. I will further also deal with different ventilation-systems andlight transmissions.

The purpose of this project was to evaluate how energy efficiently some of JM?s residential buildings can become in standard production. What kind of measures are needed to achieve the level of energy demand that is included in BBR12 (Boverkets Byggregler)? What measures are needed for achieving a lower demand so that the buildings could be classified as passive houses? The investigation has included a single family house and two different types of apartment blocks.The simulation programs Enorm and VIP+ have been used to calculate the energy demand of the buildings. The results from the programs have been compared with the measured energy demand for the three buildings.

Passive houses are a relatively new concept in Sweden and by that it is meant a house without a traditional heating system. The most acknowledged passive house project is the terrace houses in Lindås, Gothenburg, which we have used as a reference. This project concerns a square apartment block. So far, no square apartment block has been built as a passive house in Sweden.The common opinion in the construction industry is that it is not economical to build extremely energy efficient houses. With Peab as commissioner our task was to investigate if that is true, if regarding the construction of a multi storey house as a passive houseMidroc, now owned by Peab, constructed in the block of Preussen in Jönköping during 2004-2005 four houses, with 132 apartments distributed on seven floors.
