This report will describe a project between two students from Karlstad University and Markus Norström from Hovercraft solutions. The project aim was to develop a cabin for the hovercraft 380TD. The project was divided into two sub parts; one concerning the design of the cabin and one concerning the engineering. Throughout this rapport you can follow the engineering part of the project. The project has followed a systematic product development process resulting in optimized results for material selection and engineering solutions.

Platelet aggregation is a major and common problem in blood samples from cats. This greatly affects the accuracy of counting of the platelets. Because of the difficulties in counting feline platelets, results for patients and reliable reference values for cat platelets are currently so inaccurate as to be almost useless in diagnosis of thrombocytopenia. In this study we used an effective method to prevent platelet aggregation. Blood was collected in CTAD test tubes and prostaglandin E1 was added to the blood sample.

Background. Immunohistochemistry is a useful method in the differential diagnosis between pleural mesotheliomas and metastatic adenocarcinomas in the pleura. Cytokeratin 20 and 7 have been used successfully as markers in studies determining primary location of adenocarcinomas from metastases. The current study is a complementary research of archived paraffininbedded material of cases with cancer origin. This study contributes a bigger statistical material that may facilitate the search for unknown primary site of adenocarcinoma by identification of metastatic cells in the pleura.Methods.

This master?s thesis was performed at PartnerTech AB in Åtvidaberg. It addresses the problem of managing test results obtained from testing electronics manufactured by PartnerTech. PartnerTech has developed a test system, called Tor, which performs tests on manufactured boards and stores the test results in files. The Tor system consists of both hardware and software part, where the software runs on an ordinary PC with MS DOS/Windows 2000.

Utveckling av teknik skapar ständigt nya möjligheter men innebär också stora förändringar för företag och organisationer. Mobiltelefoner, surfplattor, bärbara datorer, mobilkommunikation och molnteknik gör det möjligt idag att inte längre vara bunden av tid, plats eller en enhet för att kunna arbeta. Förändringen innebär att en ny typ av flexibla och yteffektiva kontor med inga fasta arbetsplatser blir allt vanligare. Problemet med de så kallade flexkontoren är att veta var eller när en kollega befinner sig på kontoret är inte lika självklart, framförallt om det är stort kontor med flera våningsplan.Målsättningen med detta arbete är att ta fram och implementera en inomhuspositioneringstjänst eller en så kallad Location-Based Service, till företaget Connecta AB. Tjänsten ska göra det möjligt för användare att med hjälp av sin mobiltelefon dela med sig av sin nuvarande arbetsplats i en kontorsmiljö.Resultatet av arbetet är en Location Based Service som gör det möjligt för en användare att med hjälp av en Androidtelefon med stöd för kortdistanskommunikationstekniken Near Field Communcication att dela med sig av sin nuvarande arbetsplats.

Xylem är ett världsledande företag inom vattenteknologi. Xylem hade år 2011 mer än 12000 medarbetare i över 150 länder. Xylem Water Solut-ions är den största enheten och har huvudkontoret i Stock-holm/Sundbyberg där vi har fått möjligheten att göra vårt examensar-bete.För att läsa och presentera prestanda på pumpar och motorer används ett program som heter PECU som körs i UNIX. För att använda PECU på PC används en klient som heter Jmenu. Jmenu utvecklades för många år sedan och är idag krångligt att installera, uppdatera och distribuera.

Renewable energy and the charging of electrical vehicles will increase in the future. Therefore the risk of outages is also increasing, partly because renewable energy is intermittent and the production amount can change fast. Charging electrical vehicles is often demanding high effect in short time, which could make faults occur. It takes more advanced technology to short the outage time. Today Övik Energi has high reliability in the power grid, but in order to maintain the reliability, it is time to prevent problems that can occur in the future. This thesis has presented a suggestion for the placement of fault detectors Protrol IPS2, in which a total of four detectors is proposed.

AbstractAs a developer of database-driven applications you will be faced with difficult choices, when it comes to choosing database, server and programming language. For the result to be satisfactory it requires the different techniques to interact well with each other and also fulfill performance expectations. This is even more important when the application is deployed to the cloud and the response time plays a major role.This paper evaluates different databases and their performance. To test the databases there was an application made in the server script language PHP or Hypertext Preprocessor and it was deployed to Windows Azure cloud platform. The test applications task is to call and load databases by controlled requests which creates, reads, updates and deletes data in an relatively large extent.The results shows that locale databases or databases in the same data center as the server generates the fastest response.

This report is about how HDR (HighDynamicRange) can be created and used in combination with Tone mapping. This work has been carried out together with Kapsch TrafficCom AB in Jönköping.The objective of this project is to:Evaluate and investigate the effects given to pictures by HDR and tone mapping.Evaluate if the technology may lead to improvements in Kapsch?s systems.To construct a program which is able to handle some form of tone mapping or HDR-algorithm.These questions will be answered in this report:What kind of effects has HDR and tone mapping-algorithms on pictures?Can the HDR-technology give better data in Kapsch?s systems?The research method used in this report is called action research. This means the authors has investigated the technology by reading different documentations and by testing different algorithms to see what kind of result they give. The report describes some of the tests made to see if the technology is appropriate in Kapsch?s system.There is two smaller reports made by the authors which documenting some of the work.The first report describes the work with different settings for a camera to create pictures with HDR-quality.

Till produktkatalogen tillhör LPG, liquefied petroleum gas, som består av butan- och/eller propangas. Butan och propan är brännbara gaser som kan bilda explosiva blandningar med luft. Följaktligen finns det risker förenade med produktion, hantering och transport av LPG. Gasen som tillverkas leds på raffinaderiet till Skarvikshamnen i 6 km långa pipelines ovan mark.

There is a great need to reduce nutrient leaching from arable land into lakes and oceans. By using several different types of models it has previously been possible to describe nutrient losses in a catchment area with a minimum unit of sub-catchment level. At present, it is instead desirable to model a smaller catchment with an opportunity to re-connect the results to the corresponding fields in the catchment. Such models already exist but they are not fully able to properly describe Swedish conditions and land characteristics in our region.With the approach of creating such a model, SLU has developed a project with this work as its first stage. The model is expected to be created under the working name SWE-model which stands for Soil Water Environment and is in this first stage supposed to apply the SOIL model in catchment scale. During the procedure to describe the first step in the process of developing such a model adapted to Swedish conditions and which works in the catchment scale with an area of about 10-30 km2, focus has been set on calculating the transport of water flow from different hydrological response units. Regardless of the processes occurring in the soil after the water has been added, it is assumed that all the water which flows from each simulated unit is drained.In the first step the hydrologic response units were identified based on land use and soil type in the study area. With the help of a script with functions that retrieve and transform data, certain units were chosen for simulation. The script was also created in this project. Finally, the model results were aggregated and summarized for each unique unit, for each sub-catchment, and also for the whole catchment.From the results it is possible to see similarities in the flow dynamics between modeled and measured data. The efficiency coefficient has been calculated to correspond to the mean of the measured values for the whole simulation period. With an automated calibration process the model should be able to perform better. The volume error gives an indication of overestimation from the model..

In this database more than 12 000 eventreports are stored sorted in three categories, category 1, 2 and 3. The databasecontains events from the start of Oskarshamn 1 in 1972 till present time.All nuclear power plants in Sweden are obliged to report any deficiency in theirbarriers and/or the defense in depth in obedience to SSMFS 2008:1.When a failure is detected or there is reasonable suspicion of a deficiency, the eventreport should be classified as a deficiency of category -1, 2 or 3 [1].The event reports are logged and archived in the register of SSM. I denna rapport behandlas en strategi för systemutveckling som kallas för evolutionär prototyping. Evolutionär prototyping innebär att utveckla system i inkrementella bitar där system får växa till ett driftsystem för vidare evolution. Det finns också andra former av prototyping som explorativ, experimentell och kooperativ prototyping där prototyperna kastas bort och ett nytt system konstrueras. Många metodologier finns för att stödja processen att utveckla informationssystem. På grund av tillgången till CASE-verktyg och fjärde generationens utvecklingsverktyg har evolutionär prototyping blivit allt mer populärt i praktiken.

Det här rapporten är en del av mitt examensarbete för högskoleingenjörsexamen i elektroteknik vid Växjö Universitet, MSI. Arbetet är en del av ett större projekt kallat Kranstyrningsprojektet som bedrivs av Växjö Universitet, Rottne Industri med flera, vars syfte är att underlätta för förare att kontrollera den kran som finns på Rottnes skotare. För projektet har det använts en laborationskran och nu har önskemålet varit att det till kranen ska installeras ett nytt styrsystem från dSPACE. Dessutom vill man att nya givare ska sättas på kranen och kopplas till dSPACE. Man vill även ha en manual för att nya studenter ska kunna använda systemet.

Den här rapporten avhandlar Kristin Charlie Torsdotters examensarbete i industriell design vid Högskolan på Gotland. Examensarbetet gick ut på att utforma foajén till det påbörjade bostadshuset SommarRo i Uppsala, samt en sittmöbel till foajén. Projektet genomfördes i samarbete med arkitekterna till bostadshuset, Arcum Arkitekter.Projektets tyngdpunk har legat på att utforma en sittmöbel till foajén. Kravet på möbeln var att den inte bara ska vara funktionell och tilltalande utan att den även ska fungera som en installation i rummet. Möbeln skall även binda samman foajén med den övriga byggnaden samtidigt som den ska ha ett tydligt samband med byggnadens överliggande tema: modern japansk design med inslag av skandinavisk samtida design.Arbetet har skett i enlighet med design metodikens olika faser.
