Denna kandidatuppsats utgör en komparativ studie av två vampyrkaraktärer, greve Dracula och Edward Cullen, utifrån Bram Stokers Dracula (1993) och Stephenie Meyers första roman i Twilightsagan, Twilight (2007). Jag vill försöka klargöra förändringar i skildringarna av vampyrkaraktärerna genom att jämföra hur dem skildras när det gäller utseende, liv samt beteende och handling och därefter finna likheter och skillnader vampyrkaraktärerna emellan utifrån dessa aspekter. Den komparativa studien bygger huvudsakligen på närläsning av romanerna eftersom jag endast ägnar mig åt att studera hur vampyrkaraktärerna skildras. Resultatet visar att det finns såväl likheter som skillnader när det gäller skildringarna av greve Dracula och Edward. Skildringarna av Dracula som en monstervampyr har förändrats, gått förlorade och likaledes bevarats när det gäller skildringarna av Edward som humanvampyr..

Syftet har varit att utforska mötet mellan olika naturrums ?tilltal? och en dansares svar på detta tilltal. Avsikten är mer preciserat att utifrån ett fenomenologiskt perspektiv, beskriva innehåll och struktur på subjektiva upplevelser och erfarenheter såsom de framträder i mötet mellan naturen som fenomen och rörelse som improvisation och gestaltning. Syftet har lett fram till följande frågeställningar:Vad uppfattar jag av de utvalda naturrummen?Vad väcker de olika naturrummen för rörelser i mig som dansare?Hur framträder dessa upplevelser för mig på ett reflekterande plan? Metoden i denna studie har varit en explorativ studie dvs.

Syfte: Syftet med min studie är att genom analys av två filmer som skildrar likartade teman från två olika tidsperioder exemplifiera hur en socialt utsatt miljö och människor i den skildras i svensk spelfilm. Med filmerna som utgångspunkt vill jag skapa underlag för en diskussion om vilka eventuella konsekvenser dessa skildringar kan få för hur de som ser filmerna uppfattar de verkliga miljöerna och dess invånare. I studien undersöks följande frågeställningar: Hur beskrivs den utsatta miljön i de respektive filmerna? Vilka karaktärer används och hur beskrivs dessa? Hur används miljön respektive karaktärerna för att bygga handlingen? Vad kan det innebära att miljöerna respektive karaktärerna i filmerna beskrivs på det sätt som de gör för hur en publik uppfattar de som bor i dessa miljöer i verkligheten?Metod: Utifrån syftet med undersökningen och för att besvara mina frågeställningar har jag gjort en kvalitativ studie i form av en etnografisk innehållsanalys (ECA) av två svenska spelfilmer samt semistrukturerade intervjuer med tre intervjupersoner. I min analys har jag använt mig av socialkonstruktionism så som den beskrivs av Hacking som ett övergipande teoretiskt perspektiv för Pierre Bourdieus teori om det sociala rummet och G.

Det är mycket svårt, om inte omöjligt att göra en opartisk dokumentärfilm. I minundersökning skapade jag en särskild mall som jag sedan följde då jag genomförde endokumentärproduktion. Mallens innehåll är baserat på teoretisk forskning jag gjortinom dokumentärteori och hade som mål att eliminera de största faktorerna sombidrar till det till synes omöjliggörandet av opartiskhet. En viktig del av den teoretiskaforskning jag gjort är de teorier Stella Bruzzi ställer angående performance. Jag valdepolitik som ämne för min produktion i hopp om att få två polariserade åsikter om ettämne för att därmed utmana regissörens opartiskhet så mycket som möjligt.

The purpose of the thesis was to analyse three action films; Collateral Damage from 2002; Clear and Present Danger from 1994; and Scarface from 1983, in order to see how Colombians are represented in these movies.The action genre comprises of different stereotypes where the hero and the villain are represented in conjunction to each other. The analysis is about the way the films content and form are used to uphold the representation of Colombians, but also the villain and the hero more generally.Critical Discourse Analysis was used, as main method, and the concepts of denotation and connotation guided the analysis. Syftet med detta examensarbete var dels att undersöka preferenser vad det gäller spelfilm hos lärare och elever, dels att granska vems preferenser som ges företräde när det gäller tillämpningen av det vidgade textbegreppet, och då specifikt spelfilmens förekomst i svenskundervisningen på gymnasiet. Undersökningen har genomförts bland både lärare och elever på en gymnasieskola i Norrbotten. De metoder som har används är dels en enkät hos både lärare och elever, och dels lärarintervjuer. Resultaten från undersökningen visar att det finns skillnader mellan elevernas och lärarnas filmpreferenser. In fisheries, there is a long tradition to use catch data when evaluating changes in the stock and effects from harvesting. It is a common practice to use Catch Per Unit Effort (CPUE) as an index of population size, and several studies have investigated the properties of CPUE in relation to population abundance, spatial distribution and efficiency of gear. In research, catch rate on trap-transects is used as an index of abundance for wildlife species but CPUE is rarely applied as a tool in harvest management.In 1993, more than 60 000 km2 of the state managed mountain range in Sweden was opened to the public for small game hunting, under the responsibility of the county administrative boards in Jämtland, Västerbotten and Norrbotten. The total area is now divided into 332 hunting units (median=73 km2) and an internet based system is used to administer licences and reporting bag statistic. Each hunter has to register the results within two weeks after the hunt.

Snow White through Grimm and Disney - A Comparative StudyThis essay attempts to discern the differences regarding six Swedish versions of the fairy-tale Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs over a period of 150 years. Focus is placed on structural transformations through time and media according to the analytical theories of Vladimir Propp. Attention is also given to former research done on the impact of the fairy-tale on the child from a psychological and social point of view. Of interest is the historical background of the tale, commencing with oral tradition, and how this was dealt with by the Grimm brothers. This thesis presents a qualitative, comparative study of the violence in the adaptations of Hunger Games (Tony Ross, 2012) and Battle Royale (Kinji Fukusaku, 2000). By analyzing the function of violence in a single scene in each of the movies, and comparing it to the literary original, the study aims to explore if there are any differences in the representation of the violence in the two media. The study also briefly discusses whether the violence has any function in bringing the story forward in both the literary sources and in the films and what the motivation for the violence is. "The study also includes a brief analysis of the narratives in relation to the monomyth established by Jospeh Campbell. Specifically, I discuss the similarities between Hunger Games and Battle Royale, which are two stories that have been created in two different cultural traditions, and whether or not we can say that the stories derive from this monomyth." The result concludes that the monomyth can be found in both stories, but that the scenes which is analyzed has to be put into the context and furhter story of the film to be of any relvance to the theory.

Abstract The purpose with this essay is to get an understanding of how the christmascalender hasevolved throughout the history, and why its shape looks like it does. We have made ananalysis of the 21-centurys calendars to get a look on the content and tried to track a targetgroup. Which themes have characterized the 21-century and how can you put these in relationto earlier calendars? To get a greater insight in the design of the christmascalendar, we madean interview with SVT's Susanne Kvarforth. After this it came to our knowledge that they arelacking guidelines besides that their target group is 6-12 year olds.

Poly- and perfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs) are a group of environmental contaminants that have gained increasing attention due to their potential to bioaccumulate, environmental persistence and potential toxicity. PFASs have been found in surface water, sediment, air, soil, sludge and ice caps globally, as well as in wildlife and humans. Furthermore, PFASs have also been detected in drinking water, leading to raised concerns for human health, since drinking water is one of the most significant sources of PFASs for the general population. Conventional water treatment techniques have shown to be ineffective removing PFASs, highlighting the importance for further research to develop efficient removal techniques. The aim of this study was to investigate the removal efficiency of PFASs in water using two treatment techniques; granular activated carbon (GAC), type Filtrasorb 400®, and anion exchange (AE), type Purolite A-600. Additionally, the effect of dissolved organic carbon (DOC) on removal efficiency was studied.

In this essay I?ve chosen to do a comparative analysis of the two films Män som hatar kvinnor (Niels Arden Oplev, 2009) and The girl with a Dragon tattoo (David Fincher, 2011) based on feministic theories. I have done this with the intent of comparing the two versions way of viewing the woman. The analysis is based on my own questions, observations and interpretations, and has a hermeneutic approach.My conclusion is that ?The girl with at Dragon tattoo? is closer to Stieg Larsson?s original story that both films are based upon, though the Swedish film Män som hatar kvinnor has got more of a feministic purpose.

Litteraturundervisningen har länge varit en självklar del av svenskämnet på gymnasiet, men på senare tid har den blivit både ifrågasatt och kritiserad från olika håll. Med detta som bakgrund diskuteras i denna uppsats varför litteraturundervisningen är en viktig del av svenskämnet, vad som bör studeras samt hur detta kan ske. Huvuddelen av uppsatsen presenterar konkreta förslag på lektionsupplägg som alla har använts i litteraturundervisningen av lärare på gymnasiet. Dessa lektionsupplägg är indelade i tre övergripande arbetssätt: litteratursamtal, filmvisning och drama. Det visar sig att alla de tre arbetssätten kan bidra till uppnåendet av svenskämnets syfte, som presenteras i Skolverkets ämnesplan.

The purpose of this essay is to analyse the movie Hotel Rwanda from a didactic point of view using the movie?s use of history and historical culture as the main analytical tools. We also intend to problematize the use of movies in teaching focusing on the teaching guide from the Swedish film institution concerning Hotel Rwanda. We choose to work with a qualitative method. The reason why we decided to work with a qualitative method is the intention, as mentioned before, to analyse the movie using the tools we described earlier.
