Debuten av gluten ? Har tidpunkt för glutenintroduktion någon betydelse för risken att utveckla celiaki hos högriskbarn?
AbstractTitle: The debut of gluten ? Does timing of gluten introduction affect the risk ofceliac disease in high-risk children?Author: Sandra Hagwall Frohm and Maria IngmarSupervisor: Frode SlindeExaminer: Mette AxelsenProgramme: Programme in dietetics, 180/240 ECTSType of paper: Bachelor?s thesis in clinical nutrition, 15 hpDate: May 26, 2015Background: Celiac disease is a chronic disease in which the intestinal mucosa is damaged bygluten exposure, and the only treatment is a lifelong gluten-free diet. The disease affects about1 % of the population worldwide, but the majority are undiagnosed. Ingestion of gluten and thegenotype HLA-DQ2/8 are required for disease development, although additional genetic andenvironmental factors are believed to be of importance. One hypothesis is that timing of glutenintroduction in infants affects the disease risk.
Epidemiology of viruses in the livestock in Tanzania : a minor field study with focus on Peste des Petits Ruminants virus
Peste des Petits Ruminants (PPR) is a disease of major socioeconomic impact. It is an acute and highly contagious viral disease of small ruminants caused by the agent Peste des Petits Ruminants Virus (PPRV), a Morbillivirus closely related to Rinderpest virus (RPV) which was declared eradicated from the world in 2011. PPR has a high morbidity and mortality rate and is characterised by high fever, nasal and ocular discharge, pneumonia, necrosis and ulceration of the mucous membranes and inflammation of the gastrointestinal tract causing severe diarrhoea. The role of wildlife in the epidemiology of the disease is still unclear. The disease is currently affecting sheep and goat in 70 countries worldwide and this year (2014) FAO has announced a program to eradicate the virus by 2030.
In Tanzania, the disease was first reported in 2008 and has since then spread to different parts of the country.
Nyckelfaktorer vid exportetableringar i Tyskland : - En studie gjord på fyra norrländska företag
A common assumption in marketing is the wider variety of product a corporation has, the better for the consumer: more product - more choices. Companies often develop a line extension to broaden consumer range through product attributes including quality, function and design. These developed attributes within the product are not always optimal for the consumer. As a result, companies often become entangled in having a price higher than the cost and benefit of the products. This essay aims to analyze the consumer value of line extension products and how these evaluations relate to extended line product pricing.

To answer the purpose of the study a qualitative method was used and the data was collected through seven individual interviews. The analyse was conducted using theories of transformational, transactional and laissez-faire leadership. To enable a broader dimension to the study the concept of health-promotion leadership was also used in the analysis.
Vindfällning i naturliga och skapade bryn och kanter :
The aim of this work was to study if the edge of the forest is more resistant to heavy winds than the trees located further in from the edge, and how this edge effect changes between different types of tree species and site types.
The data was collected from an electric power line going from the north to the south of
Sweden. The mean value of the clearcutted area around the power line was 120 meters. The
main direction of the storm in January 2005 was west-southwest and thus the power line was a perfect place for gathering a large data set.
The main parameter studied was the damage frequency at the edge of the forest compared to
the trees located further in from the edge (up to 100 m from the power line). Tree species mixture, soil moisture class, soil type, topography, stand height, stand height of the stand on the other side of the power line and wind exposition was estimated.
The results showed a distinct edge effect. The edge of the forest had clearly lower damage frequency for all tree species.
A marked difference was observed between tree species and damage frequency.

This work is intended primarily for animal nurses/veterinary technicians and describe parts of the rabbits digestive tract, causes of gastrointestinal disease, symptoms, diagnosis, general care of rabbits with gastrointestinal disease and how to prevent that gastrointestinal illness occur. The work is largely based on literature studies but also on a questionnaire sent out to rabbit owners to get answers on how they generally hold and care of rabbits, which gastrointestinal diseases that are most common, how owners care for their animals at home during illness and to examine if the owners think that the knowledge of this subject is good at his veterinarian/clinic.The purpose of this work is to improve the skills of animal nurses but also to improve the skills of owners through competent advice from animal nurses. The result show that gastrointestinal disease often is caused due to improper feeding and care of rabbits and therefore is advices from animal nurses an important part of preventive care. Animal nurses are also an important part of treatment of rabbits with gastrointestinal disease when supportive care as fluid therapy, supportive feeding and supply of a stress free environment is important for the animals to recover..
Dairy fat biomarkers and cardiometabolic health
Commonly held dietary guidelines discourage full-fat dairy consumption due its to high levels of saturated fatty acids, which are believed to aversely influence cardiovascular disease risk. Cardiovascular diseases cause more than one third of deaths in the developed world. With dairy often providing a large part of energy and nutrients in Western diets, research into its effects on human health is warranted.
Several recent studies have suggested a protective role of dairy in the development of cardiometabolic disease. However, many of these have used imprecise methods of dietary assessment, based on questionnaires or interviews. Biomarkers are emerging as a means of evaluating diet in a more objective way.
Currently used dairy fat biomarkers are minor fatty acid constituents of dairy that preferably are unique to dairy and not influenced by endogenous metabolism.
"Det måste finnas lite jävlaranamma" En litteraturstudie om kranskärlspatienters upplevelser i samband med livsstilsförändringar.
The purpose of the literature review was to examine barriers and facilitators to life style changes experienced by patients with coronary heart disease. This knowledge could be of use to the nurse in her role as a support to the patient in the process of life style change. The result from this study shows that family support, knowledege about the disease and motivation are important factors when changing life style behaviors..
Oro och nedstämdhet vid kronisk obstruktiv lungsjukdom
The aim of the present study was to examine whether there are any differences in the self-estimated degree of anxiety and depression between men and women diagnosed with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). A further aim was to investigate if there is any association between the severity and duration of the disease and the level of anxiety and depression. A descriptive quantitative study was conducted. Data was collected by using Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS), a self-assessment of anxiety and depression. Data was collected at follow-up visit with COPD-nurse in primary health care in Uppsala during weeks 6-12 in 2011.

Emerging infectious diseases : a model of disease transmission dynamics at the wildlife-livestock interface in Uganda
Emerging infectious diseases are a recurring threat to both human and animal health. Understanding the multiple causes behind the emergence of new diseases is key to the prevention of new and potentially devastating outbreaks. The list of underlying causes is long, including a variety of anthropogenic, environmental, molecular and climatic changes that promote the emergence and spread of disease. Two of these factors are central to the emergence of new diseases and receive special attention in this study. The spread of disease from wildlife to livestock and diseases that spread from animals to humans (zoonoses) are of importance as they implicated in the majority of EID events.

Gastric ulcer is a common disease among pigs in the whole world where an intensiveproduction occurs. It is mainly the upper region, the nonglandular region of the stomach thatis affected. Gastric ulceration is a disease with several risk factors. The factor that seems tohave the largest impact on the development of gastric ulceration is a small particle size of thefeed. The reported prevalence of gastric ulceration differs from 5 to 100 % and it is a largeherd-to-herd variation.
