This paper describes Tempus Custode, a smartphone application with which the user may register working hours and travel time during the work day. The application communicates with a database via a server. The data stored in the database may be manipulated using an administrator tool, mainly for the composition of time reports. In this way, the user?s task of time reporting his day is greatly simplified.The application is able to automatically discriminate between work time and travel time, as it continuously fetches positioning data from the smartphone GPS receiver.

The aim with this study is to see how social workers apprehend the law, support and service for persons with certain functional impairments (LSS) and the application. We interviewed six social workers in six different municipalities to get a distribution between small and big municipalities. In the study we have used a qualitative method with half structured interview questions, since we wanted to get a comprehension for the social workers apprehensions. We have used a communication theory and a role theory in the study. The result showed that the social workers consider that the LSS is important, but that there are a few difficulties in the application.

Det är lätt att förbise att journalisterna inte enbart är sändare av information utan även mottagare. Uppsatsen undersöker hur journalister använder sig av Twitter och sociala medier som verktyg för informationshämtning och vad det ger för effekt på journalistikens innehåll. Genom att knyta an till tidigare forskning av Michael Gullikssons rapport Elektroniska källor i dagspressjournalistik: tekniktillgång, teknikanvändning och attityder vid tre redaktioner 1993 och 1996, jämförs användningen av Twitter och Facebook på en landsortstidning, Söderhamns-Kuriren, med en rikstäckande nyhetstidning, Dagens Nyheter. Kvalitativa intervjuer har genomförts skriftligt med tre journalister vardera på respektive nyhetsredaktion. Uppsatsens resultat visar att journalisterna använder sociala medier som arbetsverktyg i allt större utsträckning.

GCM is a product information management system which handles data for consumer packaged goods. GCM was developed during the middle of the nineties and was acquired by Prevas AB in 2004. The GCM application relies on the services provided by the organization GS1, which supplies global specifications and validations for trade items across several sectors. GCM is updated regularly due to the frequent changes in specifications from GS1. However, the overall graphical user interface design has not been redesigned during these years.This dissertation studies possible improvements for the webpage that handles product data in GCM.

This thesis is based on design theory about how to build an application for the mobile platform, a scientific analysis and an application for grocery shopping and meal planning. This thesis investigates the possibility to use vision technology for counting objects, achieving connectivity and to follow FDAs audit trail regulation. A market survey has been used to select suitable hardware and software to be used in the design of an application that is able to count objects and that uses standard industrial network connection i.e. OPC data access and Microsoft?s .NET components over Ethernet.
