Fällning av kisel från avloppsvatten vid Hellisheidarvirkjun - experimentell studie

This report is about the experiments with mixing of the separated water and the vacuum pump seal water at Hellisheiði power plant. This is done to prevent silica scaling and clogging in pipes and reinjection wells as well as eliminating vacuum pump seal water from the plant. The experiments were done in four stages: the first stage comprised of tests with different flows of separated water at 70°C, the second stage was carried out by mixing the separated water at 70°C and the seal water with different amounts of the seal water, the third and the fourth stages were like the first and second but with the separated water at 120°C. The results show that this method is good if the mixture is around 50/50 separated water and seal water, to control the silica scaling in the separated water and to be able to reinject the seal water with the separated water. This does not eliminate the silica scaling in all of the separated water because the amount of separated water is much more than the amount of seal water that comes from the plant. .

Many species of amphibians are threatened both in Sweden and globally. The causes are many and a main factor is habitat alterations which often results in populations being isolated. Changes in the agricultural landscape have among other things resulted in small Water bodies being filled and dried out and that has severely affected the Swedish amphibians. Swedish amphibians are depended upon small Water bodies for their reproduction. Wetlands have been constructed to reduce the impacts of the eutrophication in the Laholm bay.

This essay examines the ambiguous nooses that have been found around the necks of nine Danish bog bodies. By analysing and comparing these bog bodies and their archaeological context with earlier theories the aim is to create a more profound understanding of the individuals themselves, and the societies they belonged to. The aim is also to further investigate the symbolic meaning of the noose by discussing the concepts of ritual, sacrifice and punishment. To analyse the bog bodies the agency theory and Guinevere Granite?s (2016) theoretical framework concerning reason of death and bog internment, are implemented. The overall conclusions that are established is that it is difficult to give one general answer that can explain why all the nine individuals ended up in the bog.

This exam paper has examined visual portrayals of overweight and fatness in two swedish upper secondary school textbooks, one in physical education and one in social science. The textbooks were analyzed in regard to numeral representation, interacting social categories such as gender and age, depiction in forms of activities and stereotypes and relation to context close to or far away from a swedish context. The analysis showed an underrepresentation of overweight and fat bodies in both textbooks, but the represention of overweight bodies in the textbook on physical education were nearly nil whereas in the textbook on social science there where representations of both overweight and fat bodies. Combined the both textbooks gave a representation of health and youth as not represented by overweight or fat bodies..

The idea of creating a water protection is to protect the water supply and the body of water against pollution caused by point sources, diffuse sources and accidents combined.

NPK+ och blå målklassning : indikatorer på vattenkvalitet?

Vattendirektivets (2000/60/EG) krav på skydd och bevarande av vattenkvalitet i vattenförekomster har kraftigt ökat medvetenheten om vattenhänsyn och vattenvård i det svenska skogsbruket. Världsnaturfonden lanserade hösten 2011 tillsammans med skogsägarföreningarna (Södra skogsägarna, Mellanskog, Norrskog och Norra skogsägarna) vattenhänsynsverktygen NPK+ (Naturvärde, Påverkan, Känslighet och Plusvärde) och blå målklassning som hjälpmedel till skogsägare för att ta och synliggöra vattenhänsynen. Relevansen hos verktygen NPK+ och blå målklassning att identifiera och klassificera vattendrag efter vattenkvalitet undersöktes med antalet fiskarter som indikator på vattenkvaliteten. 55 vattendrag i Krycklanåns avrinningsområde strax utanför Vindeln i Västerbottens inland inventerades med NPK+ och blå målklassning i mitten av september 2011. Fältinventeringsdata analyserades statistiskt med fiskartsförekomst från en tidigare elfiskeinventering i vattendragen.

The objective of this report was to analyse and compare vulnerability and preparation in Swedish municipal drinking water production, in case the commonly used water sources were inoperative. Methods used were a questionnaire and a less extensive study of regulations for water protection areas. The questionnaire was answered by 41 Swedish municipalities. A handful of them were companies co-owned by a few municipalities. Only one out of four municipalities had source protection areas to all their water sources and for many sources the protection was not satisfactory.

Hyllie vattenpark : ett gestaltningsförslag

This project is focusing on a future park that will surround Hyllie water tower in the outskirts of Malmö. The water tower will be located in the central part of the new building area Hyllievång. The park will function as a town park with a special focus on water. The water council of the municipality, Va-verket, has for the last 7 years built up and been in charge for a pedagogical programme in the water tower, were schoolchildren come to learn about the cycle of water and how we use water in our daily life. In the park they want to build a new part that gives experience of water, as a compliment to the information in the tower. What will that park look like, and what shall it be constructed of? How do you bring water to the surface in a park? How can landscape architecture work to enhance the presence of water and make people more interested in water issues? In the search to find the answers to all my questions I have meet with people, read books and visited different places.

Dagvattnets föroreningar som potentiellt hot för en god ekologisk och kemisk status i ytvattnet : En kartläggning av Vallentuna tätorts dagvattenhantering utifrån dess tillsynsbehov

The EU's Water Framework Directive aims to a long-term and sustainable use of our water resources and wants to ensure good water quality in Europe's Water bodies. Discharge of polluted stormwater into receiving waters can be a threat to their ecological and chemical status. Municipalities are responsible for supervision of the environmental quality standards (EQS) and therefore need to gain knowledge of current stormwater management, the expected level of pollution emissions and possible appropriate purification steps to ensure that the goal of good water quality is achieved.This master thesis aims to provide this knowledge in the example case of Vallentunas urban area and wants to prepare future oversight so that it can be assessed how much the discharge of polluted stormwater into the local receiving water is a threat to its status. With the help of maps, aerial photographs, site observations and individual discussions those areas are mapped where appearance of moderate to highly polluted stormwater could be suspected. The degree of pollution at the discharge points is determined based on land use upstream and uses standard values according to the administrators assistance "Tillsyn av dagvatten" (MSL 2014).The study identifies 100 areas in need of supervision regarding their stormwater management.

Coastal areas are popular for housing, both for permanent living and holiday houses. At the same time, thin sediments and small storage capacity in the bedrock makes the ground water resources limited. The limited ground water resources combined with too large withdrawals of ground water makes salt water intrusion a problem in many coastal areas. This study examine the risk of salt water intrusion in drinking water supplying wells on the island Södra Finnö in S:t Anna archipelago, Östergötland, Sweden. A calculation of the relation between ground water recharge and withdrawal is obtained to analyze the ground water balance in the area.

Vattenkvalité i Märstaån : Igenväxning som indikator på närsaltläckage och vattenstatus

The purpose of this study was to examine whether an inventory of the vegetation overgrowth could be used to indicate a locally nutritional impact. The study was conducted at Märstaån where the water runs through a number of agricultural lands that could lead to an increased amount of diffuse emissions of nutrients. The vegetation overgrowth in the water was also studied in relation to shade, meandering and water flow effects on the vegetation. With this method, no definitive conclusions could be drawn.Where the water was shaded, no vegetation overgrowth could be found. Therefor trees should be planted to prevent any future overgrowths.

Påverkan på Valboåsen från verksamheter inom Svedens industriområde samt närliggande områden : hot mot grundvattnets kvalitet och kvantitet?

The aim of this work was to find out what potential contaminants from roads, residential area and businesses within Svedens industrial area that can affect groundwater quality and quantity. Data collection was from SGU, VISS, internal material from Gävleborg county Administrative Board and Gävle municipality archive. GIS software ArcGIS was used to create the map images in the work. The studied area is located approximately ten kilometers west of Gävle city and consists of the esker Valboåsen, which is a glacifluvial deposit that in its central parts consist of coarse material that is overlaid by sand, clay and silt. North of esker Valboåsen there are the river Gavleån which has an inflow to the groundwater in the esker. This inflow represents the largest part of the groundwater recharge.
