Over the past decade, the fashion industry has experienced a relatively high rate of consumption with material and clothing becoming increasingly subject to waste and disposal. As a result of the increased awareness within the industry the interest in CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) amongst retailers has increased substantially in an attempt to shy away from the critically amplified media attention. In addition the underlying demand from external stakeholders has forced companies to ensure they focus and act upon each stage of the product life cycle.This study provides a further in depth analysis of the fashion industry and conveys the key messages and steps that firms are taking in response to the external pressures and requirements based on four different merged process areas. This research paper examines the impact of CSR on two Swedish fashion retailers Åhléns and JC and shows how accountability relates to the external expectations and norms that prevail in society. The result shows that the firms do meet the demands within each sub category as a response to market demands.

I Sverige ökar förbränningen av avfall som inte är ett helt definierbart bränsle. Detta är i mångt och mycket ekonomiskt och miljömässigt försvarbart genom den höga kvalitén på rökasreningen, som garanterar att en mycket liten del av föroreningar når atmosfären, utan dessa koncentreras i askorna. Avfallsaskor går till stor del till deponier och används där för sluttäckning eller för att deponeras, samt att en stor mängd flygaska transporteras till Langöya. Inom en tioårsperiod kommer deponierna vara sluttäckta och Langöya uppfyllt, samtidigt som mängden avfallsaskor ökar, vilket innebär krav på nya lösningar. Orsaken till att framförallt flygaskan klassas som farligt avfall är koncentrationen av tungmetaller och föroreningar som härrör från bränslet.

Bravida is one of Scandinavia's leading suppliers of technical installations and services. According to Bravida an installer loses around 35 per cent of their daily work. It?s the time aspect that?s going to be examined in this thesis. The purpose of this thesis is that the student in question is to investigate the activities of the installers that works with this project, identifying where and how time losses occur and come up with suggestions for improvement.Methods used in this work is literature studies, observational studies and interviews.

Cycle time has a direct influence on number of returnable crates needed and therefore a crucial parameter for cost structure and pricing of the user fec in the pool system.For providing the growing market, number of crates has to increase as well as the utilization of existing crates. To accomplish this aim, cycle time for the whole supply chain has to be fully unravelled and understand.The purpose is to map cycle time and stock movements, to see how, where and when crates are being used in the supply chain. The goal is to make a method of cycle time calculation, together with suggestions of improving the pool system and decrease cycle time.The study has been a combination of qualitative and quantitative research and comprises the three biggest wholesalers in Sweden; ICA, Coop and Axfood. Furthermore have 65 grocery shops, connected to the wholesalers, been investigated and mapped.The study has come to a conclusion that cycle time for an average returnable crate is 19 days. The full-size and half-size crates have a bit longer cycle time, 21-22 days, while Dual Height-crates and shallow haif-size crates have 17-18 days.

Information är en viktig del av sjuksköterskans arbete och hennes pedagogiska roll sätts här på prov. En operation är en stor händelse i en patients liv och det är välkänt att patienter ofta är missnöjda med den information de får. Syftet med denna uppsats var att få fördjupad kunskap om vilken information patienter vill ha inför en operation och hur de upplever den information de får. Detta har gjorts genom en litteraturstudie där vetenskapliga artiklar i ämnet sökts och kritiskt granskats. Därefter sammanställdes resultaten av tolv slutligen valda artiklar till ett gemensamt resultat.

BakgrundEtt mål för mitt arbetslag har sedan starten 2001 varit att arbeta i ämnesövergripande projekt.Jag upplever dock att samarbetet mellan ämnena inte har prioriteras.SyfteSyftet med min aktion var därför att försöka stärka samarbetet mellan ämnena. Minfrågeställning var hur arbetslaget kan arbeta tillsammans för att underlätta ämnesövergripandeprojekt.MetodAktionsforskning syftar till att åstadkomma en förändring av en verksamhet och skapa insiktoch kunskap om hur denna förändring går till. För att genomföra föreliggandeutvecklingsarbete har jag använt mig av aktionsforskningens metoder. Jag har initierat enhandling i arbetslaget, följt processen och reflekterat över den på ett systematiskt sätt genomobservationer, loggboksskrivande och gruppintervjuer. Aktionen genomfördes läsåret 2006-2007..

Tio deltagare fick lyssna på två musikaliska verk varefter de, fritt formulerande, fick besvara frågor avseende de två verken. Upphovsmannen till verken intervjuades för att få fram intentionerna bakom verken och även bakgrunden till dem. Syftet var att, i en fallstudie, undersöka relationen mellan musikintention och musikreception. De huvudsakliga resultaten var att huruvida låtskrivaren/musikerns intentioner gick fram till åhöraren berodde på flertalet variabler. Vad gällde en låts handling var lättillgängligheten betydande.

Minnets tematiska och berättartekniska funktion i Eyvind Johnsons roman Strändernas svall (Fredrik Smeds, C-uppsats i Litteraturvetenskap, Karlstads universitet, Institutionen för kultur och kommunikation, vt 2003). Författaren redogör först för romanens handling och jämför kompositionen med den i Odysséen. Vidare studeras berättare och synvinkel. This bachelor thesis portray a project where the main task were to develop a computer based system prototype for handling of absence report at the upper secondary school af Chapman in Karlskrona. The project has been conducted in cooperation with students from the university programs software engineering and information economy at Blekinge Institute of Technology. Our task as MDA-students have been to survey the process of absence report of today through field studies and give a proposal of a graphical user interface which later were developed by the software engineers. The thesis also handles the cooperation with other students from other university programs..

The development of productivity in the construction industry has long been at a steady state compared to the manufacturing industry. Studies have shown that, amongst other things, waste on construction sites can reach up to one third of the total production cost. This has been observed from different aspects, and change is forthcoming.This thesis aims to provide a foundation for an increased productivity at production sites of building bridges. It is primarily based on a field study at Skanska, at a bridge construction site near Grängesberg. Via continuous interviews with the whole production crew, construction workers and management, information on interference and possibilities of improvement at the work site has been documented.

The main goal of this project was to develop some sort of a diverter for pipestransporting waste in a vacuum system. This unit was supposed to be both cheap andeasy to serve/exchange worn out parts. With a limited space to install the pipeexchanger, the challenge was to keep it as compact as possible without constructingbends with to small radius or to sharp angles as this would wear out the system a lotfaster than planned. The system was also supposed to be able to handle clothes andscrubs from hospitals. Having too much sharp edges or angles would tear the clothesapart.

Syftet med denna studie är att ur ett sociokulturellt perspektiv få ökad insikt om och förståelse för hur ungdomars medvetenhet om demokratiska värdegrunder framträder. Syftet är också att se om fritidsgården som lärandemiljö möjliggör ungdomars utveckling av interkulturell kompetens. Influerade av etnografisk ansats har vi med hjälp av observationer och gruppintervju samt genom samtal med fritidsledare kommit fram till vårt resultat. Resultatet visar på att fritidsgården utgör en lärandemiljö och att ungdomars medvetenhet framträdde, i både ord och handling, i gemenskapen på fritidsgården. Den sociala gemenskapen utgör en viktig faktor för lärande och utveckling för ungdomar.

Today a lot of goods is transported on wood pallets because it?s practical and enabels a fast way to load cargo. The drawbacks with pallets are that they weight a lot, are big and are relatively expensive. Therefore IKEA has developed plastic lists that can replace the europallet in some applications. In this examwork an automatic handling equipment for plastic lists are design from a requirement specification to a finished machine.

The purpose of this study was to examine the differences between non-audited and audited sustainability reports and in that way indicate the significance of auditing to the contents of a sustainability report. The study was delimited to include three companies that create sustainability reports according to GRI guidelines, and also have changed from non-audited to audited reports.The study is an exploratory study where we started from companies that follow GRI's standard and who have changed from being non-assured to assured and certified. In order to examine any differences we have started out from corporate sustainability reports and with the basis of these latter gather those changes which may have occurred during the changeover. We therefore chose to conduct a literature review on each company's non-audited sustainability reports and compare them with each company's audited and certified sustainability reports. Furthermore our study has been made on the basis of an assessment model based on the concepts of materiality, completeness and comparability.The study showed that the audited sustainability reports in all companies were more focused and more detailed about the aspects GRI established for the performance indicators.

SammanfattningEtt frihetsberövande i form av häktning torde vara en av de mest ingripande åtgärder den svenska staten kan företa gentemot en enskild individ. Olyckligtvis händer det ibland att den frihetsberövade av olika anledningar väljer att ta sitt liv. Rättsläget rörande det allmännas ansvar vid liknande skadesituationer och de närstående och anhörigas möjligheter till ersättning är mycket osäkert. I ett fall som i skrivande stund är på väg upp i Högsta domstolen hade en man begått självmord med hjälp av en livrem som han enligt rådande bestämmelser inte borde ha fått inneha. Tingsrätten tilldömde den avlidnes söner skadestånd något som senare ändrades av hovrätten.Kan då det allmänna göras skadeståndansvarigt vid liknande situationer och om så är fallet vilka möjligheter till ersättning har den avlidnes närstående och anhöriga?Ända fram till 1900-talet saknades ett skadeståndsansvar för det allmänna.
