The aim of this study is to investigate where and why the fitness clubs, Sats and Friskis & Svettis in Stockholms county, choose to locate their facilities in certain places and which their primarily targetgroups are. Furthermore, the aim is to gain knowledge of people?s health status in areas where the facilities are located, in order to see if they are located where exercise is most needed. Interviews were conducted with members of the fitness clubs but also with non members, i.e. people who lived in areas with an absence of fitness facilities.

Inledning Inom den psykiatriska vården blåser förändringens vindar. Det finns exempel på hur nytänkande kan skapa mer ändamålsenliga lokaler. Vårdmiljö innefattar både den fysiska miljön och den psykosociala miljön. Vårdmiljön påverkar hälsa och välbefinnande. En stor andel av befolkningen drabbas av psykisk ohälsa.

The aim of this thesis is to investigate in what way Swedish universities regulates its internal and external communication by the use of policy documents. The purpose has led to three research questions: what scope of communication is given to the documents user, if the document is challenging or redefining the current means of power, and how questions regarding trademark is taken into consideration. In order to achieve the purpose a discourse analysis is used as both underlining theory and comprehensive method. The underlining theory is based around social constructionism, structuralism, poststructuralism and critical discourse analysis. The analysis have taken emphasis from Norman Faircloughs three-dimensional model in which the documents have been studied on three separate levels.

Theoretical perspectives: Five main models have been developed by earlier studies to describe the relationship between internationalization and performance: positive linear, no or ambiguous relation, inverted U-shaped, standard U-shaped and S-shaped curve.

Stadsdelar med en utpräglad hållbarhetsprofil planläggs runt om i Sverige och övriga världen, och har haft en stor genomslagskraft sedan millenniumskiftet. Sedan 90-talet har dessa projekt stått högt på den politiska agendan och i Sverige startade satsningen i samband med det gröna folkhemmet då Sverige skulle bli ett föregångsland inom hållbar utveckling. Sedan 1998 har miljontals statliga kronor lagts på hållbara stadsutvecklingsprojekt vilket har lett till att ett flertal stadsdelar bebyggts i Sverige med en utpräglad hållbarhetsprofil varav Västra Hamnen i Malmö med start i Bo01- området, Hammarby Sjöstad i Stockholm och Norra Älvstranden i Göteborg är bland de största pilotprojekten. Det som områdena har gemensamt är att de alla är centralt belägna på industrimark med byggnader av miljövänliga material och diverse ekosystemtjänster finns på området. Stadsdelarna anses hållbara ur ett ekonomisk, ekologisk och socialt perspektiv.

AbstractLean production has become one common concept within industries to make the work more effective and to meet today?s hard competition. A challenge for Chinese production is the threat from new low cost countries. It will become very difficult to succeed to produce to a lower cost than these countries; this led to that Chinese companies must develop new strategies, according to Lee and Zhou (2000). This will put China in front of new challenges and new strategies can be needed to retain their strong competitive advantages.

Inledning: Stockholm står idag inför en breddning av hotellutbudet, hur förhåller sig hotellen till den ökande konkurrensen? Kommer hotellen att förändra prisstrategierna och kan eventuella prisförändringar leda till ett priskrig?Syfte: Syftet med studien var att titta på hur olika hotell skiljer sig i prissättning och få insikt kring priskrig och om det kommer uppstå då konkurrensen ökar.Metod: Enkätstudie med viss kvalitativ metodundersökning har använts, på grund av flexibel och hanterbar data som svarar på syfte och frågeställning. Teoretisk data har inhämtats från artiklar och publicerade böcker. Det har även använts artiklar för att påvisa ämnets aktualitet. Tio Revenue Managers (RM) har intervjuats.

This Masters thesis is made as the first of two visitor surveys of three urban forest areas. These areas are; Skutan recreational area in Haninge, Ugglevikskällan on Norra Djurgården in Stockholm and the Paradiset Reserve in Huddinge. The study is made in cooperation with the managers of the three areas operating within the European Union Life Project regarding Urban Woods for People. The goal has been to collect data through studies of visitors and close by residents in the three areas. The results are to be used as primary values for the follow-up as well as a basis for managerial decisions. The interviews and surveys are also constructed in a fashion so that they can be used for the follow-up study. For the Skutan recreational area the mode of contact was by sending forms to the nearby residential areas.

The purpose of the study is to investigate the interest in Sami reindeer herders to use the Low Stress Stockhandling (LSS) method for handling reindeer. Also to find out which reindeer handling situations they think works the best and the worst, and which might need improvement. The purpose of LSS is to reduce the stress animals are subjected to during handling by creating consistent and calm responses from the animals. This is done by handling the animals through the animals? point of view and using natural herd behavior to accomplish this.

I dagens samhälle ökar datoranvändandet stadigt och datorerna blir snabbare och snabbare. Trots detta står utvecklingen på ett område i det närmaste still, gränssnitten till våra operativsystemet. Den stora majoriteten av dagens gränssnitt bygger på samma principer som när de introducerades för över 20 år sedan, dessa principer kallas för WIMP vilket står för window, icon, menu och pointing device. Då operativsystemet kan sägas vara basen för allt arbete med en dator och till väldigt stor del styr effektiviteten i användningen, kan man undra varför inte mer har hänt på detta område. Syftet med vår undersökning är att visa på att det dels finns tydliga användbarhetsproblem med dagens dominerande gränssnitt, samt att det finns flera alternativ som erbjuder annorlunda lösningar.

Problem: The corrugated board industry is highly affected by customer uncertainty, various demands and short delivery times. In combination with a complex multi-step production process managers have to be able to identify bottle-necks and gain knowledge and understanding of how different changes in process will affect the production output. <br/><br/>Purpose: The purpose of this master thesis is twofold, (1) to examine applicability of complexity theory through agent-based modelling on a production process (2) to identify improvement areas in order to increase the production output at SKS production site in Eslöv, by modelling and simulating the production process through an agent-based model. <br/><br/>Method: The chosen method of this study is a combination of a case study and a complex system approach. The empirical data was collected through interviews, observation and document studies which were analysed through an agent-based simulation model.

One way to spread information and messages to the employees is by using internal Storytelling. The use of internal Storytelling aims to create an environment to build up an engaged personnel. Organizations use internal Storytelling when they want to create collective stories and frame of references among the employees within the organization, and also spread the values of the brand and information about the organization.Problem statement: How can internal marketing be affected by internal Storytelling?Method: Our study is based on a case-study of SCA Packaging Sweden AB.

Problem discussion: That empowerment and autonomy can lead to desirable effects on employees is clear. Previous research has found correlations between empowerment and e.g. motivation, job satisfaction, productivity, loyalty and commitment. However, a control problem arises when employees have more freedom in decision-making which could potentially lead to undesirable outcomes. It thus becomes a type of dilemma for management and managers where you have to try to balance a restrictive use of the control system (to maintain control) and an enabling use (to promote empowerment).Purpose: The purpose of this study is therefore to identify how a company can use its control system in order to achieve empowerment while maintaining acceptable levels of control.
