Inspired by how to sketch a light cone from a flashlight in a comic I wanted to create an armature carried only by its own light cone. To manage this challenge I sketched in an architectural and sculptural way, where I chose to ignore the function of the lamp as long as possible.As a result I developed an armature with a stunning shape, with an illusion that it was carried by its own light cone. It could be hanged on a wall, placed on a table, pushed against a ceiling or standing on the floor.Depending of its size the light cone from the light source lightens up the surface and draws attention to the otherwise forgotten wallpaper or the undisposed statue in the darkness of the city..

This report examines the possibility of developing a modular system for concrete homes that cancontribute to greater diversity of today's market. The issue was whether it ? from a competitive pointof view ? is possible to produce smart prefab modules that customers themselves can combine to avilla. The report addresses the question how the modules and wall panels should be designed for thegreatest variety of floor plans.With regard to what is asked of the customer interviews where held for the purpose ofunderstanding concrete's popularity and elements of high value in their homes today. Med Tommy Persson kvalitets- och produktchef vid Masonite Beams AB i Rundvik diskuterades problemet kring infästning av väggelement med hög färdighetsgrad till grunden. Det bestämdes att arbetet skulle fokusera på en- och tvåbostadshus och att endast fenomenet stjälpning skulle beaktas.Lastfördelningen gjordes enligt vad Klas Nyman skrivit i sitt examensarbete Tredimensionella effekter vid horisontalstabilisering av volymbyggda trähus. Beräkningar av lyftkraft gjordes enligt den plastiska metoden med syllen förankrad mot lyft medan frontregeln inte är förankrad mot lyftning som Bo Källsner och Ulf Arne Girhammar beskriver i sin bok Horisontalstabilisering av träregelstommar. För beräkning av skruvars bärförmåga tillämpades Eurokod 5. För beräkning av 5-percentilsvärden från provning tillämpades SS-EN 14358:2006 Träkonstruktioner.Resultat; de två studerade fästmetodernas dimensionerande bärförmåga är 1.61 kN och 1,23 kN, lyftkraften i syllen är i storleksordningen 3-19 kN/m.Rapporten kan ses som en fingervisning på hur stora lyftkrafter som uppstår i syllen när det blåser och ett alternativ på hur man ska beräkna dessa lyftkrafter.

Background: The most energy efficient houses today are so called passive houses. These houses achieve high energy-efficiency partly by having well insulated walls. U-value describes the amount of heat transfered through a building element, the more insulation, the smaller U-value. A typical passive house wall have a U-value of 0.10 W/m2,°C. The passive houses are primarily made as small family houses and not as a block of apartments.

The company is market leading in Europe in the heavyvehicle industry, designing and building body systems for trucks.In their line of products is the hook lift called Livab, a flexible and uniqueproduct. The hook lift is often demanded by customers because its special ability tobe able to operate in situations with low roof clearance. The main operation principleof the hook lift can be described as a truck stand, laid down.There are two main versions of the hook lift Livab, AL 26 and AL 32. These are ofdifferent load capacity, 17 and 25 metric tons of gross weight respectively.

Due to the Danish kings? engagements on the British Isles, the early town of Lund, was influenced by English and Anglo Saxon traditions, architecture and technology. The main aim of this essay is to find out in what ways, and most importantly how this can be seen in the archaeological material, and how it changes over time. Within a framework of historical sources, archaeological finds like excavated stave and stone churches, cemeteries, pottery, and everyday personal objects, both English immigrants and English influence is found. The problem of the English origin of the palisade wall technique is discussed, as is early Lund as a Viking age town.

Individual cellulose ?bers were studied to identify the transport and absorbtion phenomena as well as the in?uence of drying. A Chalmers University of Technologydeveloped method within ESEM (Enviromental Scanning Electron Microscope) has been used in this study. The results from the laborations gave the following conclu-sions: The transport of water occurs in ?bers in the ?ber wall surface and the lumen.

In this essay I have chosen to take a closer look at gold figure foils (Swedish ?guldgubbar?), find their context and analyze it. I have analyzed some earlier studies about gold figure foils that were found in Scandinavia.The focus of my study is based on the locations of the findings. Another important aspect is to discuss if the encountered gold figure foils that were folded and cut looked like that due to intentional motives or not.My conclusion is that when it comes to the locations of the findings they are mostly found in houses irrespective of if it´s in a posthole, wall or house foundation.The other conclusion is that the gold figure foils could have intentionally been manipulated before they ended up in the ground..

Projektet har haft som syfte att i samarbete med Örsjö Belysning AB ta fram en vägghängd armatur för hotell som ska ha funktion som ljus till att läsa vid sängen. Lampan har haft krav på hållbar utveckling. Lampan har en energieffektiv ljuskälla, vald med hänsyn till sitt syfte, och ingående material har valts med stark miljöhänsyn. Form och funktion har varit viktiga begrepp och har parallellt följts åt i projektet. Produkten har konstruerats för en okomplicerad isärtagning så att delarna enkelt kan sorteras och återvinnas vid armaturens avslutade användning..

Masonites flexibla byggsystem, är ett byggsystem utvecklat av Masonites Beams AB för flervåningshus, bostäder och kontor i trä.  System är anpassat så att det i största möjliga utsträckning går att använda sig av prefabricerade element direkt från fabrik, för att sedan hopfogas med mekaniska förband på byggarbetsplatsen.Masonites förslag på en infästning mellan bärande väggar är utformad som en montagedubb vilken förs ned i ett hål i underliggande väggelement. Montaget av dubben fungerade inte önskvärt, och det finns tveksamheter i montagedubbens förmåga att ta upp vindinducerande krafter.Examensarbetet syftar till att utforma och dimensionera ett nytt väggbeslag till Masonites flexibla byggsystem där snabbt montage av beslaget är viktigt. Iden är att såga en kontinuerlig slits i väggelementen som man sedan fäster plåtar som skruvas fast i det övre- respektive det undre väggelementet. Skruven som används är en självborrande skruv för att slippa förborrning av plåten och väggelementet.Reglerna i Eurokod 3 och 5 ligger till grund för beräkningarna av beslaget och lastnedräkningen av ett 8-våningshus är enligt BKR. Lämplig indata till lastnedräkningen gjordes i samråd med erfaren konstruktör och inblandade i MFB från Masonite.

The house had to be actual with Building Regulations (Boverkets Byggregler).Beside designing of all the crucial systems necessary for completing of claimed regulations evenan optional topic within building engineering had to be chosen.The task included designing of heating, ventilation, sanitation and electricity systems. Structuralengineering models has been made in compliance with Eurocodes. Materials for facades, floorsand roof were chosen and evaluated.As recessed portion of the work, evaluating of possibilities in designing of a glass roof waschosen.

I Sverige finns det inte många höga trähus, trots den enorma tillgången på material och det faktum att de allra flesta villor/småhus är byggda av just trä. Att trä är ett lätt byggmaterial, är väl lämpat för prefabricering samt är återvinningsbart i stor utsträckning medför att det är väldigt konkurrenskraftigt. Så varför utnyttjas inte detta byggmaterial oftare? En av anledningarna till det ligger i de konservativa regelverk som tidigare funnits i Sverige, de har inte tillåtit att bygga högre än två våningar med bärande stomme av trä. Något som ändrades vid årsskiftet 93/94 då en ny norm, BBR 94, kom som gjorde det möjligt för trä att användas i stommar.

Syftet med denna studie är att beskriva vilka natursyner som förmedlas i barnfilmerna Happy Feet (2006) och Wall-e (2008). Detta för att undersöka om de kan användas inom utbildning för hållbar utveckling i förskolan. Det har utförts en ekokritisk studie av materialet med ett idé- och ideologikritiskt perspektiv. Denna studie har utförts i strävan efter att bidra med ny forskning för området utbildning för hållbar utveckling inom förskolan, då det är ett tunt utforskat område.Resultatet av studien är att den antropocentriska natursynen dominerat i båda filmerna, men att de samtidigt ifrågasätts mellan raderna. Slutsatsen av studien är att innehållet i filmerna går att använda som underlag för undervisning, till exempel för att kunna föra en diskussion i barngrupp om natursyner..

This essay examines two modern retellings of the classic fairy tale of Snow White and the seven dwarfs in the version of the brothers Grimm. By analyzing the differences in the modern version to the more original one my aim is to be able to see how these objects of popular culture are affected by the type of society they are created within.In my two-step analysis I have first used the theory of narratology to find what changes had been made in the two retellings. Here I have the help of several key concepts of the theorists Vladimir Propp, Gérard Genette and David Bordwell. The narrative differences, which turned out to concern the characters mostly, I have then sought to explain in the light of the sociological theories of Zygmunt Bauman regarding liquid modernity and liquid fears..
