Vi har byggt ett digitalt musikinstrument, en synthesizer med samplebaserad trummaskin. Synthesizern och trummaskinen är mjukvarubaserad medan gränssnittet är hårdvarubaserat. This thesis examines different methods for the cooling of data centers. Several means of cooling with the refrigeration cycle have been studied, as well as the feasibility of using free cooling in different parts of Sweden. In addition, the possibilities of transferring excess heat to a nearby district heating system were investigated. It was found that in all investigated cases except two, the data center could be cooled solely with free cooling for at least 300 days a year when only the outside air temperature was considered as a constraining factor. The limit was then set to 20 °C.The vast majority of all district heating systems in Sweden get little to none of their heat from other excess heat sources.

Road transports stand for a great part of Sweden?s total CO2-emissions. Transports are expected to increase over the coming years, and with those the emissions. A greater environmental awareness leads to increased demands for environmentally friendly transport. The aim of this thesis is to study the consequences of changing transportation modes from road to railway.

The purpose of the following study is to examine whether or not differences can be found between a group of aspiring police students (N=59) and a student group (N=20). Comparisons were made between the following variables: general illhealth, subjective experienced stress, trait anxiety and the three coping strategies, which are emotion focused coping, problem focused coping and seeking social support. In addition the results were compared with former research on the general illhealth and trait anxiety of the police students with that of a group police officers with several years of experience (N=69).The result of this showed that the police students had a significantly better level of general than the studentgroup. Several positive relations between the variables were found, among others between illhealth and trait anxiety, subjective experienced stress and trait anxiety and also between different types of coping strategies and subjective experienced stress..

This bachelor thesis examines and discusses the question: "How can graphics for newscasts be adapted to follow technological developments in various media and increase its informative quality?" The work was performed on Swedish Television's own graphic department, SVT design in order to examine how news graphics need to be developed to follow the technological changes in media. The production resulted in a news graphics concept divided into three parts. Two of the sections show examples of how graphics can be adapted according to platform and the third section shows examples of news graphics that are produced at SVT Design by me. This thesis aims to present the essential background on how to perform climate changeimpact assessments, and to present the results from a climate impact assessment on waterbalance and nitrate leaching for an arable Swedish soil. The soil is a sandy soil in southwesternSweden, grown with spring cereals. This study is meant to be a benchmark example,and cannot be seen as a regional or national assessment for Sweden, rather as an approachto present and analyze the most important parts of these kinds of assessments.A dynamical simulation model (COUP, Jansson and Karlberg, 2004) was used for thisstudy. The model was parameterized and calibrated against data from an experimental site,located in Mellby in Hallands county, south western Sweden. Measurements were carriedout between 1st of April 1988 and 1st of April 1991.

Den här studien är en undersökning av hur organisationskulturen i en svensk polismyndighet tar sig uttryck i personalens förväntningar på handledning. Metoden som använts är enkel fallstudie. Sjutton intervjuer har genomförts, varav femton individuella och två i grupp. De totalt trettio deltagarna är indelade i fem grupper; ledning, yttre befäl, ordningspoliser, projektledare och handledare.Resultaten visar på tre kulturella fenomen som kommer till uttryck i gruppernas förväntningar på handledning. Dessa består i vertikala och horisontella spänningar i myndigheten samt ett fenomen som vi valt att benämna "den enda chansen".

I nuläget packar Siemens Industrial Turbomachinery till montage av en gasturbin ad hoc vilket leder till att varje projekt är unikt. När montören ska montera gasturbinen används en stor del av arbetstiden till att lokalisera artiklar genom att öppna och leta igenom lådor.Syftet är att ta fram de förutsättningar som måste uppfyllas för att gasturbinen SGT- 800 ska kunna packas i en monteringsvänlig ordning. Målet med en monteringsvänlig ordning är att tidsåtgången för att lokalisera artiklar ska minska.Tre bromsklossar anses vara försenade artiklar, avsaknad av återkoppling mellan Packningen och monteringen och avsaknad av packinstruktioner. I analysen visar det sig att andelen försenade artiklar ligger på en för företaget acceptabel nivå. I analys och diskussion behandlas återkopplingen av information mellan olika avdelningar och möjliga packinstruktioner.Resultatet presenterar riktlinjer till en packningsprocess och hur försenade artiklar ska behandlas.

Background: The international accounting standard regarding goodwill gives opportunities to several accounting procedure choices, as goodwill is a complex, intangible asset. The valuation of goodwill affects equity/asset ratio and income statement, which gives that the stakeholders? impression of the group?s financial statement is affected by the valuation of this asset. It has been pointed out that difficult economic times bring impairment loss to the fore. During financial crisis, equity/asset ratio may be significant as the economy of the groups is expected to be strained.Purpose: The purpose of this essay is to explain the appearance of the possible relationship between a group?s impairment loss for goodwill and their equity/asset ratio, during financial straits.

This thesis is basically a design project aimed to find a safe and reliable automatic safety device, which is designed to be suitable for highly automated industrial situations. This device fits with ABB / Jokab Safety?s fence systems. These are built up around machines to create safety distances. The automatic protection device assist the operator in situations when loading or going in and out of the danger zone.

Data och tvspelsbranschen är mansdominerad och har fått en hel del uppmärksamhet i media på senare tid. Dels för bristen av kvinnor som arbetar inom den och dels för kvinnosynen som uttrycker sig i spelen. Vi kommer använda ordet spelbranschen som synonym till data och tvspelsbranschen i resten av uppsatsen. Tidigare forskning har visat att utformningen av jobbannonser kan vara en bidragande faktor till att kvinnor inte söker sig till vissa arbeten. I denna studie har vi undersökt om jobbannonserna i spelbranschen i Sverige är maskulint könskodade och hur detta i sådana fall formulerats.

Thesis purpose: The purpose of this thesis is to determine how a technolo-gically enhanced shopping tool, synergizing eCRM tech-niques with personalized promotion at the point-of-sale, can increase customer loyalty by considering perceptions of current grocery retailer loyalty programs in Sweden. Methodology: An exploratory research was undertaken in the light of a qualitative method collecting primary data through focus group interviews. Theoretical perspective: The major considerations regarding theoretical aspects, for this thesis, can be addressed by Behavioral/Attitudinal loyalty and Relevance of Promotion. Empirical data: The empirical data, in regards to primary data, was ga-thered based on four focus group interviews. Conclusion: The conclusions of the thesis imply, that in order to make a loyalty program successful, it needs to firstly be conven-ient for the customer; easy to join, and provide an easy and time efficient display at the point-of-sale.
