The economic development and industrialization that has taken place in many parts of the world during the past century has brought about a huge increase in economic welfare. During this process, it has repeatedly been debated whether the gains from economic development are shared by everyone or just a few. In the field of economics, vast research has been conducted on this particular subject ever since the 1950?s. The most famous contribution might be said to be Simon Kuznets article, Growth and Income Inequality from 1955 and the ?inverted U?-hypothesis that was formulated on the basis of that article.

The purpose with this thesis work was to design and build a technical aid for installingbatteries in telecom base stations. Today that job is done manually, since there is noequipment on the market for that purpose. Installing batteries in base stations manually isa very tough job.To get ideas for possible solutions a preliminary study on existing lift aids was done.From the preliminary study the conclusion that some kind of overhead crane would besuitable for the task was drawn. After that a lift for installing batteries in base stationswas designed, built and tested. The tests show that it is possible to minimize heavy liftingwhen installing batteries in telecom base stations, at a relatively low cost.ii.

The Anybus CompactCom modules are today using the Anybus NP30 processor. These modules are used for communication between industrial machines and larger network protocols. The communication loads on these systems are increasing every day and the limiting factor for the system is the processor.HMS, the company that develops the Anybus CompactCom, has shown interest for a benchmark test between the old processor and a new processor, ARM Cortex-M3. This project includes that benchmark. To be able to get results that reflect reality a test environment was created to simulate Anybus CompactCom conditions.

This report presents a thesis project conducted by two students at Mälardalens högskola. The project covers 15 points in industrial design and was conducted during April to June 2014. The principal of the thesis works at Plastic Produkter. The assignment was to develop equipment for an effective way to dose, mix silicon, fill a special designed plastic bag and then seal it. This is a qualitative case study that aims to examine the small entrepreneur?s choice of financing solutions and their thoughts on various forms of financing. The authors have chosen to specifically examine entrepreneurs who do not have experience that stretches more than three years in entrepreneurship and the restaurant business. The study used three different companies in the restaurant business in Stockholm and semi-structured interviews were conducted with all owners of the company, corresponding to a total of six respondents. The study's findings show the relationship of entrepreneurs who believe that the experience of the industry and entrepreneurship is valuable also are more prone to giving away some ownership in exchange for a certain expertise and funding..

At Saab Aerospace in Linköping, components for measurement systems to the fighter aircraft JAS 39 Gripen are developed. In this activity you sometimes want to record the traffic transmitted on the data busses that connects different sys-tems. This traffic on the data busses is using the military standard MIL-STD-1553. This project has aimed to create a system for recording and sending 1553-data. The system is used on an ordinary personal computer, equipped with a recon- figurable I/O card that among others has a programmable logic circuit (FPGA).

The industrialization of construction is increasing in Sweden which leads to higher demands of prefabricated components and cells. But what does the business of construction think of the industrialized business and what can be done in order to decrease faults and errors with these products? Today we have many manufacturers who have different technical solutions which might lead to difficulties when assembling components and cells at the building site. But by trying to make a more opened market, with possibly standardized connections details and improving the communication between the different participants, the prefabricated components and cells can be made and assembled with less errors. This report is an evaluation of the cooperation between the rescue command centre and the POSOM-groups (?Psychological and social support?) after the Tsunami catastrophe in December, 2004. The report describes the interaction between these two municipal administrations, what services the rescue command centre provided and how they gathered information. Finally the author suggests different solutions to how the collaboration within these different municipal administrations can be increased and improved in future times of crisis..

This thesis investigate how energy efficient measures has spread throughout the data centers in Sweden. These questions are put up against a theoretical use of such concepts such as green IT, technological evolution, large technical systems and knowledge dissemination. These theories are used to answer the questions that are encountered during the study, such as how green IT is approached, how big of a role environmental thinking has had in the evolvement of these new technologies. The study has been conducted in a longitudinal manner, it is an observation of the phenomenon that is data centers over a longer period of time. 23 non structured interviews spanning over 27.5 hours of recorded material have been conducted alongside a study of archived material.

Ofta är det mycket data som ska förmedlas till användaren.I de fall visuella representationer av simuleringen ska visas i realtid måste data sållas bort så att en interaktiv bildfrekvens uppnås samtidigt som betydelsefull information inte får försvinna.Vid Totalförsvarets forskningsinstitut, FOI, används simulering och visualisering som ett verktyg för att studera de komplexa duellsituationerna mellan medel och motmedel (telekrigduellen). Arbetet beskriver ett systemutvecklingsarbete som innehåller kravfångst, analys och design av en data warehouse/business intelligencelösning till Svenska bordtennisförbundet. Svenska bordtennisförbundet/SBTF/ behöver utöka sitt beslutsunderlag för att kunna fatta strategiska beslut. SBTF behöver även få bättre kontroll på sin verksamhet för att kunna sätta, utvärdera och följa upp mål. SBTF önskar lösa detta genom att skapa ett data warehouse till vilket data från de olika systemen laddas för att därefter kunna presenteras för användarna genom business intelligence. I kravspecifikationen framkom att klubbarnas medlemsregister, alla tävlingsspelare, all träningsstatistik och de matcher som spelats i Sverige sedan 2011 var det dataunderlag som skulle ingå i ett data warehouse.
