Forests affect its visitors in many positive ways. It is the acknowledgement of this fact that has prompted an EU-LIFE sponsored project entitled ?Urban forests for mankind?. It aims to lure or welcome more citizens near urban forests to experience nature in its many forms. In Sweden, three municipalities have decided to take the lead in this effort. Huddinge district, Haninge district, and the Royal Djurgården Administration in conjunction with The National Board of Forestry in Mälardalen are in the midst of this four year project (2001-2005).

Som polisman i yttre tjänst tillbringar man mycket tid i tjänstefordonet. Man patrullerar, transporterar misstänkta. Det händer också att fordonet används för att preja en annan bil av vägen, inte så vanligt men det händer. Vidare har polisman en hel del utrustning på sig som skall bäras vare sig man vill eller inte. Vi har studerat dels om den personliga utrustningen kommer i konflikt med säkerhetsbältet i bilen, finns det risk för större skador på grund av den personliga utrustningen vid en eventuell krock.

Background: Once upon a time the most important resources in an economy were tangible goods. Historically, Swedish company culture has been dominated by engineering and techni-cal innovation has been the focal point. Today, Intangible values drive product development and form a company?s differentiation. Intangibles have therefore become the most prominent resources in a company.

Vi, Anna Nilsson och Jeanette Svensson, valde att producera musikvideos under vårat kandidatarbete på Blekinge tekniska högskola. Detta eftersom vi båda har ett stort intresse till musik och rörlig bild. Vi valde att göra två stycken för att lära oss produktionens process grundligt och för att nu kunna jämför de båda och av detta ta lärdom. Den ena musikvideon gjorde vi till en skånsk duett som heter KC och den andra till Advance Patrol. Båda låtarna är inom genren hiphop.

Syfte: Att undersöka om ledningsfilosofin The Toyota Way och verktygslådan LEAN;? Stödjer lärande i en organisation, samt? Om ledarens roll för lärande är en viktig kompetens, utifrån teorier om lärande och ledarens roll för lärande i organisationer. Specifika frågeställningar är; ? Stödjer Volvokoncernens ledarkompetenser ett LEAN ledarskap, samt? Är ledarens roll för lärandet en viktig kompetens och hur uppfattar ledarna de faktiska förutsättningarna för ett LEAN ledarskap?Teori: Wengers, teori om Communities of Practice, Targama & Sandbergs teori om Ledning och förståelse. Teorier om ledarskap av Svenningsson/Alvesson och Yukl, samt studier på framgångsrikt ledarskap genomförda av Lombardo/ Eichinger.

Detta arbete behandlar operatörers informationshantering och problemlösning på en arbetsplats som utmärks av en hög grad av automatisering och datorisering. Automatisering innebär att det tillkommer ett system mellan operatörerna och deras arbetsuppgifter. Gränssnittet är den yta som finns mellan operatören och systemet, och det är gränssnittet som avgör vilka systemtjänster som operatörerna kan använda. Utformningen av gränssnittet är således betydelsefullt för hur väl operatörerna kan utföra sina arbetsuppgifter.För att studera samspelet mellan operatörerna och gränssnitten har jag gjort en utforskande undersökning. Denna bygger på en fallstudie av ett arbetsområde på vevstakslinjen på Volvo Personvagnar Komponenter AB, Flobyfabriken.

Changes in the climate and the environment are largely consequences of human influences. Resources are given to teach adults about the environment. However, there are problems in focusing on adults because it is difficult to influence people when they already have created a lifestyle. We have instead chosen to focus on teaching children about changes in the climate and the consequences of this.Many of the toys available on the market today encourage children to consume. Luxury cars and dolls with hundreds of accessories are often made of materials that has have a negative effect on the environment.Another problem we often encountered during the year is the declining interest in technology and science.

Every tenth year a financial crisis tend to interfere with an economy. Price bubbles with an accompanying market plunge are therefore not a new phenomenon. Such market disruptions have been causing problems for centuries, as history has a tendency to repeat itself. The intention with this study is to learn more about the bubble phenomenon and increase the knowledge in this area in order to, if possible, prevent such a thing from happening again. The purpose of the essay is to identify factors that significantly affected the development of the so called IT-bubble in Sweden and Finland during the years of 1995-2000.

Volvo Construction Equipment i Braås är världsledande inom tillverkning av ramstyrda dumprar. I Braås utförs därför en mängd olika testfall där man kartlägger utfallen genom insamling av data från CAN-bussar i dumpern. Om ett test går fel beskrivs det i en felrapport med tillhörande beskrivning av händelseförloppet. Idag finns det inget enhetligt sätt att visa händelse ihop med position.För att analysera insamlad data används idag CANalyzer. Fördelen är att det går att visa insamlad data på ett strukturerat grafiskt sätt.

Since product placement is a relatively new phenomenon in Swedish television, there is a lack of research on what attitudes Swedish TV-viewers hold towards it. This is where our paper will contribute to the research. The purpose of this reserachpaper is to describe and analyze what attitude Swedish TV-viewers has towards product placement. Kim Schröders multidimensional model of mass media reception were used, which is a developed model from Stuart Hall?s ?encoding/decoding? one-dimensional model.

Rapid urbanisation is putting strains on both the landscape and the city dwellers and the pressure on planning for sustainable and equitable cities is crucial. As many cities in Sub-Saharan Africa are expanding, city planning has trouble keeping up to meet the needs of the growing amount of urban dwellers. Many cities have also been planned with the cars in focus and the needs and comfort of the pedestrians have been overlooked. The capacity of institutions is limited due to centralized government and bureaucracy, as well as corruption. Planning is erratically implemented and it is difficult to know what will happen.

This thesis work has been performed at the department of diagnosis and dependability at Volvo Car Company, Torslanda. The background of this project is based on interest in ascertaining how different factors possibly can affect a diagnosis method, which has been developed to find leaks in the fuel tank and evaporation system. According to the OBD II requirements leaks with an orifice diameter larger or equal to 0,5 mm, must be detected. The idea of the diagnosis method is to create an over pressure in the system with an air-pump. The current through the pump is measured and correlates to the power consumed by the pump.

The consumer today is affected by a considerably larger number of world surrounding factors than she used to be, borders between different cultures and other consumer differences are being erased to a growing extent. The consumer can easily get its inspiration from many different directions which become clear in the common life. We eat sushi for lunch, we?re driving German cars and we?re having dinner with international business partners. The community also exposes the consumer for a more intense noise from offers, impact and marketing.

When creating a good lighting design it is crucial to know how different types of lamps work. Knowing what kind of light they emit and in which situations they work well is also very important. In this master thesis I present different types of lamps and give an account of how light is spread through the different shapes of luminaires, reflectors, filters and so on. I write about how our eyes register radiation and connections between lighting and how it makes us experience space. Furthermore I deal with the effect of artificial light on living organisms and the environment. After the theoretical studies I deal with the places I have visited to study how different lamps and luminaires work and look like in existing lighting designs. These visits have also been inspirational to my lighting proposal for Bokenäs. Bokenäs is Volvo?s resort and conference center which is situated on the Swedish west coast.
