This thesis examines immigration policy and the problematic of the surveillance society, by analyzing the movies V for Vendetta and Children of Men. In the thesis we use visual analysis, and the theories of Michel Foucault and Nikolas Rose. Central questions to our thesis are how the movies interpret the present time, and how they have chosen to depict the surveillance society to problematize the current immigration policies. We have used thematic analysis to illustrate these questions..

In the gaming industry, it has long been popular to combine genres with the aim ofcreating games that bring together the best of several worlds. However, there are stillmany unexplored combinations with good potential.This report addresses the planning and development of a game prototype that combinestwo game genres, turn-based and real-time strategy. In addition to presenting the results,the report also discusses the di culties that were encountered and how they were handled.The prototype contains a working combat system and a basic AI. The prototype ismodular, which means that it is easy for an end user to extend the game with extra content.Most elements that were considered important from the two genres were implemented, butthere is still room for improvement and further development.The result is evaluated by means of quality assurance, a process that is commonly usedin the gaming industry. The response has been generally positive, which indicates thatthe combination has potential and should be explored further..

Detta arbete har gjorts för att utvärdera XMI 2.0. Utvärderingen har gjorts för att se om den nya standarden (2.0) av XMI är bättre än den gamla. Det finns måga typer av problem som kan testas denna rapport undersöker om det går att exportera/importera klassdiagram mellan olika verktyg med hjälp av XMI. De UML-verktyg som har testats är Poseidon, Visual paradigm, Magic draw, Altova Umodel, Argouml Bouml.Resultatet visar att det inte är så lätt som man kan tro att exportera/importera diagram mellan olika UML-verktyg..

Rotavirus causes diarrhea in young mammals all over the world, including infant humans. The diarrhea leads to severe dehydration that can be fatal if left untreated. The dehydration can be treated with fluid therapy and the infection heals itself. Despite the relatively easy treatment half a million children under the age of five dies every year due to diarrhea caused by rotavirus. Rotavirus sorts into the family Reoviridae and is a double-stranded RNA virus with a segmented genome.

The basis for this study is the question of what happens at the point of impact between receiver and message in the case of a social marketing campaign on Facebook promoting sustainable travel. Hence the aim of this study is to analyse the reception of the social marketing campaign Fairadise in a sample of 19 individuals. The design of the study is therefore reception analysis with the help of four focus groups and thematic analysis to later identify patterns and themes in the gathered material. The theoretical approaches were collected from the field of media and communication and focused on public communication campaigns, public understanding of public communication campaigns as well as decoding of messages. The questions posed were; how is the Facebook campaign Fairadise received by the focus group participants? How do the participants read (decode) the campaign; dominant, negotiated or oppositional? And what assessments do the participants have regarding the visual versus textual information in the campaign? Previous research has shown that visual and emotional attributes are of great importance when it comes to interpreting messages about sustainable tourism and that rational information attributes are of less importance. The findings in this study agree with this previous research except when it comes to rational information.

What causes people to move within and between certain places and not within and between others? How do physical outdoor environments affect the way people act and move? Do different environments generate different body language and mimics in the bodies that inhabit them? In my pursuit for answers to these questions I studied literature and initiated and took part in dialogues in the form of workshops, all of which has resulted into this thesis. My questions have initially arisen from reflections of my own environment and how it not only affects my mental condition, but also my actions. Drawing upon the hermeneutic term ?preconception? I trust that what we label ?truth? is constructed by our lived experience and the society we grow up in.

The development and production of these have occurred in the iterative processes with relevant theories as a basis. With Microsoft's new operating system, Windows 8, a new type of applications were introduced, Windows Store Apps. These applications must meet certain requirements in order to be uploaded to Windows own store for apps. There are also guidelines to follow. The requirements and guidelines include appearance and functionality, such as a common search function in the applications to contribute to a more unified experience. How does these requirements and guidelines influence developers? Whether the development of the Windows Store Apps gets more difficult, or perhaps even simpler, is studied and evaluated in this report.

Syftet med arbetet är en fördjupning i och undersökning av filmens potential som didaktisk redskap i gymnasieskolans svenskundervisning och i vilken utsträckning mediet används. Multimodal teoribildning har studerats och en extensiv litteraturgenomgång genomförts för att identifiera möjliga användningsområden för film. Kvalitativa intervjuer med lärare som är verksamma i svenskämnet i gymnasieskolan idag har utförts. Det huvudsakliga resultatet från studien belyser att lärare är positivt inställda till att använda film i sin undervisning och gör det till viss del, men att det behövs mer vägledning och struktur runt både konsumtion och produktion av film för att lärarna ska kunna nyttja dess fulla multimodala och didaktiska potential i klassrummet..

This graduation thesis is about baths and beach like places in city centers. It focuses on recreation and the creation and development of public, social spaces in the city containing water as a visual and useable element. The thesis is divided into three parts; background, inspiration and application. The background examines four factors which we consider important for the occurrence of inner city baths; water, the history of bathing, inner city recreation and social life in public places. A discussion of the (future) importance of inner city baths and beach like places' is then presented. The inspirational part is divided into examples of existing places and examples of types of places. The first is used in an attempt to examine the function and importance of inner city baths and beach like places as well as the opportunities and challenges associated with them. The latter contains a presentation of six categories developed by us to facilitate the planning of inner city baths and beach like places.

Examensarbetet har utförts på Weland Lagersystem AB i Gislaved som tillverkar och säljer lagersystem. Företaget är en del i Welandkoncernen och ägs därmed av Weland AB. Arbetet handlar om att effektivisera konstruktionsprocessen på Weland Lagersystem AB, för produkten grenställ1. Konstruktionsprocessen består idag av ett flertal moment. Ett av dessa moment, som idag utförs manuellt och är tidskrävande, är skapande av geometriska modeller.

I denna uppsats undersöks rollspelets potential att motverka diskriminering och förtryck i förtryckande regimer. Jag tar avstamp i de mänskliga rättigheterna och i dramapedagogikens essens och styrkor. Jag beskriver Youngs diskrimineringsteorier, samt Freire och Boals pedagogiska teorier om den frigörande teaterns styrkor och syften, och presenterar en intervju om rollspelsanvändande mot kvinnoförtryck i Iran. I analysen söker jag samband mellan de olika tillvägagångssätten i användning och syfte med rollspel utifrån materialet och presenterar mina slutsatser; rollspel i förtryckande regimer kan leda till sammanhangsskapande, frigörelse från inre förtryck, och medvetengörande för individ och grupp om hur man kan skapa en dialog om förtryck..
