For the past decades, culture has been given a role as a factor for local and regional development. But what is meant by development and in what ways culture can be of importance in this aspect can be unclear. This thesis examines the perception of the role for local and regional development of one specific cultural place and network ? the cultural cooperative Not Quite in Fengersfors, Sweden. I study the way the role as developer is expressed and interpreted in the discourse of the cultural workers who are members of the network and in the discourse of public cultural policy in the region Västra Götaland and in Åmål municipality.

För att åstadkomma ett effektivt utvecklingsarbete är det av yttersta vikt att undersöka vilka faktorer som leder till stärkt kvinnlig egenmakt. Med hjälp av ekonometrisk analys jämför denna uppsats kvinnlig egenmakt i Rwanda år 2000 respektive 2010. Trots Rwandas omfattande ekonomiska och jämställdhetsfrämjande reformer kan denna uppsats inte visa på mer än marginella ökningar vad gäller kvinnlig egenmakt. Ökningen hittas endast för kvinnor med hög utbildning. I linje med tidigare forskning indikerar resultatet att Rwandas utveckling i många avseenden främst verkar ha gynnat en mer privilegierad minoritet.

The number of blogs, from weblogs, are increasing every day. Blogs are also becoming more visible in the public debate as well as the awareness of their existance is rising among politicians and citizens. The aim of this thesis is to answer the question what democratic potential blogs can have. This question will be answered by initially studying the research that exists today about weblogs and democracy. The second part of the analysis consists of a selection of texts from weblogs that touches this subject.

Kreativitet och kulturella produkter får allt större betydelse i tillväxtekonomin. Det som skiljer den kulturella industri från andra, är bland annat den kreativa medarbetaren som känner ett stort intresse för det den arbetar med. Den kreativa medarbetaren har egna visioner och mål som denne strävar efter vilket kan uppfattas vara ett problem för företaget att leda medarbetaren i samma riktning som företagets visioner och mål. Uppsatsen syftar till att undersöka hur den kreativa medarbetaren leds samtidigt som dennes kreativitet bibehålls. Vi har tagit fram en modell som behandlar samverkan mellan ledarens påverkan på vision och uppfattad kreativitetsmiljö, organisationskultur och den kreativa medarbetaren.

Syftet med vårt examensarbete är att ta reda på byggbranschens användande av, och vision om BIM. Vad är BIM ? Building Information Model?Kort beskrivet är BIM en modell där all information för ett byggprojekts hela livscykel kan hanteras. BIM förenklar det fortlöpande arbetet genom hela byggprocessen genom att tillhandahålla information om projektet som är relevant, uppdaterad, integrerad, fullt koordinerad och av hög kvalité.

Syftet med uppsatsen är att utforma en teoretisk nyckeltalsmodell som är lämplig att använda i ett producentkooperativ och som är anpassade för företagets vision och styrelsens intressen. Detta utför vi med hjälp av en fallstudie då vi valt ett kvalitativt och abduktivt angreppssätt. För insamling av empiri har vi i vårt fallföretag utfört djupintervjuer. De teorier vi valt att arbeta med är; agentteorin, nyckeltal, Balanced Scorecard samt producentkooperativ. Resultatet av vår insamlade empiri och den teori vi valt att fokusera på har mynnat ut i att vi har konstruerat ett Balanced Scorecard anpassat till ett producentkooperativ vilket underlättar uppföljningen mellan ledning och styrelse..

Better, more efficient fertilizers with great productivity and economic returns are needed, but it is important today to find fertilizers that are also sustainable. It is also important to carefully monitor their impact on the environment, including potential side-effects. In this context, the microbial communities that carry out numerous essential functions contributing to a functional ecosystem are of particular interest. The present study is a complement to a pot experiment that investigated the potential of different waste products for use as fertilizers and how they affect the microbial community. In the pot experiment, the clearest treatment change in microorganism community function was found in the fully fertilized treatment used as a positive control. The interest in businesses active on the countryside and their funding situation has increased in recent years. In a survey, conducted by Leif Berndtsson (2003), it was reported that there is a lack of external capital in rural areas. According to Berndtsson (2003) the lack of external capital inhibits the rural firm?s growth. The essay attempts to answer whether the shortage of external capital is a factor that inhibits development for rural businesses.

Mobile devices such as tablets and smartphones are quite common in this day. The author of this thesis wanted to know how common these mobile devices are in the building industry and how they are used and what potential an app could have. The author thus conducted an investigation on this matter, mainly in the form of interviews.Answers given by the interviews were then used as a basis to survey the usage of mobile devices and the usage of different kinds of apps. An investigation of different apps with the potential to be used by professionals in the building industry has been carried through. Tången 2 is a building situated in Stockholm, Sweden. It´s built in the 1930s and contains both residences and businesses. The property owner, Diligentia AB, wants to lower the energy use in Tången 2. This report consists of an energy audit which clarifies the specific circumstances linked to Tången 2. Collected knowledge is then used, together with the results from the literature study, to decide energy measures to proceed with.

This masters thesis investigates the relation between China and the Information Society as it is manifested in the UN conference the World Summit on the Information Society WSIS. The first phase of this two-phase conference took place in Geneva 10-12 December 2003, with two documents, Declaration of principles DP and Plan of action PA, as main results. The information policy is central to an authoritarian rule in its efforts to keep control over the national identity. The thesis investigates the impact that the information revolution and Internet might have on the Chinese national identity through the acceptance of DP and PA in various aspects. With the use of the information science theories by Manuel Castells and Frank Webster, the vision of WSIS was compared with the Chinese information policy.
