The purpose of this master thesis is to investigate if and how upper secondary school librarians can work in a more deliberately pedagogical way with fiction from the perspective of upper secondary school students. In the essay inspiration is fetched from phenomenography in order to determine the different perspectives that may exist amongst the students. In addition to the phenomenography, theories on how learning occurs, individual and social constructivism, are also included in the essay. In the essay three upper secondary schools are included. Interviews were conducted with the librarian of each school and with three students at each school.

This thesis explores how the city of Gothenburg integrates and use social capital, defined through factors such as trust and cooperative networks, in its crisis preparedness strategies and how this can enhance the city's collective resilience. The study aims to contribute to the understanding of how social capital can be leveraged to strengthen crisis management and resilience in urban environments. The research analyzes existing quantitative data from the SOM-Institute regarding residents perceptions and self-reported preparedness actions and reviews Gothenburg's official civil defense plan for 2024?2027. By examining various aspects of social capital, including levels of trust and cooperative networks across different city districts and age groups, the analysis focuses on how social bonds and community contexts are considered in planning for handling and recovering from potential crises.

In this study we examine five selected media organisations with different forms of productionplatforms that all appear in Stockholm's southern and western suburbs, which are part of themillion-construction project. Their stated ambition is to present an alternative image of thesuburbs than that found in mainstream media. They want to portray themselves instead ofconstantly being described by others.The purpose of the study is to gain a better understanding of the reason for the emergenceof these media, their visions according to the media producers themselves, and how theyrelate to mainstream media. The study is based on a theoretical framework that focuses ondiverse approaches of alternative media and the journalists' role in a democratic society.The wide data analysis from qualitative informant interviews, with small observations as acomplement, showed results indicating criticism against the misrepresentation of Stockholmsuburbs in mainstream media. Furthermore the results show that the overall dissatisfaction ofthis misrepresentation is one of the main reasons why the different media, which are bothrepresented by citizens and journalists, were founded.

Forskning med hjälp av mikroskopi har med tiden ställt merspecialicerade krav på utrustning som används. Utrustningenhar blivit mer bättre men samtidigt också dyrare. Enhög kostnad innebär att avancerad mikroskopi inte kan användassom ett utbildningsverktyg inom grundutbildning.Dagens studenter tvingas på så sätt förberedas för framtidensforskning genom att använda gårdagens utrustning.I detta arbete visar vi hur virtuell mikroskopi kan användasför utbildning och forskning. Virtuell mikroskopi kananvändas som komplement, eller möjligtvis ersättning, förbefintlig undervisning. Vi har demonstrerat detta genomatt utveckla en pilotapplikation som simulerar de två metodernaFLIP och FRAP.

Feedback från myrmarker vid en ökad temperatur i samband med klimatförändringar har diskuterats, bland annat eftersom myrmarker är en källa för metan till atmosfären. Det finns många faktorer som påverkar metanemission, och en av dom är vegetation. Olika sorts vegetation tros bidra olika mycket till avgivningen av metan. Syftet med denna studie var att undersöka hur stor betydelse det har att ta med olika växtsamhällens sammansättning i beräkningarna för att uppnå korrekta uppskattningar av metanemission från myrmark på ekosystemnivå.

From a view of health strategies and techniques this thesis wants to throw a light on how the individual in its"health thinking"is governed. A thinking that, according to the author, can lead to a new way of governing as in municipal activity, an activity whose focus is on health and ill-health. I vår uppsats har vi som syfte att kartlägga hur lokalaevenemang marknadsförs via Internet, för att sedan dra slutsatser om hur deraswebbplatser kan förstärka och förlänga upplevelsen för besökaren.Studien bygger på en kvalitativ metod där vi har gjort semistrukturerade observationer avåterkommande, större och lokala evenemang som låg nära i tiden för sitt genomförande.Den undersökningsmetod vi tillämpade var att utföra observationer med hjälp av ettschema. Detta schema var baserat på teorier och modeller från litteraturgenomgången. Iden teoretiska delen beskrivs teorier om Event marketing, Internetmarknadsföring,kundvärde, besökarens deltagande och engagemang samt hur upplevelser kan förlängas.I resultatet presenteras och analyseras de observationer vi har gjort och vi uttalar oss omtendenser och mönster.

"Adoption - but at what price?" SOU 2003:49 is a state report with the purpose to investigate different aspects around international adoptions, which brings up and discusses what supports there is for adoptive families in Sweden. With this background and a special attention towards adoptive children's health conditions when arriving to their new country we decided to study the subject adoption. By interviewing different professionals and volunteers that work with adoptive families in Sweden the aim with this study was to acknowledge how they look upon the support the Swedish community offers for adoptive parents and also how they consider the knowledge about adoption among those who in their line of work can meet adoptive children is.

Due to the forest industry downsizing, many communities in rural forest regions in Canada and Sweden are facing problems to survive. In order to create community sustainability, resilience and well-being in remote forest regions, the view on the forest resources has shifted towards multiple use, through the concept of sustainable forest management (SFM). Beside the economic and ecological elements of sustainability, the social forest values are needed, contributing to the human well-being, local participation, stakeholder collaboration, human rights and cultural connection. In this thesis the embodiment of the social component of SFM within Prince Albert Model Forest (Canada), and Vilhelmina Model Forest (Sweden) will be examined. Being partners and facing similar challenges as rural boreal forest regions, the two model forests are compared through analysis of projects and activities, conducted interviews and organization documents. Looking at projects mentioned as successful by the interviewees, they all have elements from the social values of SFM. The direction can be explained by the introduction of the Forest Communities Program in Canada, demanding the Model Forests to work towards community stability and resilience, the Model Forest organization concept itself and the way global focus are increasing around social forest values. In the future, it may be important that the role of the MFs enable some kind of political authorization and legitimacy in order to improve conflict solving and indigenous rights equality.
