In some criminal cases, the only existing evidence is the verbal statement of a witness or the plaintiff. The typical example is an alleged rape where victim and perpetrator have had some kind of relation, and their records of the incident differ. In these cases, the assessment of the value of the evidence drawn from the plaintiff's story is of crucial importance. On the one hand, a false positive judgment means that a person is wrongly convicted, on the other hand, a failure to correctly identify a truthful claim of rape means that a victim of a severe crime is left without judicial remedy. That the prosecutor must prove that the crime is committed by the defendant without reasonable doubt, means that there is much more chance of a failure to convict guilty felons, than of the opposite.In the essay, the rules of criminal procedure directed at the evaluation of the verbal statement are identified and critically evaluated from the perspective of how they may or may not facilitate the judgment of a verbal statement presented before the court, either in person, or through other media such as video.

This Master's thesis in Library and Information Science aims to explore if personal patterns can be detected in web-searching. It is based on a study where the search sessions of nine test persons were video-recorded, transcribed into logs and analysed.A major objective was to find out whether there is a correlation between individual searchers' personal attributes and their web search behaviour. The logs were therefore compared with the test persons' results in a learning style test (Kolb's Learning Style Inventory) and with interview answers about information behaviour and personal background.While several patterns were indeed discovered, none of them turned out to be strictly personal. The nine test persons could be divided into five types of searchers: the purely analytic searcher; the generally analytic searcher; the balanced searcher; the mixed searcher and the browser. All types of searchers were found to have the attribute learning style in common.

This master thesis is made of two parts. The first part concerns the method and results ofdesigning a motion control system for a piece of research-equipment called BIRGIT. Theequipment is made to be used for research on eyemovements. In the second part, a computermodel of a part of the balance organ in the inner-ear is developed. The work has been done atthe Bernadotte laboratory at S:t Erik Eye Hospital.The equipment the control system is made for is a so-called rotationchair.

Aim: The aim of this study is to investigate how context-specific and generic scaffolding affect upper secondary school students' conversations during laboratory work in chemistry and find out if meaningful exploratory conversations taking place that increase the students' understanding. Theory: Previous studies show that there are difficulties for students to both handle practical material in laboratory work and create meaningful conceptual understanding. It needs to be more minds on than hands on. This study has a socio-cultural basis where language is an important basis for thinking. Previous studies show that the exploratory conversation is important for creating understanding.

Vi lever i ett samhälle där det förekommer mycket stress. Barn upplever en ökad stress som kan vara relaterad till minskad fysisk aktivitet på grund av att allt mer av deras fritid ägnas åt tevetittande och dataspel. Detta gör att en dålig vana växer även bland de små barnen, som hellre vill sitta stilla än röra på sig. Utgångspunkten är vikten av att redan i förskolan skapa en önskan hos barnen att komma ut i utomhusmiljö och att de ska tycka att det är roligt och spännande att vara ute. Syftet med studien är att lyfta fram förskolepedagogers yrkesroll för sitt pedagogiska arbete på förskolegården.

In the report AR5, by IPCC, it is showed that the human impact of climate change is clear and that something has to be done. Therefore its very important to change the human impact. A part of it is to change the way we travel within the service which leads to the purpose of the thesis.

The objective of this paper is to estimate monetary and non-monetary costs for the huntercaused by deer-vehicle collisions in Sweden. These costs include losses in hunting value as wellas time and money efforts related to the handling of wildlife casualties. The calculations arebased on available statistics from 2004 on deer-vehicle collisions involving moose, deer, roedeerand wild boar and on telephone interviews with hunters involved in the tracking of injuredanimals. Altogether, the annual loss in hunting value for moose was assessed to approximately30 million SEK based on the 2004 accident statistics. For roe-deer and fallow deer, thecorresponding figure was approximately 56 million SEK and 1.2 million SEK, while wild boaraccounted for 1.3 million SEK, respectively.

As commonly known, Social Media is a rapidly growing area. Since consumers to a great extent are present in Social Media, this new internet environment is increasing in relevance for consumer marketing. For controversial brands that are regulated in conventional marketing channels Social Media is an extra ordinary marketing opportunity, since social media is a legal grey area. More and more controversial brands are taking advantage of this opportunity, but the effects of these marketing activities are fairly unknown. Therefore there is an interest in examining the controversial brands marketing progression in Social Media.

Detta arbete handlar om hur samtidskonsten uppmärksammas i skolan. Hur går det till, hur introduceras konstverk och konstnär, vilka frågeställningar arbetar man med? Vad betraktas som samtidskonst? Vad kan samtidskonsten tillföra? Hur fungerar samarbetet med konsthallar och museer?Jag har också velat undersöka hur man förhåller sig till frågorna om kreativitet och reproducerande. Blir arbetet mest reproducerande eller lyckas man hitta utgångspunkter så att arbetet verkligen blir en undersökande process? Detta har fått bli följdfråga.

I denna studie undersöker jag hur svenskämnet på gymnasiet lever upp till syftet som säger att eleverna i undervisningen ska få läsa andra texter än enbart skönlitterära och vars innehåll ska sättas i relation till elevernas egna intressen och erfarenheter. Texterna ska också vara en källa till självinsikt, utmana eleverna till nya tankesätt och öppna upp för nya perspektiv. Det blev därför intressant att undersöka om/hur texter av olika slag påverkar unga människors identitetsbyggande inom svenskämnet. Samtidigt visar tidigare forskning att skolan är dålig på att ta tillvara elevers medieerfarenheter i klassrummet. Syftet med studien är således att i intervjuer med nio elever undersöka hur elevernas medieerfarenheter ser ut och hur de vill att skolan ska tillvara på dessa:Hur använder eleverna medier för att uttrycka och utforska sin identitet? Hur ser eleverna på hur skolan tar tillvara deras medieerfarenheter i svenskundervisningen?Resultatet av undersökningen visar att svenskämnet i stort sett inte använder sig av texter hämtade från olika slags medieplattformar i undervisningen.

AimThe aim of the study is to gain insight into how physical education teachers reflect on peerassessment in Physical Education (PE). The study was limited to investigate teachers? conception of peer assessment. The study also examines whether teachers can describe anymethods of peer assessment that they use or have used in their teaching, and what strategic choices they talk about when they describe their methods.MethodQualitative interviews were used to collect data. The interviews can be referred to as in-depthinterviews with a particular focus on concepts.

Denna uppsats baseras på en undersökning där en jämförelse gjorts mellan serie- och filmformatet. Syftet med denna studie var att undersöka om kombinationen av bild och ord i serieformat kan användas som informationsbärare för till exempel elektroniska medier. Samt att undersöka vilka faktorer som påverkar användarens upplevelse utifrån en presentation via serie- ochfilmformatet. Frågor som ställs i studien är hur serieformatet upplevs som bärare i kommunikationssyfte, och vilka faktorer som påverkar användarens upplevelse av serie- och filmformatet.För studien valdes en kvalitativ metod i form av semistrukturerade intervjuer. För den jämförelse undersökningen baserades på valdes en instruktionsfilm som visar hur en hjärtstartare fungerar.
