The aim of this thesis is to examine expressions of power and racism in news reporting about the district of Rinkeby, Sweden, in two major Swedish newspapers. News articles are examined using Norman Fairclough?s three-dimensional model for critical discourse analysis. The discourse theory has also been complemented with theories of media in relation to power, ideology and racism. The study has shown that news reporting about Rinkeby largely focused on stereotypical subjects such as violence, social problems and crime.

Detta är en kandidatuppsats som presenterar en analys av ett spelföretag och dess verksamhet med fokus på gruppdynamik, ledarskap och projektledning. Uppsatsen är indelad i tre delar, analys, genomförande och resultat. Analys delen beskriver följande verksamhetsområden; hur gruppen anställda på Black Drop Studios agerar i samspelet med varandra, vilken typ av ledarskap som bedrivs, hur produktionen är strukturerad, vilka projektledningsverktyg och metoder som används. Genomförande delen beskriver olika åtgärder för dessa verksamhetsområden, för att göra dessa mer effektiva. Resultat delen beskriver vilka åtgärder som införts samt vilka som planerade att genomföras. Sammanfattningsvis har gruppen utvecklats till en mer högpresterande grupp med en större insikt i vad som påverkar deras sätt att fungera som ett team och deras behov ledarskap, verktyg och arbetsmetoder inför framtida projekt och utmaningar..

This paper deals with rights of women and their social role during the Viking Age. The method is to compare things and written material.In the written material, three cases of rape have been identified. How each of these cases where looked upon differs; legally the punishment for rape was exile. Violence against wives implied their right to divorce, whereby they were entitled to take with them a great part of the family´s capital, namely their dowry and morning gift.A husband and wife did not inherit each other but a widow could inherit from her children if they died without offspring.Women buried in boat graves indicate that they had a function or were closely involved in the cult. From two graves, the Aska Grave and the Oseberg Grave, the findings can be interpreted as indicating a change in the social behaviour.

"The choreography of fear" is a discourse-analysis study which focus at how young men speaks about fear, threat and violence in the public everyday life. The study adopts socialcontructionism as theoretical approach and also uses theories about gender, hegemony masculinity, fear as a social constructed phenomenon and moral-panic. Deferred rendering är en renderingsmetod som kan hantera scener med stora mängder ljuskällor och hög scenkomplexitet samtidigt. För att undersöka integreringen mellan procedurellt skapad terräng och en deferred rendering pipeline, skapades en applikation i DirectX 11 för att undersöka implementeringen och potentiella optimeringar av denna integration..

The most common reason for a horse owner to seek veterinary care for their horse is related to the musculoskeletal system. Assessment of the horse's movement pattern is essential in the equine veterinary work. How uniformly veterinarians evaluate the lame horse may have both diagnostic and prognostic significance, such as follow up examination by the same or different veterinarian. The purpose of this study was to evaluate whether there are between-veterinarian differences in assessing lameness in the same horse. In total 12 veterinarians evaluated 80 video sequences of 4 horses with induced lameness and made an evaluation of the affected limb as well as the degree of lameness.

Den 5 februari 2009 kablade media ut den video som i en handvändning kom att påverka hela den svenska poliskåren. Under det rättsliga efterspelet efter höstens kravaller i Rosengård framkom en videosekvens i vilken två polismän uttrycker såväl kränkande som rasistiska kommentarer om aktivisterna. Detta avslöjande ledde till att media började ifrågasätta hur allmänhetens tilltro till polisen ser ut, och hur det har påverkats av händelserna i Rosengård.I denna rapport presenteras hur man inom polismyndigheterna i Stockholms län och Västra Götalands län valt att angripa problematiken kring allmänhetens förtroende för polisen.Den mest uppenbara skillnaden som vi kunnat konstatera är att man i Stockholms län satsar på en utbyggnad av så kallade lokala postkontor, medan man i Västra Götalands län valt att fokusera på den enskilde polismannens synbarhet och närvaro. Båda arbetssätten har dock samma målsättning, att synas och integreras i övriga samhället för att därigenom öka förtroendet bland medborgarna..

Mass distribution with techniques as multicast and peer-to-peer are becoming increasingly important in the Internet. Today the distribution of sound and video over Internet, so called streaming media, is static due to the unicast method. This results in a linear increase of distribution costs and therefore no conditions for commercial scalability. This thesis describes why multicast may be the only scalable alternative for commercial mass distribution of streaming media over Internet. Mass distribution through peer-to-peer technology promises a lot but is fronting a couple of great challenges, for example asymmetric bandwidth, locality and legalization.

Detta kandidatarbete fokuserar på att undersöka aspekter som kan förstärka en användares upplevelse inom digitala spel. De aspekter som vi valt att fokusera på är användandet av Oculus Rift och Motion Capture då de tar upp viktiga punkter som Virtual Reality, närvaro och inlevelse i spel. Vi valde även att fokusera vår produktion mot skräckgenren då detta är ett område vi båda har stor passion för i diverse media. I vårt arbete har vi fått fram en hypotes om att spel som fokuserar på att lämna karaktären i ett tomt skal (ingen personlighet), lämnar en större chans för inlevelse hos spelaren då användarens egna känslor speglas på karaktären. Användandet av Oculus Rift och realistiska röresler via Motion Capture har en tendens att även stärka detta..

I denna skrift undersöks utvecklingssamtalet ur aspekter av bollspel. Med hjälp av traditionell bandy och vanlig tennis anges ett möte mellan spelare som å ena sidan en likhet i tiden och å andra sidan en likhet i rummet. Med hänsyn taget till dessa båda betraktelsesätt framskrivs en metod som syftar till att dechiffrera utvecklingssamtalandet som ett spelande, en metodik som inom ramen för ett verkligt fall tar stöd i den tidsgeografiska notationen.Resultaten visar på sex stycken samtalsämnen som bollas i utvecklingssamtalet: Pat sätter ramar, Enkäten, Uppnåendemål, Nya mål, Underskrift och 5 minuter åt annat. Frågeställningen om vad utvecklingssamtalet betyder anges i spelandet av dessa utvecklingssamtalsämnen oavsett vem spelaren är.Med studien introduceras de teoretiska begreppen liga och cup som ett sociologiskt begreppspar i betydelsen att de anger mötet som en dialektik mellan likheter. Om förtjänsten av dessa betraktelsesätt i studiet av sociala fenomen, andra än utvecklingssamtalet, kan endast korta ledtrådar ges..
