The Swedish prehospital/ambulance organization has the last decades evolved from a transport organization to a an organization that focus on alleviate and treating acute medical conditions in the field as well as transporting patient to the emergency ward. The ambulance service is developing continually and offers today a high-tech and highly specialized nursing/care. Which in turn demand a higher standard and competence on the care provider. Ambulance mission can vary in priority and magnitude. This in turn demand a high medical competence our capacity.

Thymidine kinase 1 (TK1) is an intracellular enzyme involved in ?the salvage pathway? where the uncomplete parts of DNA are transformed into DNA precursors. The expression of TK1 is cell cykle specific, with the highest level during S-phase when DNA-synthesis is most active. One kind of TK1 is present in serum and an increase in TK1 activity in serum is due to either the level of DNA synthesis in the body or the number of cells dying in a state of replication. This can be used and is used as a marker for prognosis and evaluation of treatment in human patients with leukemia and lymphoma.

Due to better nutrition, veterinary and overall care, pet dogs? lifespan has increased. With more old dogs we see more health problems associated with age, among those cognitive decline, leading to deficits in learning and memory, disorientation, anxiety and other altered behaviors. Cognitive decline can have severe negative impacts on the life of both dog and owner, when the dog for example forgets being housetrained or starts being awake at night. Two pet food manufacturers have developed food with specific ingredients in order to improve cognitive functions or delay the onset of cognitive impairment. The purpose of this study was to find knowledge about ostomy patients experience with a focus on overall life situation and the care they receive from the nurse. The method used was a systematic literature review according to Polit, Beck & Hungler. Six scientific research reports have been used as foundation of the result in this study. The articles have been reviewed according to Antonovsky's Sense of Coherence (SOC).The result shows that experiences of having ostomy are individual. Adapting to their new life situation varies depending on the reason for having an ostomy.

This paper discusses animal welfare, and Sweden, as an EU member state, has a responsibility toensure that official animal welfare inspections are carried out in accordance with communityregulations. The first of January 2009, the welfare moved from the municipalities in to the 21county administrative boards. This restructuring was made due to the deficiencies that the auditconducted by the EU of the FVO (Food and Veterinary Office) 2003 found in the Swedishsystem. Sweden failed in coordination and inspection to ensure animal welfare.The aim of this examination paper is to shed light on animal welfare work operated in the countyof Halland and in Sweden in general. The paper focuses on a few questions.

Hypertoni är idag en folksjukdom som berör många patienter i vården. Det är därför viktigt som sjuksköterska att ha kunskap om de olika behandlings-metoderna. Syftet var att studera vilka livsstilsförändringar som kan påverka hypertoni och att belysa sjuksköterskans roll vid de icke-farmakologiska metoderna. Fokus inriktades mot primärvården hos patienter som var över 18 år. Litteraturstudien är baserad på tio vetenskapliga artiklar. Resultatet kategoriserades i kost, övervikt, viktminskning, fysisk aktivitet, andning, stress, rökning och alkohol.

Bakgrund: I Sverige är det mer än 160 000 personer som insjuknat i demens och hälften av dem har Alzheimers sjukdom, som är den vanligaste demenssjukdomen. När diagnosen Alzheimers sjukdom ställts förändras patientens och anhörigas livssituation. Anhöriga tar på sig ett ökat omvårdnadsansvar och känner en större ängslan och oro för framtiden. Syfte: Att belysa anhörigas upplevelser av att vårda en person med Alzheimers sjukdom. Metod: Studien utfördes som en allmän litteraturstudie och sju vetenskapliga artiklar som motsvarade syftet granskades kritiskt och analyserades.

The purpose of this literature review is to gain knowledge of how a nurse can relieve a patient´s suffering and promote a patient´s health on his/her own without pharmacologic aid. The method is a literature review based on 10 scientific articles. The study is influenced by Antonovskys view of health. The result showed four clear themes: (1) reduced anxiety / worry and physiological effects, (2) well-being and quality of life, (3) steps towards self-care and (4) relations. Relaxation and massage proved to have calming and pain-relieving effects.

The conservation of great apes faces many challenges, one of which is the threat of infectious disease outbreaks. Zoonotic transmission of respiratory diseases from humans to wild great apes has recently been confirmed. Since respiratory disease is one of the major causes of death in both gorillas and chimpanzees, this gives reason for major concern. Little is known about the risks of disease transmission from humans to great apes in natural environments, and there is a need for systematic risk evaluation. Researchers, conservation staff and tourists spend time in very close proximity of wild great apes, sometimes during long time periods, which poses a potential risk of disease spillover. However, the presence of researchers and tourists has been shown to decrease the risk of poaching, making the matter increasingly complex.

Abstrakt: De flesta människor kommer någon gång i sitt liv i kontakt med vården och utsätts därmed för risken att möta en bristande patientsäkerhet. I sjuksköterskans roll ingår det att skydda patienter och medarbetare från detta. Tidigare forskning har indikerat att det finns ett samband mellan arbetsbelastning, arbetsmiljö och patientsäkerhet. Den aktuella studien bekräftade detta då författarna fann att då sjuksköterskor upplevde en hög arbetsbelastning och en sämre arbetsmiljö innebar det risker för patientsäkerheten..

During an endurance riding competition the onset of metabolic disorders leading up to elimination from the race are common. As many as 8,7 % of the horses participating in international endurance riding competitions are eliminated due to metabolic causes such as tachycardia, absence of borborygmi, hyperthermia and dehydration. To prevent the onset of metabolic disorders in the horse the rider must be able to determine the physiological and physical status of his or her horse. This requires good knowledge in nutrition, physiology and performance training. The risk of developing metabolic problems is reduced through the right feeding management and training.

BAKGRUND: I Sverige fick 57 830 personer en cancerdiagnos år 2013. I åldersgruppen 20 till 34 år rapporterades år 2012 cirka 1000 nya fall av cancer. Risken att insjukna i cancer ökar med stigande ålder men drabbar även yngre personer. Att insjukna i en cancersjukdom är för de flesta personer ett trauma. Unga vuxna befinner sig i en period av psykisk, fysisk, social och existentiell utveckling.

Phenylbutazone has been discussed in the world of the equestrian sport several times and different countries have diverse opinions on its use in competitions. The progressive list that permits phenylbutazone with plasma levels up to 8 µg/ml was presented at the FEI General Assembly in November 2009. The list was voted to be accepted, but later several countries realized the consequences and after protests the list was rejected and is going to be discussed again at the FEI General Assembly 2010. In this literature study I have studied the relationship between the concentrations of phenylbutazone in plasma and the effects on lameness. The purpose was to establish whether the limit of 8 µg/ml phenylbutazone in plasma affects the equestrian sport.

Camelids, especially alpacas, have increased in popularity during the last decade, with the result that they are more frequently encountered by field practicing veterinarians and pathologists. Knowledge regarding their health care and their diseases under Swedish conditions is, however, limited. This became clear in a postal survey among Swedish alpaca owners conducted in 2008. To improve knowledge about camelids in Sweden, this study has examined 107 necropsies, including 93 alpacas and 14 camels, conducted at the National Veterinary Institute (SVA) in Uppsala and at Eurofins in Kristianstad and Skara during the period 2001-2013. The study has shown that camelids in Sweden suffer from diseases similar to those previously reported in other countries in Europe and North America.

Hur personlighet och attribut påverkar arbetsprestation har längevarit ett aktuellt forskningsområde inom organisationspsykologin. Vipresenterar i vår studie Anknytningsteori, samt hur anknytningsstilaroch beteenden kan kopplas till arbetsrelaterade situationer ochproblem. Anknytningsteorin försöker förklara människorsinterpersonella relationstendenser. Med hjälp av mätinstrumentetAttachment Style Questionnaire (ASQ) undersöker vi poliser (n=50)och sjuksköterskors (n=83) anknytningsstil för att ge grund för vårahypoteser om yrkesdoktrinens påverkan på fördelningen avanknytningsstilar. Statistiskt säkerställda skillnader existerargrupperna emellan vad gällande anknytningsbeteende där poliseruppmäter högre värden på målinriktade delskalor och sjuksköterskorhögre på relationsbaserade.
