During the spring semester of 2009 I have participated in what was to become the project The Allotment Plot; a collaboration between the Swedish University of Agriculture and the Wanås Foundation. As one of six students in landscape architecture I have experienced a group based learning process with the point of departure in the designing of an organic and experimental kitchen garden at Wanås, a sculpture park for contemporary art. The project came out as neither us nor any other of the people engaged could have guessed. What was meant to be a garden turned out to become an entire cultivation movement. As students, we have gained a lot of experience through praxis; experience that will be valuable for our future profession. The project has also opened up the possibility to question and reflect upon what our profession and education could or should be about. This thesis focuses on the role of communication and the production of communicative tools in design processes and landscape architectural practice. It discusses how communication may be used in an exploratory and ?un-securing? way, and how this may dislocate the professional role, especially in situations where the design action, as in the case of this study, demands a high degree of transdisciplinarity and collaboration. .

An increased demand for processed goods on the property market has contributed toinvestments within the Swedish sawmill industry. The purpose with this study is to make amarket investigation of pre cut lengths within a defined geographic area. The constituent forthis investigation is HAL (AB Hilmer Andersson) who invests in a new plane facility and twofinger jointing machines in affiliation to their sawmill in Lässerud, the vest part of Värmland.To investigate the demand of pre cut lengths and identifies the value creating factors and costfactors which the customer within the segments industry and property market perceive, havedifferent customer value theories been used. Theories of customer value and the theory aboutoffering has been the source of creating the qualitative interview with a selection of currentand new potential customers for HAL.The result of the study first gives an introduction of HAL?s new offering and a description ofHAL?s current customers, which gives the reader an understanding of why searching for newcustomers is made in the defined area.

Examensarbete behandlar Piteås grönområden och vattenrum med fokus på Boverkets beskrivning av de sociala aspekterna, vilket menas hur vi människor använder stadens gröna rum. De ekologiska och kulturella aspekterna beskrivs dock även i examensarbetet, detta för att påvisa den samlade vikten av en stads gröna områden. Piteås grönområden har avgränsats till stadsnära rekreationsområden i form av stråk, motionsspår och friluftsområden samt vattenrum och parker. Examensarbetet innefattar även hur dessa ser ut och används vintertid. Genom inventering och analys av Piteås grönområden har det utkristalliserats vilka platser som bör få en ny utformning och nya användningsområden, nya förslag har därför utarbetats för dessa.

It is widely recognized that the town of Södertälje, a small Swedish town of 85 000 inhabitants, has alone received more war refugees from Iraq than the US and Canada have put together. Whilst writing this thesis had nearly 6000 Iraqi refugees sought their way to Södertälje since the US invasion in Iraq 2003.Nevertheless, life is not what the media and the government retail. Six of these Iraqi refugees who resided in Södertälje share their life stories in the following thesis. They discuss their escape from Iraq and the difficulties of living in the segregated parts of Södertälje where they solely speak Arabic and Assyrian, whilst learning Swedish at sfi (Svenska för invandrare, Swedish for immigrants). Another distress is related to the unsecure future in Sweden waiting ahead.      The aim of this thesis is to engage in, and highlight the studies of six sfi-students in their endeavor to learn Swedish, whilst struggling through Swedish bureaucracy and experiencing despair due to their situation and uncertain future.       .

This study was made to compare construction companies for gardens way to work with up following, with purpose to see if there was an efficient and not resource demanded system which gave much value. To achieve the purpose a case study was made. The delimitation for the case study was only to compare the work with up following on individual project. The delimitation on the companies in the study was from ten to sixty employees. That because to reach companies were it´s not the same person how calculates on tenders and than perform the projects. The study was delimitated to the west side of Skåne. T o be able to compare the companies and to find trends, an interviewguide was made and was used during the interviews with the companies.

The Tessin School is located 2 miles from the center of Nyköping and the schoolhouses approximately 900 students. To make a design proposal for the courtyard that lies atthe canteen I decided from the outset that I wanted to take some of the Tessin SchoolStudents' opinions and wishes regarding their own outdoor spaces. I had a workshop witheight students from the arts program with the image orientation in which they had to drawand tell them what they wanted to do in the courtyard. The outcome of the workshop, Iused to move forward in my future work with a concept that fit into the environment, wethen apply it in my final design proposal.

Projektet undersöker det lokala landskapet som potentiell värdeskapare i en tid av ekonomisk nedgång. Projektet utgår ifrån staden Venedigs planer på stadsförnyelse på den tidigare båtvarvstomten på ön St Elena. Metoden har varit att studera det befintliga och utifrån det försöka finna nya rumsliga lösningar på dagens och framtidens krav. Förslaget innefattar gestaltning av en planerad park och de två närmast angränsande kvarteren. Det består av en inplanterad biotop i form av en salt våtmark som är en viktig livsmiljö för djur och växter ute i lagunen.Det byggda tillägget är en träkonstruktion som fungerar som en länk mellan de tätare planerade kvarteren och det nya grönområdet.

En Urban Allmänning på Hornsbruksgatan. Kombinationshus med bostäder, T-bana och kontor .Sträcker sig över en 150 m lång slits på gatan.Uppdelad programmatskt med kommers i BV och bostäder ställda ovanpå som fria punkthus.Taket till kommersdelen/sockelvåningen ger tillbaka en park till stadsrummet. Det är den som är den urbana allmänningen.Byggnaden behandlar en höjdskillnad på c:a 6 meter från början av sockelvåningen till slutet. Därför varierar byggnaden i takhöjd vilket ger olika rumsligheter och skillnader i program som anpassats efter de olika höjderna. T.ex ett öppet andra våningsplan i västra delen som bidrar till dubbelt antal kontorplatser i frilanskontoret.Frågor jag ställt mig under processen var: Vad är en bostad idag? Vad är ett kontor idag? Vad kommer Hornstull att vara i framtiden med sin nya galleria? Vilka bostadstypologier råder i området?Dessa frgor har jag tagit i beaktande under förfarandet och kommit fram till en boendeform med yteffektiva och ljusgenerösa lägenheter i funkistyp.

Nybyggda parker och grönytor runtom i vårt land designas idag ofta utifrån ett slutgiltigt utseende. Med detta menas att en park som i slutändan förväntas domineras av tio stora ekar, planteras med tio ekar. Här finns det i stället en möjlighet att planera för förändring över tid, en långsiktig designprocess som tillåter andra uttryck att komma fram under vägen mot målbilden. Denna uppsats söker därför utforska hur vegetationsdesign och skötsel kan planeras så att de ger upplevelser kontinuerligt längs denna väg mot målbild. Tyngdvikten i denna uppsats kommer att ligga vid vegetationen under dess nyplanterade och unga år, då de fortfarande är plastiska och formbara. Naturlika planteringar, med Filborna Skogspark som exempel, kommer att undersökas.

Denna studie påvisar en signifikant skillnad i hur kvinnor och män uppger att de går och rör sig genom två studerade grönområden. Ett utfall som är förväntat utifrån tidigare forskning som menar att kvinnors rörelsemönster begränsas av ett upplevt, såväl som reellt, hot om våld. Teorin om brist på trygghet och dess inverkan på rörelsefriheten benämns rädslans geografi, men det är dock tveksamt om teorin rädslans geografi räcker för att förklara hela den skillnad mellan kvinnor och män som uppmätts. Att identifiera eventuella andra faktorer kopplade till könstillhörighet som påverkar rörelsemönstren blir en uppgift för framtida forskning. Studien är utförd genom att analysera enkätsvaren för grönområdena Kungsparken och Guldheden i Göteborg framtagna för projektet ?Värdering av ekosystemtjänster av urban grönska?. Analyserna är gjorda i ett geografiskt informationssystem genom att skapa ett index över tätheten av rörelser.

Bakgrund: På grund av bl a globalisering har förutsättningar för internationell verksamhet förändrats. Det är idag lättare att ta kontakt med andra länder vilket kan vara nödvändigt för att hålla en verksamhet vid liv. Även mindre företag ges möjligheter att etablera sig internationellt, trots att tillgång till resurser kan tyckas begränsa deras internationaliseringsprocesser. Syfte: Att undersöka mindre, teknikbaserade företags val av organisationsform vid internationalisering, vilka motiv som ligger bakom en internationalisering samt hur man väljer vilken utländsk marknad för en etablering. Resultat: Det som framkom från intervjuer gjorda med fyra företag belägna i Mjärdevi Science Park, Linköping, analyseras med hjälp av den referensram som baseras på vedertagna teorier kring företags internationaliseringsprocesser.

 Den här uppsatsen har skrivits i samband med ett examensarbete som jag gjorde på Shortfuse, ett företag under bildning i Gothia Science Park vid Högskolan i Skövde. Det som jag har gjort under examensarbetet var att ändra vissa befintliga spellägen och att designa helt nya spellägen till fightingspelet Colosseum. Målsättningen är att utveckla nya spellägen utan att lägga till eller ändra på befintlig spelmekanik.Resultatet av arbetet ledde till en lösning på hur målsättningen kan uppfyllas, nämligen genom att kombinera befintlig spelmekanik på nya sätt. Men jag kom fram till att det ändå inte går att designa något nytt utan att ändra på spelmekaniken åtminstone lite grann. Slutsatsen är att den positiva inverkan en idé skulle ha på spelet måste övervägas mot hur mycket det kostar i form av tid och pengar.Dessutom ledde arbetet till beskrivningar av tre olika metoder för att komma på nya idéer.

SAMMANDRAGLerums kommun har en vision om att bli Sveriges ledande miljökommun till år 2025 eller tidigare. En stor del av arbetet, som kännetecknas av hållbarhet, kreativitet och inflytande, sker i Gråbo. Det är idag en ort som känns bortglömd och är lätt att passera utan vetskap om dess placering. Samhället har såväl synliga baksidor som är i behov av förbättring och förnyelse, som outnyttjade tillgångar som bör lyftas fram.Syftet med föreliggande arbete är att ta fram förslag på hur Gråbo kan förbättras både med avseende på hållbar samhällsutveckling samt estetiska och funktionsmässiga förbättringar av samhället.Arbetet påbörjades med en faktainsamling, som sedan låg till grund för en inventering på plats i Gråbo. Detta sammanställdes till en analys där tillgångar och problem presenterades med hjälp av Adobe Illustrator till flera kartor.
