This Master's thesis aims to discover, understand and interpret how,with what results, and with what settings adults reading are investigatedin a series of nine Master's theses, written at The Swedish School ofLibrary and Information Science at the University of Borås 2000-2010.This Master's thesis is a meta-study that operates with theoreticalconcepts such as discipline, sub-discipline, research field,interdisciplinarity and with a qualitative research method calledanalytic induction. The results show that LIS - reader studies illustratevaried knowledge about adults reading that investigates with two mainapproaches - a general and a specific one - but with a common interestin two main categories: reading circumstances and reading effects andvalues. LIS ? reader studies show an instrumental perception of theborrowed theories for study of reading and their application and a lessepistemological justification of these in relation to LIS, as own researchfield. The problem area readers and reading is regarded withuncertainty as study topic in the LIS, and this attitude shows up, despitea depth theoretical awareness, a less intellectual self-awareness and amore pragmatic one..

The aim of this Master?s thesis is to identify and describe thedifferent roles that are expressed in a public library by researchingthem in the four policy documents concerning Västerås public libraryin 2010 and by interviews with three specially chosen key persons.Further studied are the discourses that can be perceived in thematerial and whether or not the roles could come in conflict witheach other. Laclau and Mouffes discursive theory constitutes themethodical frame for this thesis and by using terms from discursivetheory the analysis was made in four steps.Seven roles were identified from the policy documents concerningVästerås public library and the interviews with the key persons. Thefirst role of the public library was the intermediary of knowledge andinformation, the second was viewed as a democratic role, the third asa marketing role, the fourth as a role that handled the collaboration,the fifth role was to improve literacy, and the sixth and seventh roleswere as a culture centre and a meeting place. With the help fromkeywords five major discourses were found within the material.

Jakten på ripa är mycket populär bland svenska jägare och även bland jägare från andra länder. På grund av denna popularitet är rippopulationen på statens mark ovan odlingsgränsen och renbetesfjällen i Jämtlands län utsatta för ett högt jakttryck. Detta har lett till att jakten behöver regleras. Länsstyrelsen, som har uppdraget att upplåta småviltsjakten på statens mark, har i vissa samebyar infört kvotering genom lottning. Det innebär att max fem jägare per område och dag tillåts, vilka dessa jägare är avgörs genom lottning.

The purpose of this study is to survey how the Sweden Democrats? success in the latest election to the Swedish parliament has changed teaching in social science. The main question is: in what way has the success of the Sweden Democrats influenced social science teaching? This leads to following sub-questions: 1) how do the social science teachers define the Sweden Democrats, 2) how do teachers relate to the Sweden Democrats in the classroom, 3) has there been a change in students? political opinions and 4) were there any discussions or proposals from the school administration which followed the parliamentary election of 2010? To answer these questions, interviews were made with four teachers. The main conclusion of this study is that the Sweden Democrats? success led to a simplification of teaching because phenomena and opinions that were previously taboo nowadays are normalized and thus have its place in the classroom.

The aim of the study was to understand how an elementary school interpreted and worked with the law Skollagen (SFS 2010:800) concerning special needs in school additionally in which way a neuropsychiatric diagnosis might interact with the interpretation. To answer the aim we used following research problems: How does the school define the term special needs and special resources itself? How does the school identify pupils with special needs and work with them? In which way does the neuropsychiatric diagnosis affect the interpretation of the law concerning special needs when it comes to deciding whether a pupil is in need of special recourses? Skollagen (SFS 2010:800) does not define special recourses and does not indicate how the school should use them. We were therefore interested in how an elementary school defined the term and decided to work with it. We based our study upon interviews with 6 respondents whom are central in the process of providing special resources for children in school.

Detta kandidatexamensarbete gjordes mot bakgrund av rostangreppen på kam- och vevaxlar somägde rum sommaren 2010 på Scanias motorverkstad. Rosten på axlarna ledde till att ett stortantal axlar skrotades eller ompolerades, vilket kostade stora summor. Målet var att skapa rutineroch ta fram åtgärdsförslag för att reducera eller helst eliminera rostangreppen inför sommaren2011. De frågor som ställdes var:Vilken/vilka var grundorsakerna till rostangreppen semestern 2010 på kamaxlarna?Vilken/vilka var grundorsakerna till rostangreppen semestern 2010 på vevaxlarna?Används idag en korrekt process vid bearbetning av axlar (typ av tvättmedel,koncentration, fukt på axlar mm)?Hur ska axlar som ska stå i buffert under kommande semesterperioder hanteras?För att svara på de första två frågorna gjordes en processtudie, där slutstegen i kam- ochvevaxelprocesserna studerades.

This thesis examines the experience value of the wolf and wolf hunting presented in mediaduring December 17, 2009-Feruary 15, 2010. I analyze news articles, editorials and letters tothe editor in three newspapers. In order to investigate the experience value of the wolf and thewolf hunt, I have with inspiration from a model employed in the assessment of experiencevalue of tangible cultural heritage, developed a model which I use to analyze the mediamaterial according to the criteria of aesthetic value, identity value, value of tradition andsymbolic value. In order to analyze the results of the analyze, I employ experimental andsociocultural theory and method, which means that I assume the experiences of the wolf andthe wolf hunt as related to a social and cultural perspective that partly depends on how weidentify ourselves and what kind of experiences and understandings we have of the landscapeand large carnivores. Since media affects how we perceive our surroundings and the wolfhunting attracted much attention in media, I found it interesting to examine how the wolf andthe wolf hunt were displayed in news articles and letters to the editor.

BakgrundVi har förstått att elever i dagens skola inte ges möjlighet till att uppnå de mål som Skolverket satt upp genom kursplan (2000) och Centralt innehåll (2010) i matematik. Tidigare granskning av läromedel visar att det inte skett någon förändring av läroboken på 20 år och att den fortfarande har en styrande roll i klassrummet (Brändström, 2002). Detta leder till att eleverna får en ytlig kunskap inom matematik (Granberg, 1999). Det är av stort intresse att behandla frågor som berör metodiskt upplägg samt arbetssätt av läroböcker, detta kan ha betydelse för undervisningen i matematik (Anderberg, 1987).SyfteVi undersöka hur matematikboken Matte direkt. Borgens (2003-2005) innehåll ger eleverna möjlighet att uppnå det centrala innehåll som är uppsatt för grundskolan, årskurs fyra till sex (Skolverket, 2010).MetodVi har använt oss av kvantitativ innehållsanalys.ResultatVi kom i undersökningen fram till att Matte direkt.

Kränkande behandling är ett utbrett problem både i förskolan och i samhället som stort och det finns en mycket begränsad mängd forskning kring kränkande behandling i förskolan. I Skollagen (SFS 2010:800) finns tydligt fastslaget att arbete mot och förebyggande av kränkande behandling ska genomföras redan i förskolan men trots detta ter det sig som att det finns en förvirring bland förskollärare rörande vad kränkande behandling är. Syftet med denna undersökning är att utreda vilka uppfattningar förskollärare har om begreppet kränkande behandling och hur de uppfattar att kränkande behandling kan yttra sig. Kvalitativa intervjuer med tre förskollärare på tre olika förskolor inom en kommun har använts som metod för att nå undersökningens syftet, varefter jämförelse gjorts med Skollagen (SFS 2010:800). Resultatet visar att det finns behov av ytterligare kunskap hos förskollärare kring kränkande behandling.

Studiens syfte är att analysera två barnbokskaraktärer, Pippi Långstrump och Lilla Hjärtat, deras böcker och den debatt som efterföljt dem. Frågor som ställts är hur etnicitet konstrueras och beskrivs i barnbokslitteraturen. Samt vad som i huvudsak problematiserats i debattartiklarna, vilka idéer kring etnicitet som återfinns och vilka likheter och skillnader som finns mellan Pippitriologin och böckerna om Lilla Hjärtat. Barnböckerna är utgivna på 1940-talet respektive 2010-talet. Studien har genomförts med en text- och bildanalys av barnböckerna samt en idéanalys av debattartiklarna.

Syftet med uppsatsen har varit att genom en jämförande studie mellan fyra svenska tidningar ta reda på hur bevakningen av svenska kungliga bröllop har förändrats mellan 1932 och 2010. De bröllop som studien behandlar är de mellan arvprins Gustav Adolf och prinsessan Sibylla, kung Carl XVI Gustaf och Silvia Sommerlath, samt kronprinsessan Victoria och Daniel Westling. Uppsatsen har sin teoretiska utgångspunkt i Vladimir Propps sagomorfologi och journalistikens dramaturgi. Nyhetsvärdering, partipress, kommersialisering och sensationsjournalistik är något som också diskuterats. Frågorna som ställts har varit hur materialets mängd, vinkel, textinnehåll och bildmotiv förändrats över tid, samt om det funnits skillnader tidningarna emellan.Uppsatsens undersökning är i grunden kvantitativ, men har ett övergripande kvalitativt perspektiv.

Previous research shows that Sweden has developed into a segregated society, although it has never been completely homogeneous. A greater integration led to vast number of diverse cultures and religions; therefore the Muslim custom came closer to the Swedish society.The purpose of this thesis is to study how Muslims were portrayed during the incident in Landskrona in March 29 2010 and the bomb threat in Gothenburg in October 31 2010. The study also focused on what Muslims themselves think about the news reporting that followed.We based our study on a qualitative textual analysis and a dialogue with selected people. Six news articles from various newspapers were analyzed and a total of eight persons were included in the dialogues. The study shows that news reporting has been simplified and misleading.During the incident in Lanskrona the newspapers headlined it as a murder even though the accused had not yet been sentenced at the time.

The purpose of this paper is to investigate the existence of the discipline Design Thinking in a project that aims to strengthen Sweden as a brand. The study will generate knowledge about Design Thinking, with the purpose to increase the understanding of how the discipline can be used as a strategic tool in the processes of strengthening Nation Branding. The authors have used a descriptive and qualitative approach where the Shanghai World Expo in 2010 was examined. The theoretical framework contains previous research in the field, data has been analysed in relation to Lockwood's ten principles of how an organization can become more design-minded and Anholt?s hexagon, which features the parameters that creates a country's Nation Branding.
