This study investigates verbal and visuospatial memory strategies used by individuals with perceptual or cognitive disabilities. The groups concentrated on in this study are deaf individuals who are native sign language users and individuals with dyslexia. The study comprises an experiment and an in-depth study in which a pre-test and a questionnaire were used. Nine deaf signers, two persons with dyslexia and 12 persons without any perceptual or cognitive constraints participated. Of these 23 persons, seven were selected to take part in the in-depth study.

SEXUAL VIOLENCE AMONG ADOLESCENTS A literature study about adolescents who harm themselves through sex and measures to prevent that form of sexual violence Abstract Adolescents can harm themselves through sex by taking sexual risks such as sexual exposure on the internet, having unprotected sex and put themselves in situations where the potential for sexual violence is great. This type of sexual risk-behavior can create negative consequences and result in physical and mental sexual abuse. The aim of this study is to raise knowledge about youth who harm themselves through sex and measures to prevent that form of sexual violence. To accomplice this we made a general literature study on national and international research. Our study shows that despite the negative consequences, adolescent?s sexual risk-taking continues.

Background:Homeless persons who suffer of mental illness are one group which is marginalized worldwide. Homeless people have a fragmentary contact with healthcare and many of those who have drug abuse problems and mental illness are still undiagnosed. Still, this is not their only issue when various state agencies argue about who will take responsibility for this persons. Aim: To describe the factors that are perceived supportive or restrictive by homeless people with mental illness. Method: The material has been gathered via systematic and unsystematic searches and the study was designed as a literature review.

Syftet med studien var att öka kunskapen om och förståelsen för hiv-smittade narkomaner i kriminalvård. Den övergripande frågeställningen löd; Hur beskriver ett mindre urval av hiv-smittade narkomaner i föremål för kriminalvård sina tankar och känslor kring sin sjukdom och sin livssituation? Studien var av kvalitativ design och den vetenskapliga positionen av hermeneutisk karaktär. Det empiriska materialet bestod av intervjuer med fem hiv-smittade narkomaner i kriminalvård. Tre teman var grundläggande i intervjuerna; Tankar, känslor och reaktioner kring hiv-diagnosen, Existentiella frågor, drivkraft och copingstrategier samt Bemötande i och utanför kriminalvården.

Syftet med detta arbete har varit att undersöka vad god kommunikation kan innebära för positivt lärande samt beröringens betydelse för kommunikationen sett ur ett lärarperspektiv. Vi har arbetat utifrån frågorna: - Vad är god kommunikation? - Vad innebär god kommunikation för elevers lärande? - Arbetar lärare medvetet med fysisk kontakt för att förbättra kommunikationen med elever? Metoden har bestått av en triangulering, där den teoretiska bakgrunden har varit ett stöd vid utförandet av observationer och intervjuer. Observationerna har genomförts i klasser där vi har observerat lärares sätt att kommunicera med elever. I anslutning till observationerna har vi intervjuat läraren om hennes syn på kommunikation, närhet och beröring.

Bakgrund: Samtal om övergången från en botande behandling till palliativ vård kan vara svårt. Sjuksköterskan har en central roll i omvårdnaden och att kommunicera med patienter är betydelsefullt för omvårdnaden av döende patienter. Livets slut är ett känsligt ämne att samtala om och lätt att undvika. Detta kan bero på bristande erfarenhet, utbildning, tidsbrist och rädsla inför ämnet.Syftet med studien var att beskriva sjuksköterskans upplevelse av samtal med vuxna patienter i livets slutskede.Metoden var en allmän litteraturstudie, som byggde på tretton artiklar.Resultatet visade upplevelser som påverkade sjuksköterskan i kommunikationen med patienter i livets slutskede. Till exempel rädslan att ta ifrån patienten hoppet, brist på utbildning, erfarenhet och tid.

AbstractThe purpose of my study is to examine the experiences and opportunities to support teachers in preschool to help children in vulnerable environments, a good self-esteem. Hindberg (1999) writes that of all children today are growing up in Sweden, so ten percent live in families where there is abuse. According Pousette (2011) as the National Public Health Institute has a new appreciation for families where there is hazardous and this means that drinking or abused so much that it can become an addiction. They appreciate the investigation that twenty percent of all children in Sweden are growing up in these conditions.The results show that teachers' work is about building a sense of security in the children, both the teacher and the environment. It also shows that teachers believe that it is important to work with the self-esteem of all children, but especially children living in abusive families.

Title: How do you get a pupil from Year 7-9 in secondary school to communicate in German?  Five high school teachers views on how to develop pupils oral communicative skill within the German language The aim of this essay is to explore Swedish secondary school teachers, from Year 7-9 in the German language, opinions regarding which work models and verbal strategies that are used and taught in order to foster the pupils oral communicative skill in the classroom. To achieve this aim, semi-structured interviews with five teachers are used.The results show that the teachers find that they encourage the pupils to speak German through creating possibilities for them to practise their oral language skills. The teachers also emphasize that they believe that alternating assignments in groups or pairs, where the students get the chance to be creative, activates the pupils to speak German the most. They also express an awareness for the fact that open or information questions encourage the pupils to use their creativity and speak more German.

Facial expressions are a part of our body language that helps us to clarify the verbal communication between humans. We use our facial expressions every day, both consciously and unconsciously, to express emotions and attitudes depending on the situation. The hypothesis of the study is: Given a facial expression, how well can Microsoft Kinect, as an input method, determine a person?s feelings with the two algorithms Naive Bayes and Sequential Minimal Optimization? The feelings are limited to happy, sad, surprised and disgusted. With the help of Kinect, a person?s facial data, both coordinates of the face and parameterized data, were saved and used for machine learning.

Swedish school children's results have deteriorated in recent years and formative assessment is, in accordance with previous research, a way to develop students' learning and performance. A part of formative assessment is based on feedback that students should receive before, during and after a new assignment. In this study, we want to find out how students and teachers apprehend students' development in relation to feedback and what general attitudes towards feedback can be seen in both parties. The literature and theory discussed is linked to formative assessment, both at international and national level where many important aspects of formative assessment are essential in relation to pupils' further development. The theories are based heavily on human interaction and socio-cultural perspective as a concept.

Syftet med vårt arbete har varit att undersöka hur elever i en femteklass uppfattar och upplever fyra olika lektioner, som vi utformat utifrån fyra av Howard Gardners intelligenser, såsom verbal/ lingvistisk, logisk/ matematisk, visuell/spatial och kroppslig/kinestetisk. I vårt arbete presenterar vi den teoretiska bakgrund och forskning som är relevant för vår undersökning. Vår materialinsamling har skett genom skriftligt besvarade frågor, lektionsobservationer, elevarbeten och elevintervjuer. I arbetets resultatdel har vi sammanställt och analyserat elevernas svar och arbeten, vi har utifrån dessa tolkat hur de har uppfattat respektive upplevt lektionerna. I diskussionen resonerar vi vidare kring våra resultat och analyser. Eleverna som deltagit i vår studie var överlag positiva till alla de olika lektionsmomenten oavsett hur de var utformade. Det de lade störst vikt vid var huruvida lektionerna var varierande eller inte.

Det finns ett klart samband mellan komplex traumatisering och psykisk och fysik ohälsa. Många människor har stora problem med det dagliga livet och relationer. Förutom det personliga lidandet är effekterna av komplex traumatisering av stor samhällsekonomisk betydelse. Syftet med studien är att undersöka psykoterapeutisk behandling av traumatiserade patienter inom icke specialiserade enheter. Frågeställningarna i studien är: Vad innebär effekterna av komplex traumatisering för individen? Vilka är terapeuters upplevelse av att arbeta med komplext traumatiserade individer? Får individer med diagnosen komplex PTSD den hjälp de behöver? Den metod som använts är en kvalitativ studie där sex legitimerade psykoterapeuter med psykodynamisk inriktning intervjuas.

INTRODUCTION: Attempted suicide is very common. Those who arrive to a hospital by reason of attempted suicide need a nurse with qualifications in the care of suicidal patients. OBJECTIVE: The aim of this study was to compile and elucidate research which describes how patients in care for their attempted suicide experience the care that is received. METHOD: A literature review was chosen for this study. Scientific articles sought in the database CINAHL.

 This bachelor?s thesis purpose is to examine how library staff experiences the meeting with non-Swedish speaking users of public libraries, and how they solve different situations. Today there is not much research on this subject but we find these questions important to study because we think it is good to be aware of the situations that can arise and discuss how to solve any problems. To have a basis for this qualitative study we conducted group interviews with library staff, where they are asked about their experiences with non-Swedish speaking users. In the analysis the results of the interviews are compared to previous research and related to communication theory, which is the theoretical framework for this study.
