Today more effective computer programs are in use, regarding design of geotechnicalconstructions. There is a risk that the theoretical background of the computerprograms, its limitations and the signification of the choice of soil parameter isforgotten when the computer programs become more user-friendly.This Master thesis deals with simulation and analysis regarding three computerprograms, FEM-design, with the addition Raft, Plaxis and BE-slab. Comparisons aremade for settlement and maximum moment in a concrete-plate. FEM-design is a threedimensional FEM-program, foremost created for design engineers. Plaxis is a twodimensional FEM-program, intended for geotechnical engineers while BE-Slab is aBoundary elements program in two dimensions that is mainly used by designengineers.

Målet med denna studie är att utveckla en adapterprototyp mot en öppen energiplattform och dokumentera utvecklingsprocessen. Fokus ligger på att integrera Philips Hue, ett system för styra trådlösa lampor mot plattformen Elis (Mobile services for energy e ciency in existing buildings). Inom en begränsad tidsram så ska vi sätta oss in i två främmande system till en sådan grad att vi kan skapa kommunikationen mellan dem. Inledningsvis krävs det att vi läser dokumentation och att vi jobbar fram en arbetsplan. Vidare kommer vi lösa den adaption som krävs för att värden mellan det två systemen överensstämmer och fungerar.

Effects of Menstrual Cycle and Oral Contraceptives on Sport Performance During the menstrual cycle, there is a variation of the female steriod hormones estrogen and progestogen. These hormones has mainly reproduktive functions, but do also affect other physiological systems, which may have an influence on athletic performance. The use of oral contraceptives among female athletes matches the use among the general population. There is a concern among female athletes and there coaches weather oral contraceptives can affect the performance. The purpose of this litterature review is to determine the effect of the menstrual cycle and the use of oral contraceptives on athletic performance.

Noninvasiv ventilatorbehandling är en vanligt förekommande behandling på intensivvårdsavdelningarna. Intensivvårdssjuksköterskor möter ofta patienter med denna behandling. Forskning kring området menar att de flesta patienter kräver någon form av sedering för att tolerera behandlingen. Det är därför viktigt att intensivvårdssjuksköterskor har en medvetenhet om hur patienterna upplever behandlingen, något som kommer med erfarenheter. Syftet med studien var att beskriva intensivvårdssjuksköterskors erfarenhet av att vårda patienter med noninvasiv continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP)-behandling.

We have been looking at three different types of agriculture in Södermanland, in the middle east of Sweden. We call the different types for Intensive, Extensive and Mix. The purpose is to get an economic defensible plan for how to run different farm sizes. We also have been looking at the working hours and how many hours the different types will give. We have a farm called Taxinge Gods as our pilot farm. Taxinge Gods grow 407 ha land and is located 60 km southwest from Stockholm.

When creating a good lighting design it is crucial to know how different types of lamps work. Knowing what kind of light they emit and in which situations they work well is also very important. In this master thesis I present different types of lamps and give an account of how light is spread through the different shapes of luminaires, reflectors, filters and so on. I write about how our eyes register radiation and connections between lighting and how it makes us experience space. Furthermore I deal with the effect of artificial light on living organisms and the environment. After the theoretical studies I deal with the places I have visited to study how different lamps and luminaires work and look like in existing lighting designs. These visits have also been inspirational to my lighting proposal for Bokenäs. Bokenäs is Volvo?s resort and conference center which is situated on the Swedish west coast.

En jämförelsestudie har genomförts mellan två värmesystem. Analysen har genomförts med ett flerbostadshus som referensfasighet. Fastigheten är lokaliserad i Södertälje kommun. Analysen går ut på att bestämma vilket värmesystem som är fördelaktigt vid renovering av äldre flerbostadshus med avseende på energi och kostnad. De systemen som har behandlats är ett centralt värmesystem med motströmsvärmeväxlare och ett centralt värmesystem med frånluftsvärmepump.Det centrala värmesystemet (Eq aggregat) är ett centralt från- och tilluftssystem med återvinning (FTX system).

Om man vill minimera behovet av köpt energi är det bästa sättet att se till att så lite värme och luft som möjligt läcker ut ur byggnaden. En betydande del av värmen i byggnader med normal standard går förlorad genom det omgivande klimatskalet, det vill säga genom tak, väggar, fönster, dörrar och golv. Hög lufttäthet i en byggnad ger bättre lönsamhet genom att den skapar en bättre inomhusmiljö och ger lägre energianvändning. Det krävs normalt tillskott av energi för att balansera energiförluster av olika slag. En byggnads energianvändning är den energi som köps in för normalt brukande under ett normalår och fastighetsenergi.

An era ended in 1920 when the Walloon ironworks village of Strömsberg closed. The Wallon people had lived on the spot for 300 years and influenced the region was a lot. The kitchengarden in Stromsberg was a gardencenter 1920-50. The count´s good profits made him reinvest a lot of capital in the Wallon ironworks village to make it better and to construct forges, buildings and gardens. The kitchen garden´s history in Stromsberg started in 1660-70s, when Johan Vervier, built Strömsbergs first manor house.

The housing sector uses 40 % of the energy in Sweden and half of the electricity usage. Theuse of energy is the main reason to the increasing rate of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.This is the main motive but also a wish of higher safety, that is a higher rate of selfsufficientenergy production in Sweden, we want to decrease the need of using fossil fuel. Now whenthe energy price rise, the interest in energy issues increase and more people discuss thepossibility of reducing the usage of fossil fuel. A change to renewable energy such as sun,wind and water is the only solution where we can get a sustainable development.One way to contribute to a better use of energy is to build in the principle of passive house.The house is being built with a thick and tight insulation. If you use a heat-exchanger withhigh degree of efficiency and a final heating battery on the ventilation system, the heat fromlamps, devices and the ones living in the house should be enough to fulfil the criteria ofliving.

Detta arbete innefattar en undersökning av Hotell Inlandia i Norsjö på uppdrag av Norsjö kommun för att hitta de delar som är gamla, ineffektiva och dåliga för att sedan ta fram förslag på förbättringar för att minska energiförbrukning, kostnader och förnya vissa delar.De delar som undersökts är:? Värmekällan? Värmesystem, radiatorer? Fönster? Ventilation? Vattenflöden i duschar och kranarEn undersökning av fönster och beräkning av värmeförluster genom dessa har gjorts för att se hur mycket uppvärmningsbehovet kan minska genom att byta till nya fönster med lägre värmegenomgångstal, U-värde. En offert har tagits fram på nya fönster som använts för att jämföra med de gamla och genom att byta till nya fönster kan det faktiska årliga energibehovet minska med ungefär 33,8 MWh per år och för att förstå ungefär hur mycket det är så kan det jämföras med energiförbrukningen i en genomsnittlig svensk villa som ligger på 25 MWh per år.Beräkningar har gjorts på dusch- och kranmunstycken för att se hur mycket besparingar som skulle kunna göras genom att byta ut gamla munstycken med högt flöde till nya vattensparande. Genom att byta ut de gamla duschmunstyckena som släpper ut ca 19 liter vatten per minut mot nya effektiva som släpper ut ca 6 liter per minut kommer uppvärmningskostnaderna för vattnet genom duschning att minska från 3800 kronor till 1194 kronor. Detta gäller om det bor två personer i ett rum som duschar 10 minuter per dag i ett helt år.

The report also presents possible solutions to prevent the occurrence of defects. It also covers the issue of how the client looks at Peabs way to overcome the objections of warranty inspections. The report has the following issues:?What are the most common errors observed during the warranty inspection??What are the causes of complaints??What can be done to reduce the number of complaints??How the customer thinks that the complaints be addressed?Twenty-five Guarantee survey records from the projects Peab has done in recent years has been the starting point for the investigation.

Dystocia, or difficult birth, is a commonly seen complication to natural birth in veterinary hospitals. Although other methods of resolving dystocia exist, 60 % of dystocias will need to undergo caesarean section. To perform a caesarean section, the bitch will have to undergo anesthesia. The purpose of this literary study was to provide a deeper understanding regarding how the physiologic changes that occur during pregnancy influence anesthetic management in the bitch and puppies. Which anesthetic drugs and drug combinations indicated was also investigated as well as how a veterinary nurse can optimize care of the mother throughout the procedure and how resuscitation of the puppies should be carried out for best possible outcome.

Radon is a hazardous substance that cannot be perceived by our senses. It has long been known that exposure to high radon levels for a long period of time will ultimately cause lung cancer. The Swedish Radiation Safety Authority estimates that 500 people die annually due to this. Although most of them are smokers, even non-smokers suffer from lung cancer caused by radon. The statutory value for radon in homes today is 200 Bq/m³.

Kvinnor upplever mer halsont än män efter endotracheal intubation. Smärtan skattas postoperativt enligt visuell analog skala (VAS), det är riktat gällande smärtan till följd av det operativa ingreppet. Smärtskattning gällande halsont efter endotracheal intubation existerar inte. Tidigare studier har visat att en smalare diameter på endotrachealtuben (ETT) har minskat skattning av halsont postoperativt. En smalare ETT har visat sig kunna innebära att gasflödet genom tuben hindras samt att den lättare kan täppas igen av sekret.
