Hur fungerar en glaselektrod?

To understand the glass electrode needs knowledge from more than one level. The construction ofthe glass electrode is one part, an other is the composition and structure of glass. This master thesis concerns the relation between law and the theory of the conceptual metaphor which has developed within cognitive linguistics. Although its main focus is abstract thinking, it also covers a wide range of aspects within cognitive linguistics, such as the prototype theory and radial categories. In order to address this relation, three questions will be dealt with. Firstly, does the theory of the conceptual metaphor have relevance to interpretation of legal rules and contracts? Secondly, can the same theory explain why a legal rule or a contractual term has been interpreted outside of its most given area of application? Thirdly, when an interpretation is not predictable from a legal viewpoint, can such an explanation answer to that fact? Answering the first question will require a descriptive analysis of the conceptual metaphor and cognitive linguistics.

Demokrati och den retoriska kunskapens potential : Ett retoriskt perspektiv på deliberation

This study investigates the potential of a rhetorical theory of knowledge to expand beyond its own domain and into political theory, specifically theories of deliberative democracy. Despite the increasing interest in communication in democratic theory in the last decades, the majority of theorists have not turned their interest towards rhetorical science. On the contrary, theorists often regard rhetoric as dangerous and incompatible with the deliberative ideal of reason. The aim of this study is therefore to defend rhetorical science by investigating how the rhetorical theory of knowledge ? as it is presented by Chaïm Perelman and Oldbrecht Tyteca, and further developed by Mats Rosengren and Maria Wolrath Söderberg ? can contribute to the understanding of deliberative democracy.

Högläsning i förskoleklass : En studie om fem pedagogers arbete med högläsning

The purpose of this paper is to explore how masculinity and femininity are constructed in the magazine Veckorevyn, through a critical discourse analysis of 18 articles from six issues in 2011. This is done by using a variety of theories and previous research results, which is gender theory, the theory of late-modern society and media theory. The analysis shows that Veckorevyn depicts virility and feminine differently. Furthermore, pointing the results from the analysis that a change of manhood and womanhood takes place in the social practice. The selection of articles from the magazine also shows that Veckorevyn seems to promote gender equality. .

Vad har hänt sedan sexköpslagen trädde i kraft? - En kvalitativ undersökning om attityder till prostitution och samhällets insatser för kvinnor som vill lämna prostitutionen

Since 1999 Sweden have a law that criminalises the person who buys sexual services instead of criminalising the one who is selling, which in most cases is a woman. Seven years has passed since this law took place and in this study we aim to investigate what kind of help the society offer women in Malmö, Sweden, who wishes to step out of prostitution. Our aim with this study is also to look at the attitudes among citizens towards the new law and prostitution. The research is qualitative and all the six persons we interviewed has knowledge about the problems the women are facing when they want to step out of prostitution. To explane and analyse the answers we are using the theory of empowerment, labelling theory, the theory of gender socialisation and Jürgen Habermas theory of the lifeworld.The most significant outcome of this study shows a positive result in regard of the laws effectiveness in diminishing street-prostitution to half of what i t was before the law was put into practice.

The purpose is to investigate the importance of play for children's learning in preschool from a pedagogue?s perspective. The study is based on two issues: How does the pedagogue´s who were interviewed reason about the impact the play has on children's development? How does the pedagogue´s approach to make play a learning situation? The empirical data is based on semi-structured interviews with four preschool pedagogue´s.

I also wanted to know how teachers are working to make it easier or students with communication apprehension. After that I put the teacher?s answers in contrast to the theory. I used qualitative interviews as the method.

"Det blev för mycket Strindberg" : -Lärares resonemang kring sin litteraturundervisning

This study aims to show how teachers talk about their teaching with regards to gender in relation to literature.We have interviewed four teachers of Swedish for upper secondary school to discover how they feel about, and understand, the fact that gender is a factor in the teaching of literature and that they should present to the students literature written by both male and female authors. To analyze the interviews we use Sannersted's (1991) theory about teachers as street-level-bureaucrats ("närbyråkrater"). He states that teachers are persons who have to follow what politicians have decided but they are fairly free to choose how they do it, but to be able to follow a decision as closely as possible three qualifications have to be met. The teachers have to understand the decision, be able to follow it and want to follow it. We find that the teachers that we have interviewed are aware that they discuss gender issues with their students and they all claim that they present a variation of authors to their students.

Kreativitet, variation och pedagogiska floskler : Diskursiva mönster i samtal med sex gymnasielärare om estetiska lärprocesser

Det här arbetet har undersökt hur sex gymnasielärare med olika ämnesprofil diskuterar ochsamtalar kring estetiska lärprocesser. Resultatet utgår från två fokusgruppsintervjuer på två olikagymnasieskolor i sydvästra Sverige. Syftet har varit att genom samtalen få en bild av hur lärarnakonstruerar och legitimerar estetiska lärprocesser i klassrummet samt att utifrån diskussionenidentifiera de diskursiva mönster som framträder i samtalen. Arbetet tar sitt avstamp isocialkonstruktionism och använder diskursanalys som vetenskaplig metod. I analysenframträder fyra diskurser kring vilka lärarna diskuterar de estetiska lärprocesserna.

Bisatsanvändning i vuxna andraspråksinlärares skriftliga produktion : En jämförelse i variation och frekvens hos L2-och L1-inlärares användning av bisatser

Denna studie har som syfte att betrakta hur bisatsanvändning hos vuxna avancerade inlärare av svenska som andraspråk ser ut jämfört med inlärare med svenska som modersmål; detta med avseende på både frekvens och variation.För att besvara mina två frågeställningar angående först frekvens och sedan variation har jag valt att granska uppsatser skrivna av L2- och L1-komvuxstuderande som har gått de högskolebehörighetsgivande gymnasiekurserna Svenska som andraspråk B respektive Svenska B på Komvux. Uppsatserna är skrivna som en del i det nationella prov som inlärarna har deltagit i vid slutet av kursen.För att bevara reliabiliteten för denna undersökning har jag utgått ifrån en definition och indelning av bisatser som presenteras i Svenska akademiens grammatik, kallad SAG, och Svenska akademiens språklära, kallad SAS. Genom att söka de bisatser som inlärarna använder och sammanställa dem i jämförelsetabeller har jag lyckats med att kontrollera och jämföra de olika bisatsgrupper och bisatsinledare som L2- respektive L1-inlärare använder.Undersökningen visar att det finns skillnader i bisatsanvändningen mellan dessa två inlärargrupper men att skillnaderna inte är avsevärt stora. Jämfört med L1-texterna har bisatser i L2-texterna högre frekvens vilket kan bero på att L2-uppsatserna i genomsnitt är längre, 800 ord/text gentemot 700 ord/text. Däremot har bisatserna i L2-texterna mindre variation.

Upplysningar om socialt ansvar - Vad påverkar vilka upplysningar som lämnas och hur dessa kommuniceras?

Corporate Social Responsibility has been defined as the responsibility towards stakeholders and the society in whole and the expression was founded in the 1950´s. Reporting in corporate social responsibility has been termed corporate social disclosure and has been divided into three areas: environment, ethics and human resources. The aim of this study is to explain variations in corporate social disclosure and the different media used by corporations to communicate these disclosures. A survey was conducted, which included all Swedish corporations listed on the Stockholm Stock Exchange, and all public-owned corporations. The results show that corporate characteristics such as size, industry and profitability can explain some of the variation in social disclosures and also have an effect on the extent and variation of the media used.

Resursskolan : Före detta elevers upplevelser av hemskola, särskiljande och resursskola

The purpose of this study was to investigate how former pupils in a daycareschool experienced there stay, in relation to the ordinary school. The method we used was an qualitative interview study with former pupils of a daycareschool. We have analyzed the result with help of Goffmans theory about stigma, Beckers labeling theory, Antonovskys SOC (a Sense Of Coherence) concept and Gjaerums theory of controlling. After analyzing the results we came to the conclution that the pupils where stigmatized and labeled as deviants in the ordinary school whilst in the daycareschool they got an enhanced SOC and a feeling of control. Due to the daycareschool?s work with these pupils they no longer sees as stigmatized and labeled..
