Live exports of animals began during the late 19th century and are nowadays a valuable alternative to the slaughter industry in Australia. About four million sheep and half a million to one million cattle are exported annually from Australia to the Middle East and Southeast Asia. Most of these animals are exported for slaughter, but some cattle are exported with the purpose of breeding. One factor that has been the driving force for the live export industry is that countries through tariffs and other barriers have favored the import of live animals rather than the import of meat.The export means that animals with a great cognitive ability are exposed to a long chain of production from the farm to the market and there are many factors that can affect the welfare of the animals in a negative way. Some of the most serious are high temperatures and a high stocking density, although seasickness, noises and handling can also have a negative impact on the welfare of animals.

Bakgrund och problem: Internationella rapporter om människans påverkan på jordens begränsade resurser har avlöst varandra och en växande allmän medvetenhet om företags påverkan har gett upphov till koncept och begrepp som Corporate Social Responsibility. Hållbarhetsredovisningen är idag till största del frivillig, men dess roll kan diskuteras, exempelvis vilken information det är som presenteras av företag och hur omfattande den är. Tidigare forskning visar på delvis motstridiga slutsatser om relevansen hos företags hållbarhetsredovisningar gentemot deras faktiska hållbarhet.Syfte: Att undersöka hur hållbarheten i företags verksamhet presenteras i deras respektive årsredovisningar, med specifik inriktning på miljöperspektivet, och hur denna presentation har förändrats över tiden.Avgränsningar: Uppsatsen har granskat fem svenska företag per bransch i tre branscher, hämtade från Stockholmsbörsens Large cap-lista. Granskningsperioden är begränsad till år 2009-2013. Endast hållbarhetsredovisningens miljöaspekter har beaktats under granskningen.Metod: I studien har en longitudinell innehållsanalys använts för att undersökta miljöinformation i de valda företagens redovisningar.

Every year, thousands tons of edible food are discarded by the grocery stores. This is food that could have gone to people that?s in need of it. In many countries, so called food banks are established in order to supply welfare organizations with this kind of food. Today there is no equivalent system existing in Sweden.

The main aim of this master thesis was to examine the visual ergonomics and the systematic work environment management concerning lighting issues for nurses within domiciliary care. Further aims were to examine a few existing lighting solutions, to come up with ideas for future possible lighting solutions, and to evaluate if the legal regulations for lighting is satisfying and if the regulations are obeyed in domiciliary nursing.The methods used were a questionnaire completed by 55 nurses, field studies of used lightings in cooperation with a student in industrial esign, test of ten existing lighting solutions in a laboratory environment, and a field test of five existing lighting solutions tested by nine nurses in the home of the patient.The result indicates that 40 % of the asked nurses were dissatisfied with the working light in the patient?s homes. All respondents reported poor working light close to the patient, 50 % reported that this problem occurred daily. One third reported that they had to work in uncomfortable working postures due to insufficient working light, and 15 % reported risk of making mistakes due to the same reason.

From policy to practice - a study of textile companies view about challenges with implementing CSR policies examine the textile companies awareness of which challenges there are with the implementation of codes of conduct in a global supply chain, as well as to analyze how the companies deal with the challenges. With increased globalization many companies have chosen to outsource entire or parts of the production in various developing and newly industrialized countries. However, the working conditions in these countries do not always fulfill the labor standards that are defined in various conventions. The society began demanding companies to take social responsibility. The social responsibility goes under the term Corporate social responsibility (CSR).

The strategy when you change the visual part of the brand identity is often referred to as Corporate rebranding and is seen as a good way to show that a company has undergone a change. Despite high risks and high costs, this strategy has become more common and there are companies today who make the choice to change an already well-known graphic profile. This phenomenon is what underlies this essay?s problem statement: Why does a company with an already well-known graphic profile choose to change it and how does the process behind the change occur? In what way have the company?s customers recognized the change and how has the company?s image changed in this context? The purpose of this essay is therefore to explore the process that occurs when a company in the sport and fashion industry changes its visual identity and to explore how the company?s customers have perceived the change.To fulfil the purpose of the essay a case study was carried out on a company?s Corporate rebranding process. The company that was chosen was the Swedish sports retail chain Stadium Sweden AB who decided to change its graphic profile even though their logo was one of the two most recognized in their field.

I denna rapport har data fr?n R?ttsmedicinalverket anv?nts, best?ende av sex single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) associerade med ?gonf?rg och 22 SNPs associerade med h?rf?rg, insamlade fr?n 85 individer.

Syftet med denna uppsats var att kartlägga de projekt för elektronisk publicering, där forskningsbiblioteken är inblandade. Detta genomfördes genom en studie över vad det är som styr utvecklingen av alternativa publiceringssystem. Det var både svenska och utländska projekt som undersöktes, fast tonvikten lades på situationen i Sverige och det nystartade DiVA-projektet. DiVA-projektet är ett projekt som bygger upp ett gemensamt biblioteksarkiv för vetenskapliga dokument, där man inledningsvis e-publicerar avhandlingar. Forskningsbiblioteken antar i dessa projekt en ny roll, den som förläggare av lärosätenas vetenskapliga information.

Nynas produces bitumen at two refineries in Sweden. The bitumen is shipped to seven depots along the swedish coast line, and from the depots special trucks handle the transportation to customers. Recently Nynas has transformed its supply chain and closed down a few depots. At the moment the company is considering a further reduction of the number of depots. In connection to these discussions an analyse of the companys distributionsystem and of possible changes is required.

Knowledge in reproduction in the Swedish lynx (Lynx lynx) is important forseveral reasons. Situated on top of the food chain, lynxes may be at risk of beingexposed to environmental toxins that could have adverse effect on reproduction.The population of lynxes is today managed by restricted hunting which demandsknowledge about both the lynxes numbers and their reproduction. In addition,lynxes may function as indicators of climate change for instance if their season ofheat would be earlier or prolonged due to a warmer climate. Today?s knowledgein reproduction in Swedish lynx is mainly based on information gathered fromradio collared animals.

På modemarknaden råder idag en stor konkurrens och det blir allt svårare att differentiera sitt företag. Ett ökat mediebrus distraherar kontinuerligt det budskap företaget vill sända ut till kundgruppen. Idag tvingas företagen ta ett allt större socialt ansvar främst av kommersiella skäl. Miljöengagemanget blir allt större och framför allt attityden och beteendet hos konsumenterna leder till en annan slags konsumtion eller rent av till en ny trend. Utifrån problematiseringen har vi undersökt, beskrivit samt analyserat marknadsförings-strategin av en kedjeägd- respektive en privatägd butik.

Syfte: Syftet med vår uppsats är att identifiera intressanta fenomen kring ekologiska produkters förpackningsdesign. Fenomen som kan ligga till grund för vidare forskning.Metod: Vi har använt oss av en kvalitativ metod bestående av semi- strukturerade djupintervjuer med konsumenter samt en serie butiksstudier för att samla in primärdata till detta arbete. Teoretiska perspektiv: Vi har i teorikapitlet beskrivit teorier dels från området för förpackningsdesign, och dels konsumentbeteendevetenskapen i form av teorier om motivation, self, involvement och means-end chain.Empirisk analys: Utifrån valda teorier har vi tolkat resultaten från de 15 kvalitativa djupintervjuerna. Resultaten har tolkats utifrån olika huvudteman vi funnit intressanta från intervjuerna vilka inkluderar den allmänna inställningen och kunskapen om ekologiska produkter samt förpackningens roll och påverkan.Slutsatser: Vi har genom denna studie kommit fram till att ekologiska produkters förpackningsdesign har en viktig informativ uppgift, inte främst för att sticka ut och vara lätta att hitta, utan för att kommunicera just det faktum att de är ekologiska. Vi har funnit framför allt två starka attribut som förknippas med ekologiska produkter; Medvetenhet och ekonomisk stabillitet.

En anledning är att projektorganiseringen utgör ett sätt att samla ett antal specialister för att få dem att samverka mot ett gemensamt mål. Utöver de interna relationer som uppstår i projekt förekommer det även involvering av interorganisatoriska partners i samarbetet vilket är speciellt vanligt i byggprojekt som karaktäriseras av en hög grad av interorganisatorisk specialisering. Problemformuleringar: Den utpräglade specialiseringen inom byggprojekt fordrar som all annan typ av specialisering, samordning och koordinering av resurser med den skillnaden att det här handlar om samordning över de organisatoriska gränserna. Det som denna studie behandlar är därför de relationer byggföretag har till sina underentreprenörer i samband medbyggprojekt.
