The aim of this thesis is to create an understanding of the incentives for forest companies to invest in reducing carbon dioxide emissions from deforestation and forest degradation, which is termed REDD. The Brazilian Amazonas was chosen as the base for the investment case. Brazil has the largest area of rainforest in the world, and also the biggest problem with deforestation. The Amazon region of Brazil comprises rainforest which is largely intact and unexploited. Accordingly, there is significant potential scope for prospective investments in a REDD-project, and so have a noteworthy impact in preventing deforestation.The research approach used the United Nation?s Clean Development Mechanism concept was used as a framework for ascertaining the investment costs in potential REDD-projects.

In this report the two authors, and project contributors alike, describe their work withdeveloping a solar cooker intended for usage in the developing countries of the world.Specifically, the work aims at developing a new, solar heat driven cooking device, possiblybased upon the current product. This should, in comparison to the current product, be lighter,easier to transport and to produce. Also, the new product?s production mustn?t be more costlythan today and the included materials and components must be obtainable from within theBolivian national borders where the product is currently produced. During the project, certainadvantages with a more efficient, and, above all, a more moderately priced product, werediscovered.

Sweden's aging population makes the need for a viable health care urgent and telemedicine can be a solution to enable older people to receive or give themselves care in their homes. Furthermore, implementation of telemedicine has the potential to realise profits in society by increasing the accessibility of health care and minimizing travel costs. Sweden?s low population density and geographical configuration makes the advantages of telemedicine even more appealing. To illustrate the differences between the county councils? use of telemedicine and thus increasing the possibility for coordinated care between them, the authors have on behalf of the Innovation Centre at the Karolinska University hospital mapped the amount of telemedicine technologies that are available in the Swedish county councils? today. To collect information an electronic survey and video or telephone interviews were used.

De flesta chefer ställs inför frågan hur de bäst motiverar sina medarbetare att prestera väl, men utmaningarna och möjligheterna i motivationsarbetet varierar mellan privata och offentliga organisationer. Syftet med denna uppsats är att undersöka och analysera hur mellanchefer i Uppsala kommuns kommunledningskontor och Vasakronan AB:s region Uppsala använder motivationsverktyg samt vad eventuella skillnader mellan organisationerna beror på. Med utgångspunkt i fem väletablerade motivationsteorier ? Herzbergs tvåfaktorteori, Maslows behovshierarki, rättviseteorin, förväntansteorin och målsättningsteorin ? skapades en modell över sambandet mellan hur chefer kan motivera sina medarbetare, vad som skiljer olika motivationsverktyg åt och vilka särdrag olika organisationer har. Därefter genomfördes djupintervjuer med tre mellanchefer i respektive organisation för att undersöka hur de resonerade kring användandet av olika motivationsverktyg och de empiriska resultaten analyserades i ljuset av författarnas teoretiska modell.

Detta medför att varje enhet med en förbindelse till Internet kommer att behöva en unik IP-adress för att identifiera sig själv samt resten av Internet. Dagens Internet i form av IP version 4 (IPv4) kan inte hantera detta på grund av bristen på IPv4-adresser. Vidare saknar det nuvarande IPv4 trots det massiva antalet användare någon form av inbyggd säkerhet samtidigt som efterfrågan av nya tjänster samt teknologi från användare av Internet drastiskt ökar. Uppföljaren till IPv4, vars tekniska specifikation redan är färdigställd och standardiserad kallas IP Version 6 (IPv6).

This report describes the master thesis project ?Weight Optimization of a Composite Chassis for a Multimodal Lightweight Vehicle? which is a part of the Master program in Naval Architecture and a part of a research project at the Centre for Naval Architecture, KTH. Demands on smart and energy efficient transport solutions are continuously increasing. In the Stockholm region the citizens are expected to increase with 25% and the road vehicles with 80% until 2030, putting high demands on the traffic system. Using a small multimodal vehicle deals with this problem and uses both the land and waterways for transportation.

Dialektal medvetenhet är en förmåga som grundas i en metaspråklig förmåga, det vill säga att kunna resonera kring språk och hantera språkliga enheter. Exempel på detta är att med hjälp av prosodi kunna utläsa information i tal såsom känslor och dialekter.Det finns relativt lite forskning angående barns dialektala medvetenhet. Däremot finns mer forskning inom metaspråklig utveckling. En god metaspråklig förmåga hör samman med god generell språkutveckling och en metaspråklig kompetens innebär ett senare stadium av språkutveckling.Resultat från tidigare studier har visat att metaspråklig förmåga börjar utvecklas vid en ålder av cirka fem år vad gäller bland annat intonation och dialektrelaterat tal. I föreliggande studie konstruerades ett testbatteri för att kartlägga dialektal medvetenhet i åldrarna fem till tolv år.

Problemformulering: Vi vill först och främst på grund av vikten av effektiv styrning inom offentlig förvaltning undersöka hur olika sjukvårdsenheter inom Region Skåne rent praktiskt arbetar med balanced scorecard (BSC) i olika kontexter. Vi ställer oss följande frågor: -Vilka motiv låg till grund för införandet av verktyget BSC?-Hur såg framtagningsprocess och implementering av BSC ut?-Hur ser tillämpningen av BSC ut? -Vad är de viktigaste skälen till användandet av BSC? Syfte: Uppsatsens syfte är att undersöka motiven bakom införandet av balanced scorecard inom sjukvården, beskriva och analysera framtagningsprocesser samt tillämpning av och skäl till användning av verktyget. Metod: Vi har valt att göra en kvalitativ undersökning på tre separata sjukvårdsenheter i Skåne. Denna undersökningsansats grundar sig främst på vårt behov av att nå en djupare insikt om bredden och helheten i arbetet med BSC.

The problem with passive farmers has arised as an effect of the European Union´s common agricultural policy (CAP) and the decouplement from production-based payments. Payments to passive farmers contradict the purpose of the single payment scheme and constitute a great cost for the EU. The new contractual period after 2013 has given rise to discussions on the direction of the CAP with a purpose of increasing the efficiency of the single payment scheme, and reducing passive farming. The aim of the study is to increase the knowledge about a few factors? influence on passive farmers? attitudes towards land use and the CAP.

There have been several projects with solar installations in Sweden, and Sala-Heby Energi (SHE) wanted to create a solar plant. The question answered in this thesis is whether it is economically viable to create such a source of sustainable, renewable energy. The plant would be built with the help of the financial effort from 120 customers. This economic union would sell the electricity to the SHE, for SEK 4.50 per kWh up to a certain level over a period of 10 years. It would be a long term commitment to environmentally friendly electricity, using solar cells which convert sunlight directly into electricity.In year 2009 there was introduced a new state aid for photovoltaic systems, to create an increased and continuing interest in solar cells.

Varför denna doktrin utformades kan ha sitt svar i Rysslands ökade maritima intresse i och kring ryskt havsterritorium, men det kan även vara ett sätt att visa sina officiella ställningstaganden, intressen och intentioner öppet för världssamfundet. 2010 publicerades ett nytt säkerhetsstrategiskt dokument och samma år offentliggjordes även den nya militäradoktrinen.
