Detta kandidatarbete ämnar till att ta reda på om eller hur det går att applicera teorier om användbarhet på en webbplats. För att ta reda på detta togs ett koncept på en dynamisk webbplats fram, i form av wireframes, under tre iterationer med hjälp av en iterativ designprocess. Varje iteration avslutades med en heuristisk utvärdering baserad på ett antal riktlinjer som framställts genom en genomgång av litteratur om användbarhetsprinciper. I undersökningen framkommer det att med ett bra urval av riktlinjer samt en förståelse för de användbarhetsproblem som riktlinjerna visar på, kan teorier om användbarhet appliceras på en webbplats för att göra den användbar..

The purpose of this thesis work is to create a prototype for an augmented reality application that isaimed to support service technician when performing service and maintenance of machines andengines. The prototype will be used for investigating what technical limitations there is and toestablish basic usability for the user interface. The method that is used is user studies and analysis toevaluate use cases and user stories. An iterative work process is then applied for design and theprototype is continuously user tested.The resulting prototype uses a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 running on Android operating system. Theframework used for augmented reality is NyARToolkit which handles marker recognition andconnections to Android.

This report describes the work with creating a CMS (Content Manager System). A CMS is a web tool so you easy can publish materials on your web page. With a CM Scan you can without any knowledge of programming web pages create and maintain a web page. This will result in that you and your organisation save time and money. You can also split the responsibility for the webpage in different roles, but still keep the control.

In this paper, a small business network with around 30 users is analyzed with respect to security, performance and usability. Based on this analysis, two suggestions on how to solve the problems listed are given. The first suggestion focus on keeping a low budget, while the other tries to deal with the problems more thoroughly. One advantage of the first suggestion is, in addition to not straining the company's budget more than nessecary, it does not involve too great changes in the way the network is used and administered. On the other hand, the smaller budget leads to certain compromises, and there is a risk that similar problems occur again if, for example, the company would grow.

The IT industry is constantly evolving and requires everyone working with website development to be updated on the latest methods. The web grows larger every day, and more visits are carried out by mobile devices. It is more important than ever for companies to have updated and functional pages that can be used on different platforms. We want to find out how common it is for IT departments and web agencies to embrace the newest technology and also what it takes to get them to move from one technology to another. Responsive web design is a constantly growing new technique that helps web developers developing for different platforms.

The purpose of this thesis was to examine if there where fallacies in the design solutions for the business system IFS Applications from a user perspective, and if so, correct these from a cognitive science approach.Data collection consisted of three main portions. These where; workshop, individual interviews and observations. The collected data was analyzed and resulted in identification of two main areas in the application that where found lacking.The result of the study showed that the usability for processing large amounts of data and the lack of customization where the main flaws in the application. Two low fidelity prototypes where created with the purpose of rectifying the underlying flawed design solutions that where identified from the collected data..

Examensarbetet diskuterar behovet av ett stödsystem för lärare vid undervisning och tar upp olika aspekter utifrån lärarnas arbetssituation. Som en del av denna diskussion finns en implementation av ett system i form av en Androidapplikation.Applikationen ger lärarna möjlighet till ett stödsystem med olika användningsområde som närvarokontroll, anmärkningsmöjligheter om förseningar och stök under lektionstid, verktyg för att anteckna elevarbete och motivera betyg direkt på plats.Stor vikt har lagts på att göra applikationen lättanvänd och användarvänlig och därför har tester med användare varit en stor del under utvecklingen..

Jag har gjort en webbsajt åt företaget Kök.Ett i Älmhult. Kök.Ett är en köksbutik som bland annat ritar och säljer kök. Jag har byggt upp den allra största delen av hemsidan i Flash, och kompletterat med PHP och kopplat till en databas (MySQL). Sidan är komplett med ett eget administrationssystem. Sidan har en dynamisk känsla som inriktar sig på att inspirera besökaren, och föra besökaren/kunden ett steg närmare Kök.Ett och dess anställda. Studien utreder vilka problem som föreligger vid agila- och vattenfallsbaserade utvecklingsmetoder samt presenterar förslag på hur dessa problem kan komma att lösas. För att besvara dessa frågor har djupgående semistrukturerade intervjuer med designers med erfarenheter av metoderna intervjuats. Intervjumaterialet har transkriberats, kodats och analyserats i syfte att kartlägga de problem som finns. I de intervjuer som genomförts med vattenfallsdesigners har det uttryckts problem med att metoden upplevts som långsam, tungdokumenterad och att relationen med utvecklarna ansetts som komplex. De agila designers har uttryckt problem med att mer efterforskning krävts.

Different educational and professional backgrounds play important roles in how school librarians prioritize activities in the school library. Whether the school librarian has a background as a teacher or as a librarian, they influence and apprehend the activities of the school library differently. The aim of this thesis is to find out how the school librarian looks at his/her commission. What shifts in priorities can be recognized depending on whether the librarian has training as a teacher or a librarian. This thesis also analyzes how the two different professional backgrounds justify their priorities in the school library.

Today, Ericsson Microwave Systems (EMW) uses non-graphical user interfaces in some of their Ada95 applications. EMW wishes to develope a more easy-to-use and platform independent graphical user interface (GUI) for their applications. To meet these requirements EMW has chosen to evaluate Java in GUI development with Ada95. To make it possible for the Java GUI to communicate with the Ada95 application, some kind of standardized interface is required. CORBA is a specification of such an interface.

This report presents the preliminary study and work for the development of a site structure for the upcoming reengineering of inter-tool Infopunkt. The report describes how I have conducted a study regarding the current inter-tool information center and its development potential. Thereafter compiling the information to develop a comprehensive design approach to create a sitemap. The sitemap illustrates a new updated page structure for Infopunkt and was the primary goal of the thesis. The sitemap I have developed will form the basis for the agency that will later on develop the new updated version of Infopunkt..

Användbarhet är idag en del av människa-dator interaktion som bl.a. Södertörns högskola satsar på att lära ut. Syftet med denna undersökning är att belysa användbarheten på Södertörns högskolas hemsida. För att definiera användbarhet används den internationella standarden för användbarhet (ISO 9241-11, 1998) samt människa-dator interaktionsforskaren Jacob Nielsens definition av användbarhet. Detta har genomförts genom en observationsstudie med fem användare.

Our aim in this work has been to redesign ModernFamilies and make a user-friendly interface for people with aphasia. The focus has been to identify general issues they might face while using different technology and applications, in order to find better alternative design for ModernFamilies, with a focus on usability. To approach this issue, we used a qualitative method. Our study includes several interviews and observations preformed in conjunction with the AGNES project (AGeing in a NEtworked Society) and speech therapists. Aphasia requires simple design that in the same time gives them support to understand and use technology and different applications.
