The purpose of this essay is to examine how gender equality can be used in the workplace, its possible effects, and what collaboration can contribute to the subject of gender equality. A combination of legal sociological and legal dogmatic methodology has been used to examine the EU and Swedish law, how equality should be approached and what previous studies have concluded. An interview has been conducted to provide a clearer picture of how gender equality appears in practice, in the modern workplace. An equality plan should be conducted every three years and applies to employers who are responsible for more than 25 employees. The manual should include a description of the measures considered necessary in the workplace in order to promote gender equality. How an equality plan should be developed is not specifically outlined in the current law, and thus this is left up to the employer to determine.

The reason behind this essay has been to study if previous research is relevant for Jehovah?s Witnesses in Sweden and see if secularization has affected the organization or not. The empirical material is made from two qualitative group- interviews and open observations during two meetings in the Kingdom Hall. These studies were performed in Oskarshamn and Mönsterås during the month of February. Världen idag förväntas möta stora förändringar i klimatet. Följdeffekterna är många och leder exempelvis till havsnivåhöjningar och intensivare regn. Ökade och varierande mängder vatten i urbana miljöer är en följdeffekt av detta vilket i vissa fall leder till översvämningar. Studier som gjorts av framtida klimat antyder att extrem nederbörd blir allt vanligare. Syftet med denna studie har varit att bidra med alternativa idéer om hur ökade mängder vatten orsakade av klimatförändringar kan hanteras i gestaltningen av staden, där vattnet ska ses som en resurs istället för ett problem. Målet har varit att för en stadsmiljö i Helsingborg utforma ett stadsrum som kan ta emot stora mängder vatten och som kan vara attraktivt både när det blir vattenfyllt och när det är torrlagt. Stadsrummet ska även kunna fungera som ett pedagogiskt inslag i staden genom att framhäva klimatförändringarna och samtidigt bidra till en rekreativ stadsmiljö. Arbetet har varit en designprocess som har bestått av en kunskapsinhämtande del och en gestaltande del. Ett antal svenska kommuners syn (Helsingborg, Göteborg, Malmö och Kristianstad) på klimatanpassning har studerats, vilket visade på att de till stor del ser de ökade mängderna vatten som ett problem och vattnet anses vara ett hot mot staden och dess invånare.

Denna studies syfte är att undersöka hur elever och deras bildlärare idag uppfattar bildämnet i en svensk skola samt lust som motivation. Ett socialt konstruktivistiskt samt progressivistiskt perspektiv på lärande och Peter Gärdenfors forskning om lust som motivation är denna studies teoretiska utgångspunkter. Den empiriska studien har pågått under fyra veckor på ett svenskt högstadium. Kvantitativa enkäter och kvalitativa semistrukturerade intervjuer har genomförts med sex elever och två lärare. Resultatet från den empiriska undersökningen har analyserats och tolkats kvantitativt och kvalitativt.

This master thesis summarizes contemporary theories on secularization processes in the Western world, and compares these with the example of Sweden, which by many scholars is considered to be the most secularized country in the Western world.I do this by dividing the most influential theorists in five different groups. In each group I explain how the theorists formulate and motivate their positions. These groups are:1) The secularization paradigm, where secularization always accompanies modernization. (Therorists: Steve Bruce and Peter Berger (in the 1960s)2) The paradigm basically accepted, but revised to depend on existential security, rather than modernisation as such. (Pippa Norris and Ronald Inglehart)3) Religion returned in the public sphere.

IT is a natural part of the work today when it comes to projects. There are many aspects that are wholly or partly dependent on IT support actions to proceed efficiently. Although there is still situations where IT is deselected as a tool. The factors that make it look like this is not always included in the calculation, which resulted in the failure that could have been remedied with the right tools to solve the problems. The project form which today is increasingly common with all major groups involved enables IT tools' impact also becomes an increasingly provided they are used properly.

The aim of my study is to investigate if and in that case how the writing process and texts written by students in the upper secondary school are affected by the writing tool; does it matter if they write their texts on a computer or by longhand? Another objective is to compare such an effect with the findings of previous studies performed on earlier generations of writers. The first part of my study was a survey. It showed that two thirds of the 67 students participating thought that they would have written better texts in the national writing test if they had been able to use computers. In the second part of the study each of the fourteen participants wrote one text on computer and another by hand.

The aim of the present study was to evaluate if pulsed inhaled nitric oxide (PiNO) could be used as a treatment for hypoxemia during general anaesthesia in colic horses. Previous studies have shown a positive response in horses receiving PiNO in comparison to controls, but these studies have only included healthy individuals. A total of 30 horses were included in this present study, they all underwent abdominal surgery because of acute colic that could not be medically treated. Fifteen of the horses received PiNO and 15 horses served as a control group. Arterial oxygenation was improved in all horses receiving PiNO.

För att utreda ärenden kopplade till bräddning och källaröversvämningar blir det allt vanligare att använda hydraulisk modellering. I hydrauliska modeller ingår flera olika beståndsdelar,bland annat ledningar, brunnar, bräddavlopp och pumpstationer. Pumpstationer är en beståndsdel som är ganska komplex att beskriva i dessa modeller och att ta fram den relativt stora mängd indata som krävs för att beskriva modellparametrarna kan vara mycket tidskrävande. Genom att veta vilka modellparametrar i pumpstationer som har störst betydelse för modellberäkningarna skulle mer vikt kunna läggas vid att beskriva dessa och därmed skulle modelleringen kunna bli mer tidseffektiv och beräkningsresultatet bli bättre kvalitetsmässigt. En modellparameter som tros vara av stor betydelse för modellberäkningarna är pumpkapacitet.

The purpose of this thesis is to examine how genealogists create identity through their own research, and how they live with their ancestors in the everyday life. The questions at issue are: How do genealogists deal with concepts like ?native home district?, ?heritage? and ?family?. Does it exist a problem in creating identity and how genealogists regard other people with a different background, for instance immigrants. This thesis consists of three parts: in the first I present my aim, questions at issue, my method with qualitative interviews, and my theoretical frame from sociology and anthropology.

The tomato is an important crop worldwide, and in recent years it has received great attention due to its rich content of carotenoids, which in studies indicate to have health benefiting properties. Many studies have been done in this area of research and in how to optimize the carotenoid content in tomatoes and tomato products. The objectives of this essay were to summarize present data in this field. The results were as follows:There are nine different carotenoids identified in tomatoes. Lycopene and ?-carotene are the ones that have been given the greatest attention.

This is a study about a company in Norrköping, called Stadium AB, and its first steps into the global market. We have studied how the conditions of the company have changed during their expansion. This study is not written from the viewpoint of business economics, it is rather a study from a cultural and social studies perspective. The study deals with subjects such as the globalization of society, organizational theories and leadership. The main purpose of this C-essay is to answer the question: What have been the consequences and effects of the merit point system on language studies and the parties concerned (teachers, students and principals) during the school year of 2010/11?The merit point system is the result of a political decision and was implicated for the first time in the Swedish upper secondary school during the school year 2010/2011. Being a completely new phenomenon it is of great interest and importance to study its effects.The study in this essay also aims to verify, falsify or nullify two hypotheses very often referred to in the political discussions regarding the merit point system:The merit point system will replace affection and interest as main reasons for language studies in upper secondary school and cause a rectification amongst the students choices of additional courses.The merit point system will have a segregating effect upon society and make it harder for people to rise in society through education in the future.A verification of these hypotheses would imply the appearance of an increased rectification amongst students as well as an orientation towards an in the future more segregated society.The empiric material has been collected and examined with qualitative as well as quantitative methods (questionnaires and interviews) and belongs epistemologically to the phenomenological and hermeneutical traditions..
