The purpouse of this study is to find out how and if a Content Managment System (CMS) can benefit from applied User Experience Design (UX). A work project has been executed where a client wanted the students to create a user friendly CMS for adding content to a global hotel review site. A prototype of a CMS was created based on literature studies about UX and CMS. The prototype of the user friendly CMS was then tested through user tests and interviews with key users. The widespread usage of computers in the working life has led to more sedentary work and less daily movement.The purpose of the thesis is to develop a new product to a concept that in a low intensive and healthy promotional way will activate the body. The product will make a combination of healthy promotion activity and work during office hours possible and primary aims to those with a sedentary office work, which leads to that the body don´t get to be activated in the extent needed.Information has been gathered from studies already made in this area, interviews plus a study and an experiment. From the gathered information concepts and functional solutions has been generated and evaluated to result in a product concept.The thesis has resulted in a concept that consists of a work place unit where the user walks on a treadmill and works at the same time.A general conclusion which can be drawn is that the majority of persons that tested to walk and simultaneously work with a computor on the treadmill found this way of working attractive. Typically, when Faurecia in Torsås are planning a new assembly line, one of the steps is to build a full-scale model of the line in card board, a form of mock-up planning. Faurecia has shown interest in finding an alternative methodology. The purpose was to explore the possibility of replacing today's cardboard based mock-up planning with models in a digital simulation environment.The purpose of the thesis has been to answer some of these complex questions; What are the benefits of using a simulation tool? In what way can we use it? If we choose to use a simulation tool, in what way does it affect our way of planning an assembly line? What are the advantages and disadvantages? Are there any economical and social aspects?Our results made us realize that a digital simulation tool does not replace the card board. On the other hand simulation could be used as a complement.

Visby is a city that at first glance is of medieval origins. The popular image of scientists today is that the city was formed in the Middle Ages. According to some of the researchers Visby was formed during the Viking Age, it is based on the basis that the area has been used for a long period. Urban development in the Nordic countries is complex and there are different opinions as to why the Nordic cities emerge. It is important to shed light on the underlying process on why cities are emerging to provide clarity as to why Visby city is emerging.

The main subject with this master thesis is to take a closer look on how some of the university libraries of Gothenburg have evaluated their electronic services (such as search-systems, Internet-based services, CD-ROM etc.). The information technology has made its way into the library field during the past century and needs to be evaluated and quality measured to ensure the best possible service to the users. Since evaluation of electronic services is a new area in the evaluation field, some problems has arisen in terms of choosing evaluation strategies and finding the appropriate performance indicators for the evaluation process. The main questions asked in the thesis are; - Which are the most common theoretical strategies for evaluation? - How do some of the university libraries of Gothenburg perform evaluation in practice? - How does the various strategies for evaluation apply to the context of this thesis? The results show that specific strategies for evaluation aren't used in the reports discussed in this thesis.

Background: This paper was performed by a student in the Public Health Sciences program at the University of Gothenburg as a mandate from the district administration (SDF) Askim-Frölunda-Högsbo in Gothenburg. The assignment was formed on the basis of a need for a new service with a family-centered approach in the form of a family center for families with children aged 6-12 years. The family center will be located in the Frölunda area.Aim: The purpose of this paper was to describe and deepen the understanding of the concept of a family center from a public health perspective. A particular focus was put on interventions that are aimed at children aged 6-12 years.Method: Walker and Avants (2011) model for concept analysisResults: The defined attributes that the analysis led to were the following: Collaboration, Health Promotion, Prevention and Support services and the Visitors. The created model case and the borderline cases showed a clearer picture of the concepts meaning.

A common goal in practical forest management is to maximize the yield, measured in economical terms. When a forest stand is thinned a so called inoptimality loss can arise due to non-optimal decisions. This means that the selected management schedule results in a lower net present value than the optimal one which lowers the profitability for the forest owner. Holmen Skog uses the term tract which means an aggregation of stands made before a management action. A tract should be delineated in different tract parts in connection with pre-thinning planning if there is different bearing capacity within the tract, different thinning grades should be used or if the tract contains a weaker part that should not be thinned.

This major project in Building Engineering has its focus on inquiring into what methods has been used in the planning process of the residential buildingLjusbojen 1. This project has been conducted in cooperation with Kadesjös Ingenjörsbyrå AB, an engineering contractor firm which also acts as the property developer. Initially several different general methods for planning residential buildings have been presented. After the methods from the process of building Ljusbojen 1 has been analyzed compared to the general methods presented in part 1. This shows what the determining factors are during the planning process; factors such as cost, quality, time management, know-how and environmental issues.

By writing about good examples of how trees can add good qualities to a street I wish to inspire to more use of trees in future city-planning. In the increasing urban environments and the modern societies demands for sustainability there is a challange in planning cities with a balance between density and a satisfying access of recreational environments. For attractive cities these environments need to be designed to fit every inhabitants? demands and opinions in some way. Increased knowledge and understanding is therefore needed about how different design styles in landscape architecture affect people and the cities. In this bachelor thesis benefits and disadvantages as well as the experience and impact of two fundamental design styles i discussed; naturalistic and formal/abstract design.

Arbetet är en teoristyrd fallstudie på Amiralen och Slottsbackens handelsområden, med syfte att undersöka möjligheten att skapa en trevligare visuell externhandelsmiljö med hjälp av förtätning och funktionsintegrering. För att göra detta jämför och förenas handelsperspektiv på platsen med kända stadsbyggnadsbegrepp. Arbetes teori grundar sig på Jane Jacobs syn på staden som centrum för mångfald, Joel Garreaus teoretiserande av externhandelscentrumen utifrån begreppet Edge Cities, samt en syn på den täta staden som en hållbar stad. För att skapa den mångfaldiga staden krävs en inplantering av olika funktioner med olika tidsscheman, så att gaturummet ständigt befolkas av en varierande sammansättning människor. Vid sidan av detta förespråkas små kvarter, en tät stad med hög koncentration av människor och en bebyggelse med blandad bebyggelse från olika tidsåldrar.

I have worked with Bergum in different courses on the IntegratedConservation of Built Environments program and I thought it was a veryinteresting subject. This is the main reason why I chosen to write mybachelor paper about Bergum.In 1650s Bergum was situated on the border between Sweden and Norway,because of that it occurred some war conflicts.Today Bergum is a socioeconomic border and is situated in an areabetween the city?s concrete suburb and the countryside.The difference between the city?s concrete suburb and the countryside mayfeel like two different worlds, were the social contact is fractional.With this paper, I will indicate a countryside area on the boundary to the citythrough time and try to survey the building history. I mitt examensarbete har jag arbetat fram en glaskollektion med tema mens. Målet med mitt arbete var dels att höja mensen ur tabut, dels att ge bruksglaset en ny scen. Genom att göra en menskoppsbehållare i transparent glas vill jag ifrågasätta varför vi gömmer och smusslar med våra mensskydd men också varför mensen idag framställs som oren, äcklig och skamlig. Jag vill uppmuntra till att bryta det mönstret, ge den som menstruerar en möjlighet att hylla mensen, sätta den i fokus, på piedestal. Mitt arbete resulterade i ett mensaltare, en tolkning av hur jag tror mensen hade framställts om vi levt i ett matriarkat.
