Mellanchefer sitter idag på en position där de är tvungna att förhålla sig till ett stort antal faktorer som påverkar dem i deras arbete. Deras situation passar därför alldeles utmärkt för att undersöka aspekter som har med begreppet handlingsutrymme att göra. Vi har med hjälp av Tetra Pak Dairy & Beverage Systems AB tagit reda på vilka faktorer som påverkar deras mellanchefers handlingsutrymme. Detta gjordes genom att inledningsvis identifiera ett antal övergripande ämnesområden som ansågs påverka handlingsutrymmet i hög grad. Ämnesområdena fick sedan ligga till grund för de kvalitativa intervjuer vi använde oss av för att få in vårt empiriska material.

Gymnasieskolan står inför förändring och vad jag kommer fördjupa mig i denna uppsats är gymnasieskolans utbildningspolitik och dess påverkan på utbildningens utveckling. Därför finner jag det intressant att titta närmare på hur statens utbildningspolitiska styrning tar sig i uttryck i propositionen och hur den språkliga framställningen påverkar de professionellas handlingsmönster.Min frågeställning i uppsatsen lyder: hur påverkar den utbildningspolitiska diskursen gymnasieskolans utveckling? För att besvara frågeställningen kommer den utbildningspolitiska diskursen friläggas genom en Foucaultinspirerad läsning, diskursanalys av propositionen 2003/04:140 Kunskap och kvalitet ? elva steg för utvecklingen av gymnasieskolan.Styrningens makt- och påverkansprocesser som utbildningspolitiken utgör på de professionella både som enskilda individer och som kollektiv grupp till kropp och själ utövar inflytande på och styr individens sätt att tänka, tala och handla och faktiskt begränsar vad som är möjligt att tänka, tala och handla inom en viss praktik. Vad som gömmer sig bakom välpolerade begrepp såsom kunskap och kvalitet i propositionen handlar om traditionella tankemönster och en ansats till att styra mer. Vi har i denna uppsats valt att titta närmare på mellanchefens arbetssituation, och vad det är som påverkar denna. Mellanchefers arbete är som vi ser det väldigt hårt pressat. De ska dels föra ledningens mål och visioner vidare till medarbetarna. Dessutom ska de även kunna leda det dagliga arbetet på sektionen. Detta innebär en hög arbetsbelastning på grund av många direktrapporterande medarbetare.

The study was conducted with an landscape approach with an subject related approach in the field of environmental psychology to investigate how road design affects drivers' choice of speed. The purpose was to portray road environments on thoroughfares in urban areas to motivate motorists to keep the speed limit and thus increase road safety for vulnerable road users. The task question was formulated, how can thoroughfares in suburban settings be portrayed to motivate motorists to reduce speed? The study was conducted throughout a literature review of motivational speed measures along with interviews with road design experts at the Swedish Transport Administration. Case studies were conducted on three thoroughfares in the Stockholm suburbs Vallentuna, Upplands Väsby and Danderyd.

The information society creates new demands on the knowledge making individual; besides being literate one has to be information literate. And in the educational society there is an ongoing change from teaching to learning, the focal point being the active student and life long learning. The aim of this dissertation is to within a context of learning and teaching elucidate the relation between user education and subject education by examining what significance the academic libraries user education has for the development of information literacy within students. Some epistemological theories connected with learning is presented as well as aspects of the information search process and of information literacy. Universities and their libraries view of information literacy and the goal of their user education is being focused on in an empirical study.

Empowerment har blivit ett modebegrepp och används i en mängd olika sammanhang och har därigenom också fått olika innebörder. Syftet med uppsatsen var att undersöka hur betydelsen av begreppet empowerment har förändrats och belysa vad de olika betydelserna kan bero på.Ifrågavarande litteraturstudie fäster sin uppmärksamhet på två kontexter, inom vilka empowerment tillskrivs skilda innebörder, den freirianska kontexten och folkhälsokontexten.Genom uppsatsen har fyra fundamentala skillnader detekterats mellan de två kontexterna; målet (frihet kontra ökad hälsa), empowerments roll (mål gentemot metod), metoden (folkrörelse från gräsrotsnivå i förhållande till myndighetsutövning) och inriktningen (kollektivistisk visavi individualistisk). Jag har gjort en undersökning om hur intresset för skolkörer ser ut på högstadieskolorna i Malmö. Jag valde att göra både en kvantitativ och en kvalitativ undersökning. Den kvantitativa undersökningen bestod utav enkäter och den kvalitativa undersökningen bestod utav intervjuer av två personer. Tyvärr är det mer än hälften av alla högstadieskolor i Malmö som inte har en skolkör även om intresset verkar finnas hos elever, musiklärare samt hos skolledningen. This report will examine various solar energy technologies in order to decide if they could be applied in the Royal Seaport. The Royal Seaport is a Swedish urban district under development in Stockholm, with the goal of becoming a sustainable district. Two main techniques, solar collectors and solar cells, including sub-categories, are addressed in this report. Another sub-category, a hybrid system, will also be mentioned. The main difference between solar collectors and solar cells is the type of energy produced by the system.

The objective of this Bachelor thesis is to analyze moving patterns in Norrköping?s municipality. The main aim is to analyze the migration to, from, and within the municipality of Norrköping, not only for the population as a whole but also for groups of special interest. Another aim is to compare migration patterns in Norrköping with those of other municipalities in Sweden.Several data sets have been used, each of them extracted from population statistics carried out by Statistics Sweden (SCB).Data mining using association analysis is used for finding the migration pattern within Norrköping?s municipality and several questions are examined using descriptive statistics.

This study aims at examining the prospects for a policy transfer of a Swedish municipal environmental policy (that of Växjö) to the French urban commune Blois, for which an ambition of becoming a leading eco-city in France, was declared by the mayor in 2008.In the analysis, emphasis is laid on mechanisms to institutionalize the main environmental policy principles, such as political and institutional structures and processes. Other prospects for an institutionalization of a new environmental policy that are to be investigated are economic structures as well as visions of the different decision-makers concerned. Research methods used in the study are qualitative interviews, document studies and a questionnaire.The findings of the analysis show that today?s prospects for an environmental policy in Blois close to that of Växjö, are clearly limited. The limitations can partly be found in economic structures but these seem to be rather related to a lack of priority amongst actors.

The dissertation examines basic aspects of playing techniques of the eight-keyed traverso, as it is used in Irish and Breton traditional music. The background material consists of four interviews with four professional flute players as well as literature that considers the subject from different perspectives. The results reveals a consensus between those of the informants that are mainly playing Irish music while the informant that is mainly playing Breton music has a different approach to several of the technical aspects examined.Examensarbetet behandlar grundläggande spelteknik på åttaklaffig traversflöjt inom bretonsk och irländsk folkmusik. Denna uppsats syftar till att undersöka diskursen om urbanitet i tidskrift Arkitektur mellan åren 1989-1994. Relevant för undersökningen är planeringsmodellen kvarterstad och begreppsparen privat-offentligt, vilka belyser olika sätt som diskursen om urbanitet gestaltade sig på i stadsbyggnadsdiskussionen. Analysen visar hur historiska idealbilder och problembilder var central för konstruktionen av urbanitet. Förorten och modernismen fick funktionen av motbilder till samtidens ideal, inramade av en kontext om den ?upplösta staden?.

Our lives in urban areas are becoming more and more inactive with negative effects on our mental and physical health. Natural environments and physical activity have the power to both prevent and reduce mental fatigue. Meanwhile we engage ourselves with physical activity, the nature fascinates us with its complexity. In April 2006, some of the visitors to the recreational area of Skrylle were asked to fill in a questionnaire which included questions about their habits within physical activity and the experience of nature. The questionnaires were then divided into two groups: those filled out by persons who exercise on regular basis (i.e. three or several times/week) and those who rarely exercise.
