The purpose of this master?s thesis is to study resource allocation among district libraries within Stockholm?s City Library (SSB) on three different occasions ? 1996, 2001 and 2005 ? and to examine whether there exist any inconsistency between the state of the allocation of resources and what might be considered reasonable. During the course of the study, it became apparent that some measurements are more relevant than others when determining whether the allocation of resources is reasonably fair. The most relevant ratio is the share of net cost per capita in relation to population and the population?s composition of children, youngsters and persons with foreign background as a result of relevant political governing documents giving priority to these three groups.

This report is the result of a project in the course Independent Projekt in Molecular Biotechnology at Uppsala University during the spring of 2014. The foremost purpose of the course is to give students the opportunity to carry through exstensive work in a project environment. This project was formed based on a comission from the biotechnology company SweTree Technologies, and the goal has been to compose a summary of the different techniques and methods that exist in the field of mass propagation of trees through the method of somatic embryogenesis.The project group has obtained information about the area mainly throgh reading patents, trying to find key components and bottlenecks in other companies? somatic embryogenesis technologies. This paper is divided into different sections, containing the patents of the automation of different steps in the process.

Mixade vårdsalar, det vill säga där man blandar män och kvinnor, är något som förkommer på sjukhusen runt om i landet och bör uppmärksammas utifrån patientens perspektiv då denne är i beroendeställning av sjukvården och dess vårdmiljö. Det blir allt vanligare att sjukhusen idag har mixade vårdsalar, detta oftast på grund av tids- och platsbrist. Studiens syfte var att beskriva patienters upplevelser av att vårdas på mixad vårdsal på en akut sjukvårdsavdelning inom nedre kirurgi. Studien var kvalitativ med fenomenologisk ansats. En intervjustudie med femton patienter som hade vårdats på mixad vårdsal genomfördes och i resultatet framkom att majoriteten av patienterna upplevde det positivt att vårdas på mixad vårdsal.

Bakgrund: Tidig hemgång innebär att mor och barn åker hem 6-12 timmar efter förlossningen. En barnmorska gör hembesök hos familjen under första dagarna för att undersöka hur mor och barn mår. Syfte: Studiens syfte var att undersöka mödrars uppfattningar av vård och stöd kring tidig hemgång efter förlossningen. Syftet var också att undersöka personkaraktäristika samt hur amningen upplevs hos denna grupp. Metod: En enkätstudie gjordes bland kvinnor som fött barn på Akademiska sjukhuset i Uppsala under mars och april 2013 och gått hem efter 6-12 timmar med vård från ?BB på väg?.

Den här uppsatsen syftar till att undersöka de psykosociala påfrestningar som heltidsengagerade på studentnationer i Uppsala upplever i sitt arbete. Genom en kvalitativ datainsamling under sammanlagt åtta intervjuer med "heltidare" har deras arbetsmiljö kartlagts med fokus på arbetsmoment som de själva upplever som stressande eller påfrestande.Analysen har sedan skett med bakgrund av tre stressmodeller: krav-/kontroll, effort-/reward och allostatic load. Med stöd av tidigare forskning av Maslach & Leiter, Asplund och Thulin Skantze. Detta har givit en bred och heltäckande uppfattning av hur de psykosociala påfrestningarna påverkar respondenternas utifrån deras egna upplevelser av sin arbetsmiljö.Av de framkomna och analyserade resultaten har flera slutsatser uppkommit. Framför allt kan man konstatera att heltidare har ett i längden ohållbart tungt arbete sett till arbetstiderna.

This report describes the development and implementation of a system for transmitting digital information at high speeds from a miniaturized submersible developed by the Ångström Space Technology Centre at Uppsala University. For instance, the vehicle shall transmit image data ? even stream live video - through an optical fibre to a monitor in a ground station. Hence, the system shall be used both to convert the image data to make it transmittable, and to recreate it at the receiver.The work includes a pre-study of the programming language and the technology used. A concept for the solution is presented together with main components later broken down into internal functions.

Mängder av antibiotika används vid gruppbehandlingar av djur. I Sverige är dock förbrukningen betydligt mer begränsad än i övriga EU. Terapeutisk behandling mot infektionssjukdomar är det aktuella.

The questions asked were designed to help answering thepurpose of the study.Main results: This study shows that in general there is a positive view of Internet datingamong both groups. They appreciate the opportunities it provides, as they get to knowthe other persons personality first. Even so, it should be noted that they still tend to be abit ashamed to talk about Internet dating, and some don?t want to be associated with it.The communication pattern tend to be pretty much the same among both groups.

In this database more than 12 000 eventreports are stored sorted in three categories, category 1, 2 and 3. The databasecontains events from the start of Oskarshamn 1 in 1972 till present time.All nuclear power plants in Sweden are obliged to report any deficiency in theirbarriers and/or the defense in depth in obedience to SSMFS 2008:1.When a failure is detected or there is reasonable suspicion of a deficiency, the eventreport should be classified as a deficiency of category -1, 2 or 3 [1].The event reports are logged and archived in the register of SSM. I denna studie har insamling av referensdata över språkförståelse hos treåringar med typisk språkutveckling genomförts. Till detta har bedömningsmaterialet Sofialådan (Westerlund & Öfverholm-Engström, 1995) använts. Sofialådan bygger som flera andra språkförståelsematerial på den s.k. act-outmetoden där man låter barnet agera med föremål efter en given instruktion. Med hjälp av föremålen i Sofialådan bedöms barnets förmåga att identifiera grundfärger och storleksbegrepp, kategorisera, flytta föremålenligt olika prepositionsanvisningar samt att följa flerledade instruktioner.

Syftet med föreliggande studie var att studera frukostvanor, övervikt och fysisk aktivitet hos 15-åriga pojkar och flickor. Studien är en kvantitativ komparativ tvärsnittsstudie och är en delstudie ur det tidigare utförda projektet ?Mat & Hälsa 2007? där frågor om mat, hälsa, måltidsvanor, fysisk aktivitet och självvärdering undersöktes. I denna delstudie användes ett demografiskt frågeformulär som mäter ungdomars frukostvanor, fysisk aktivitet samt vikt och längd. Framkomna resultat visar att majoriteten av studiedeltagarna har regelbundna frukostvanor samt intar frukost utan sällskap av familjemedlem eller annan person.

This thesis presents an analysis of a conversation between a therapist and her client. Through a study of the conversation's topics and structure I have been able to draw conclusions on how the therapist governs and steers the session. With the use of certain tools, such as introductions of topics, invitations, paraphrasing and explorative questions, the therapist presents the frames of the conversation. At the same time, though, she invites the client to state her point of view and correct the views imposed on her through, for example, formulations from the therapist. I in my study I have used the methods of Conversational Anlaysis (CA) com-bined with quantitative methods such as calculating the frequency of a phenomenon.Throughout the thesis I have compared my results with the results presented by Ulla Melander Marttala in her dissertation Content and perspective in doctor-patient conversa-tions.

This thesis examines a possible control strategy to minimize flow fluctuations in Uppsala?s district heating system. High variations in flow rate may lead to complications caused by hydraulic constraints in the district heating system. These complications, such as inadequate pressure and temperature levels, increase the risk of heat delivery failures. It is therefore important to avoid such situations both for the producer and for the customers.Typically, the forward temperature is controlled by using a rough correlation with respect to the outdoor temperature.
