In this thesis the pragmatic pedagogy as formulatad by John Dewey is applied to theswedish national campaign Digidel and its work to spread the digital participation among thegeneral public. The purpose of the thesis is to visualize and problematize that differentunderstandings of a problem, lead to different solutions, as lifted in John Dewey´s pedagogy, thatconstitutes the thesis' theoretical framework. The term digital participation is used by the Digidelcampaign, where public libraries take active part to spread digital participation througheducational efforts. By qualitative interviews with four librarians this thesis examines howunderstandings of the term may vary and in turn lead to differenent educational goals, designsand executions. The result shows that basic computer- and Internetskills are seen as either equelto or prerequisites for digital participation and that the digital participant is seen as either apassive recipient or an active participant.

Denna studie syftar till att ge en uppdaterad bild av mångfalden på Sveriges Radio då denna undersökning omfattar en växande del av mediemarknaden som ännu ej blivit undersökt: produktionsbolagen. För att avgränsa studien studerades de produktionsbolag som Sveriges Radio samarbetat med under hösten 2013. För att undersöka hur produktionsbolagens sammansättning såg ut analyserades medarbetarna, genom en kvantitativ undersökning, utifrån kön, ålder samt etnicitet. Därefter analyserades ägarförhållanden utifrån samma parametrar och slutligen produktionsbolagens geografiska position. Resultaten jämfördes sedan med hur dessa siffror såg ut inom Sveriges Radio, hur befolkningen i Sverige såg ut under samma tidsperiod och slutligen mot den undersökning som Djerf-Pierre (2007) gjorde 2005 över Sveriges journalistkår.

Today, there are more than 12 000-14 000 farms worldwide using an automatic milking system (AMS). Studies have shown that transition to AMS affects the udder health of cows adversely, recognized primarily as elevated somatic cell counts. There are several reasons for this, for example the greater variation in milking frequency seen in AMS. On one hand, short milking intervals may lead to bad teat condition of the cows due to the stress the milking procedure exposes the teats to. Too long milking intervals, on the other hand, seem to predispose for milk leakage, which is, in turn, a risk factor for the development of mastitis.

In this study we examined co-workers experiences of having a previous colleague as their leader, which is relatively common. We made qualitative interviews with six social welfare administrators who had been through this situation at work. The questions had been concentrated at how they were affected by the previous relationship, what expectations they had, and their view of how the business had been handled by their leader. The result of these interviews has then been connected to two leadership theories. The conclusion of the study was that the experience of the situation differs.

Ett företag som är i förändrings- och utvecklingsfas kan ha svårt att hanteraarbetet i ett ostrukturerat kvalitetsledningssystem och tillförlitligheten i företaget kan kommaatt svikta om strategier är otillräckliga.Examensarbetets syfte är att kartlägga företagsorganisationens nuvarande struktur ochidentifiera brister gentemot kvalitetsstandarderna ISO 9000:2005 och ISO 9001:2008.Därefter skall en företagsanpassad grund byggas upp som förbättrar företagets effektivitet ochförmåga att öka kundtillfredsställelsen. En involvering av medarbetare skall införlivas så attledningssystemets tillförlitlighet behålls.Genom teoristudier, intervjuer och företagsanalysering har en kartläggning av företagetsfrämsta brister och behov genomförts. Den visade att det fanns flertalet rutiner ocharbetsmoment som var mer än tillräckliga för att tåla en tredjepartsrevision.

AbstractGlobalisation has lead to changes on many levels of our society; -industrial, technological, and corporate to name a few. This is an ongoing process which affects the society we live in today. The process is affecting the working-conditions for everyone through the changes of the relations on the working market. The unions have enjoyed a very special role in Sweden for a long time, but that role is now affected by these changes. The relationship between state and unions is changing, and the unions? influence in politics is decreasing.

Syftet är att undersöka huruvida övergången till IFRS den 1 januari 2005 resulterar i några effekter i balansräkningen för ett börsnoterat svenskt bolag. Dessutom undersöker vi om ett svenskt börsnoterat företag anser att möjligheten att jämföra börsnoterade företags finansiella rapporter ökar i och med övergången till IFRS. Vidare har vi kontrollerat om de uppfattningar ett svenskt börsnoterat företag har om de framtida effekterna som kan uppstå till följd av övergången till IFRS överrensstämmer med uttalanden gjorda i affärstidningar och annan fackpress. Vår intention är slutligen att presentera ett svenskt börsnoterat företags idéer kring eventuellt ändrat framtida beteende till följd av övergången till IFRS. Arbetet innefattar en fallstudie baserad på en kvalitativ metod, eftersom vi ämnade uppnå en djupare förståelse av det vi studerade.

During our formative years, technology has always had a natural part of everyday life, and for us technology has never been particularly gendered. If this depends on the climate and the attitude of our homes, ourselves, the combination of both or something completely different is a question we have asked ourselves at times. But our approach to technology does not seem as obvious to all women, and today the IT industry is heavily dominated by men. This has meant that we have asked the question whether there is any underlying reason why so few women opt for IT courses? Is there a link between how different IT organizations profiles and the prevailing gender ratio? The purpose of this study is to investigate whether there is any connections between how IT organizations are related to gender issues and how the structures, attitudes and gender actually looks like in the IT industry today, and how this can be seen in their branding efforts.

During 2004 to 2008, The United States Marine Corps (USMC) executed counterinsurgency operations in Anbar Province with the purpose to stabilize one of the most violent areas in Iraq. The Marine Corps successfully managed to suppress the insurgency as violence dropped dramatically in late 2007. What did the marines do in order to suppress the insurgency? Why did violence drop in the province? The Marine Corps approach and procedures have been examined earlier through theories of organizational learning and adaptation. However, there is an absence of studies aiming to analyse the Marine Corps? counterinsurgency approach through the analytical lens of counterinsurgency theory.

The aim has been to create a new student housing where there should be more togetherness between people who live in the residents. The house will have more common areas for the integration of students for a pleasant stay in Växjö. We have concentrated on finding and solving the interior design of the joint surfaces. Abstract The Act of Education outlines that good quality in schools and preschools, focusing on continuous improvement, promote children?s learning and this in turn is on of the most important factors for child and youth welfare.This thesis was based on the authors´ pre-understanding that there are opportunities to improvement in the quality of preschools. The focus was on studying how analyses can provide a base for quality work, and the purpose of this study was to identify and describe the analytical methods that can be used in the process of continual improvement for quality development in preschools.A qualitative study was conducted in two preschools that have received quality awards. It was conducted through interviews with the preschool principals and through studies of various documents.In the comparative analysis of theory and empirical data, it was made clear that there was a regular analysing process going on at the investigated preschools and an emphasize of reflection could also be identified. Keywords: Quality development, preschool, analytical methods, processes, reflection .

An analysis was to be made of how love between teenagers as well as the heterosexual relationship in general was depicted in each of the films and further investigate the gender construction in both films.Material/method: With the intention of narrowing down the complexity and make the evaluation more lucid 5 scenes from each film were used for comparison, these were chosen through the Anglo Saxon dramaturgy. To make the scenes more comparable 4 factors were used for analysis in each scene, these were: clothes, recreational activities, behaviour and environment. Beside the above given factors the heterosexual relationship were analysed and compared in each of the scenes through the theory of dominance in dialogue.Main results: The gender construction occurs obliviously in the older film from 1970 while taking place in a more conscious way in the film from 2005. Further on the heterosexual relationship is perpetually depicted in the 70?s film with a submissive girl and predominant boy, the same dominance is easily seen in the more recent film but with a higher rate of equality as the girl is portrayed as the dominant character in almost half of all scenes.

This in turn has meant that the demand for smaller audio playbackdevices is greater than ever.The goal of this project is to develop a concept for energy-efficient speakers withwireless communication that has the ability to obtain and play high quality music. Thespeakers will use the latest available technology and at the same time, using digitalsignal processing, have a low environmental impact through high energy efficiencyand low power consumption. Parallel to this work a pilot study will be conducted tosee trends in listener preference of sound.The result achieves the goals pledged while power consumption in sleep mode is solow that they meet the demands of tomorrow.

AbstractIn my study I have investigated how a constructed outdoor green environment can beused, managed and how it works. The study also investigates the concept of socialsustainability, where, for example, civil dialogue is a method to promote this. Thisinvestigation mainly gives account for the inhabitants viewpoint but also a gardenersperspective. The study focuses on the planning process of the study object, what theoutcome has been and how the users of the green environment, think about the result. Inthe process there has been a strong concern of involving the residents and others usingthe area.
