The subject for this Master's thesis is the mission of the public library concerning target group everybody. Control documents, traditions, norms and Trends influence how this is interpreted and how the library's service is being formed. The often very abstract terms used to describe the public library's mission makes it open for different interpretations. We are of the opinion that the public library's service should be formed to reflect the needs, interests, and priorities of the community it services, in order to be more attractive and useful.The aim of our study is to examine how the public librarians define and adjust to the mission to satisfy all citizens needs. Why do they choose to concentrate on certain target groups? And what does that show of how the public libraries reflect their communities? Our investigation includes examining six activities aimed at a certain target group and the six public libraries that carried these out.

The focus of the thesis is: how conditions for agriculture in the Republic of Macedonia today may form the basis for development of the agricultural sector towards conditions needed for future accession into the European Union. The method for investigating this question has been to look at newly available farm monitoring system (FMS) data from Macedonia. Also to look at the latest government policies created in the country for the agricultural sector and rural areas in relation to the requirements for EU accession. Articles and empirical studies published by other authors related to the questions which arise in this study have been reviewed and presented herein. Trade relations, trade patterns and national economic and agricultural Trends are displayed to provide a background overview for the study of the agricultural sector.

This essay reviews the situation for real estate agencies within the Stockholm area. In this essay we assume that costumer loyalty is a requirement for survival on the competitive estate market. Two actors have been compared; A well known national Internet-based agency, Skandia Mäklarna, and a smaller local traditional agent Mäklarfirman Grönberg. These actors have been analyzed up on theories on loyalty, relationship marketing, service marketing, quality and involvement .The conclusion of the essay is that it is possible for small estate agencies to compeed with larger Internet based agencies by building loyal relationships with their customers. This can be achieved if the right strategic decisions are made.

To distribute goods to customers in urban areas is necessary to support the economic and social development in the cities, but has consequences that affect both residents of cities as well as the environment. The environmental effects of these types of transport involves not only the emissions of various pollutants, but also an increased noise level inside the cities. Many companies and organizations are working hard to change the distribution pattern to streamline transport in the urban area, while environmental impact is reduced. This is in line with what is called the City Logistics. The purpose of this thesis is to create a method for describing and measuring a given transport solution in order to compare it with an altered transport solution to achieve a more sustainable development.

The war between Georgia and Russia awakened the world pretty brutally when a small country like Georgia tried to restore order in South Ossetia. The war between the two countries took place over five days in August 2008. This paper discusses the Russian operational art and its development after the war. The starting point is to test the traditional and classic Russian theory of operational art. The aim is to describe and discuss the Russian operational experience and any developments and Trends in the Russian Federation's armed forces. The purpose of describing the theory behind the operational art is to create an independent analysis model. The essay?s analysis is based entirely from qualitative research with the collection of qualitative data in the form of texts and documents with a holistic perspective. Initially, the theory chapter is created from an inductive approach to identify, define and describe the operational concept and principles, creating a theoretical model of explanation. The developed analytical model is based on the Russian theory of operational art and takes off from a deductive approach to the collected empirical data. The results of the performed analysis results are interpreted and the product of this presented in the operational conclusions. Russia had a strategic ability to win the war by means of strategic resources related to tempo, simplicity and shock effect on the Georgian troops. Russia carries out a variety of reforms and the outcome of the war demonstrates the importance of Russia having a strategic capacity to make use of one in the type of conflict that Georgia represents. This success shows that the strategic capabilities are initially a success factor, while the deficiencies in the operational and tactical levels cannot be accepted in the long run, but must be developed.

 The theme of this essay arises from problematic pictures which travel journalism can bring about foreign countries, and in this specific case Mexico. These pictures can be problematic in the way that they can carry colonial elements and form colonial discourses. The main purpose of this study is therefore to investigate the Swedish travel magazines, Vagabond, RES and Allt om resor, and how they portray places and people in the written texts and photographs. This was done with a postcolonial and discourse theoretical framework, whereas empowerment of certain pictures can lead to formation of discourses, myths and stereotypes about places and people in Mexico. The method used to reveal different aspects of the travel reports was semiotic analysis, Norman Fairclough?s critical discourse analysis and critical linguistics.

This paper intends to examine how parents think and reflect on gender issues when they borrow books for their children at the library. The theory applied is Yvonne Hirdman?s theory of a gender system. A questionnaire was made available at the Children's department of Uppsala City Library in February, 2010. The material was compiled and analyzed with the intention to try to detect Trends, patterns and themes, rather than statistics and hard data.Parents in the study perceive themselves as gender-conscious.

ur society is today in a phase of development in environmental and sustainable thinking. Alarming reports show changes in climate caused by our load and exhaust of resources. The energy usage contributes to a big part of it, by its emission of carbon dioxide. The built environment uses around 40 % of the total energy consumption in Sweden and requests to strongly reduce it are presented from both EU and national level.This thesis brings up the subject of green building with a focus on how we can create more energy efficient buildings in projects of new construction. Since the construction industry today often fails to pass on the knowledge between different projects, as a return of experiences, the construction company Skanska suggested the topic for this thesis.

Under de senaste tio åren har ett nytt segment öppnats på fastighetsmarknaden,nämligen marknaden för samhällsfastigheter. Politiska beslut från tidigt 90-tal hargjort det möjligt för privata aktörer att etablera friskolor och äldreboenden.Reformerna har möjliggjort att även investera i verksamheternas lokaler. Vid dessaförvärv brukar ett relativt långt hyreskontrakt medfölja och det finns ett starktsamband mellan den förhandlade hyran och försäljningspriset. När förvärvet ärgenomfört och kontraktet sedan löper ut kan det bli problematiskt att avgöra vilkennivå den nya hyran bör ligga på.Hyresgästens betalningsförmåga är en central del i analyserna i denna uppsats.Uträkningen av kommunens så kallade skolpeng respektive omsorgspeng kartläggsför att dra slutsatser om vilka marginaler respektive part har att förhålla sig till och hurdet påverkar den förväntade hyran.I denna uppsats diskuterar vi också huruvida hyressättningen av samhällsfastigheterkan återkopplas till olika kombinationer av hyresrelationer. Incitament till att ta ut enviss hyra kan variera beroende på fastighetsägarens syfte med innehavet.

I den här uppsatsen tillhandahåller vi resultatet av en deduktiv och kvalitativ fallsstudie om företagsinterna processer för framgångsrikt varumärkesarbete med fokus på hur identifiera, prioritera, applicera och omsätta effekterna av omvärldstrender till en framgångsrik och lönsam premiumstrategi; genom att beskriva och analysera detta arbete i två premiumföretag (Haglöfs och BMW). Studien avser att göra ett bidrag till teorin om effektivt varumärkesarbete med fokus på premiumstrategi, nämligen premiumstrategins sammanbindande länkar med hänsyn tagen till dess kontextuella förutsättningar Den teoretiska referensramen utgörs av huvudbegreppen: trender, premiumvarumärken, varumärkesutvidgning samt marknadsposition. För studien valdes två empiriska undersökningsobjekt och relevant information beträffande dessa samlades in via två metoder; dels via en kvalitativ semistrukturerad-intervju samt via dokumentanalys. Detta för att undersöka hur premiumföretag arbetar utefter den struktur och teoretiska modell/bidrag som identifierats i samband med fastställandet av syntesen. Utifrån teorin identifierade vi ett antal förutsättningar samt länkar kopplade till en premiumstrategi.
