In my degree project I have focused on how to make it easier for ambulance personnel to remove a motorcycle helmet after an accident. During my research I have interviewed ambulance personnel from different cities and a Trauma surgeon to get a better understanding of how they work today and the problems they experience. Some of the problem areas are that you need a lot of force to remove the helmet, that the padding catches the ears and that the chin guard catches the face. Since ambulance personnel always assume that there is a neck injury after an accident, all these problems make it difficult to remove the helmet safely.The result is a motorcycle helmet with a focus on safe removal after an accident, to reduce the risk of worsening a neck injury. The solution suggested is that a small part of the back of the helmet is detachable, to make the opening larger.

Uppsatsens huvudsyfte är att undersöka hur vuxna överlevare från sexuella övergrepp i barndomen hanterar sia erfareneheter och läker effekterna av Traumat. Kvalitativa intervjuer har genomförts med fem informanter. De huvudsakliga slutsatserna av materialanalysen är följande: Relationen till make eller annan partner har större positivt inflyttande på läkningsprocessen än relationen till terapeut eller internetbaserade relationer till andra överlevare. Överlevare kan under läkningsprocessen finna en positiv mening i förmågor de tillägnat sig för att överleva Traumat. I läkningsprocessen kan överlevare ändra sina grundantaganden i positiv riktning.

Denna reflekterande rapport behandlar implementerandet av visuella illusioner till dataspel och dess spelmekanik. Arbetet har skett på experimentell nivå där fyra olika illusioner har analyserats utifrån sin förmåga att lura det mänskliga ögat och sedan implementerats i fyra olika spel, där illusionerna står för en del i utmaningen.De fyra olika spelens förmåga att dra nytta av sina respektive illusioner är varierande, men fungerande. Alla spelen lyckas lura ögat i någon form, till den grad att det ökar på själva utmaningen i spelen.Framtiden för visuella illusioner i spel ligger förlsagsvis inom ?casual?-marknaden, där mindre och enkla spel för sporadiska spelare finns. Utvecklandet av egna illusioner med hjälp av kända designprinciper ses som nästa steg i arbetet kring visuella illusioner inom spelmekanik..

The purpose of this essay is to outline the aspects of the rule of law that can be applied to credibility assessment in the asylum procedure, and more specifically what factors influence the assessment of credibility in practice. To evaluate this procedure, a multidisciplinary method has been used. Secondary data has been collected from previous academic research and from legal documents such as the Swedish Aliens Act. Since the area of study lacks a reflection on how credibility issues are dealt with in practice, primary research in the form of qualitative interviews has been conducted.Key findings suggest that the Swedish asylum system does offer a fairly inclusive refugee law and rights protection relating to the rule of law. However, the study also suggests that the decision maker's own subjectivity, lack of training relating to Trauma and torture victims as well as a rigid system of regulations contribute to credibility assessments being arbitrary and discretionary, in violation of the rule of law..

Young men who commit sexual abuse is a complex topic. This study is based on litterature on the subject and the material is processed through a qualitative content analysis. The study aims to study how the litterature describes the reasons why young men commit sexual abuse. It also aims to explore what is described to be effective treatment of young men who committed sexual abuse. The study found that most of the young men who commit sexual abuse comes from families where violence and psycohological abuse occurs. Many have themselves been victims of sexual abuse.

The purpose of this essay is to find out how two schools work with newly arrived children and to see how they differ. There is a lack of national directives for those who work with newly arrived children and teenagers; this makes the introduction very different between schools.The study is qualitative, based on interviews with four teachers in two different compulsory schools. One school is situated in a suburb of Stockholm and the other one is situated in a minor community in Dalarna. One schools got a preparatory class for newly immigrated pupils and the other school doesn?t.The theoretical frame that I have chosen to analyse these interviews are literature and research on Bilingualism, Children with PTSD, Intercultural Pedagogy and Special PedagogyMy results also show that these schools work very differently, and that there is very little co-operation within the school and with the units around the school, regarding these children.

The concentration of acute phase proteins in serum is altered as a response to inflammation, infection or Trauma. this makes these proteins potential biomarkers of unspecific pathological processes. In cattle, haptoglobin and serum amyloid A are the two acute phase proteins that show the largest increase in serum concentration as a result of inflammatory processes. The haptoglobin concentration has been shown to correlate to clinical signs as well as inflammatory processes found at post mortem examination. This feature could be useful prognosis of the individual as well as for monitoring the health status of a herd or identifying carcasses that shold be examined closer at the slaughter-house.

Denna uppsats handlar om hur anpassningen till pensionärslivet sett ut. Det undersöks även om det fanns någon skillnad mellan kvinnor och män. Utifrån en kvalitativ metod har tematiserade intervjuer genomförts. Urvalet bestod av sex ålderspensionärer. Tre kvinnor och tre män.

Uppsatsens syfte är att studera porträtteringen av nationell identitet i Don DeLillos Falling Man och Amy Waldmans The Submission i förhållande till efterverkningarna av 9/11. Studien utgörs av undersökande och jämförande analyser av romanerna utifrån ett litteratursociologiskt samt postkolonialt perspektiv med fokus på nationalism, religion och commemoration.  Studien har presenterat hur amerikansk identitet har ifrågasatts och problematiserats i romanerna Falling Man och The Submission, och visat hur religion, commemoration och nationalism hänger samman med den amerikanska identiteten. En identitet som visat sig föränderlig och problematisk i efterverkningarna av 9/11. Studien har också kunnat visa att böckerna inte ämnar att lyfta fram en gestaltning av identitet som något allenarådande eller fast, utan att de istället visar hur identitet ständigt förändras och skiljer sig från karaktär till karaktär, genom problematiserandet kring tillhörighet, trygghet och Trauma..

The focus of this study is on differences between benign and malignant tumours as well as the prognosis one may expect when diagnosing this disease. The mechanisms responsible for the occurrences of the tumours are not yet fully understood. It is believed that factors such as chronic Trauma, infections, medications and hormones affect the cell mechanisms in some way. Determinants of the malignancy of the tumour are not completely known.

Ambulansarbetet är ibland stressigt och som ambulanspersonal hanteras bland annat Traumapatienter. Det kan upplevas svårt att finna tid till omvårdnaden kring patienten. En del av omvårdnaden är att informera patienten vad som händer för att de ska uppleva en delaktighet och trygghet i vården. I Traumasituationer är det svårt att avgöra hur detaljerad informationen ska vara och hur mottaglig patienten är för information, även patientens medvetandegrad är avgörande. Syftet med studien var att beskriva vad ambulanssjuksköterskor anser om information och vilken information som gavs till Traumapatienter.

Antalet kejsarsnitt, både planerade och akuta, har ökat markant i Sverige under de senaste åren. Syftet med denna examensuppsats var att undersöka hur kvinnor i Stockholm upplevde den psykologiska hjälp, bestående av deltagande i kejsarsnittsgrupper, som de blev erbjudna efter ett akut eller urakut kejsarsnitt samt hur de upplevde bemötandet inom vården. I uppsatsen sammanställdes enkäter som delats ut i kejsarsnittsgrupperna efter sista gruppträffen. Enkäterna handlade om upplevelsen av vården under graviditet, förlossning och sjukhusvistelsen efter förlossningen, samt vad kvinnorna tyckte om kejsarsnittsgrupperna. Enkäten bestod av öppna frågor.

The purpose of this paper was to examine social workers' experiences of integration of unaccompanied children. We aimed to study which factors in the individual and the community social workers experience affect the integration and how they, based on their understanding, work to promote integration. The essay has a phenomenological approach and focuses on the social workers' own experiences of the phenomenon. The empirical data was obtained from qualitative interviews conducted with five social workers, all administrators in cases involving unaccompanied children. The result shows that the social workers feel that the desire to integrate is the most important presumption that must be present in the unaccompanied children.

Syftet med denna studie var att få mer kunskap om kvinnor som aktivt har deltagit i krig, hur det har påverkat deras dagliga liv, deras identitetsupplevelse och deras anpassning i det eritreanska samt i det svenska samhället. Ett ytterligare syfte var att få mer kunskap om vilka hanteringsstrategier kvinnorna använder sig av för att leva ett normalt liv. I studien ingick sju kvinnor. En av undersökningsdeltagarna hade diagnosen PostTraumatisk stressyndrom. Data samlades in med hjälp av halvstrukturerade intervjuer och bearbetades utifrån deduktivt och induktiv tematisk analys.
