The aim of this study was to examine why young females develop self-harm behaviour. We also wanted to look at the differences between young females born in foreign countries and young females born in Sweden and investigate if there were any differences regarding the reasons for developing self-harm behaviour and the actual extent of the self-harm behaviour within the group. We used a qualitative method and performed interviews with nine professionals that work with young females with self-harm behaviour. To be able to analyse our qualitative interviews we used concepts such as modernity, anomie, safety and cultural differences in the bringing up of children. The results of this study shows that self-harm behaviour is a symptom of excessive anxiety, which can be caused by a number of reasons, such as childhood trauma or great demands in modern society.

Kvinnors sätt att se på sig själv påverkas av sättet de lever. Bröst är inte bara en kroppsdel för kvinnor utan förknippas med kvinnans feminina identitet, moderskap, kvinnlighet och sexualitet. Att förlora ett bröst kan bli ett trauma och synen på deras kropp kan ändras. Vårdteam behöver tillhandahålla information och rådgivning som kan hjälpa kvinnor vad gäller deras tankar om sig själva och deras inre skönhet. Syftet med denna litteraturstudie var att beskriva kvinnors upplevelser efter mastektomi.

The cooperation between university and industry life in the region of Gävle is always a topic of importance. University and High schools have various roles to fulfill: except administrating the training and supporting research they should also - as a third role - contribute to cooperation between organizations, business companies and other associations. In addition to that, they should support individuals by local as well as regional development. The purpose of our paper is to make a critical review of the cooperation between the University of Gävle (HiG) and industry life until today and the consequences in order to encourage students to stay in the Gävle region during and after their period of studies.Initial we started with a preliminary inquiry with a questionnaire as a base for students in three programs at the Department of Economy; the program for Bachelor of Science, the program for estate agent and another economy program with direction estate economy. From this preliminary inquiry we got the picture of the way the students looked at the problem.

Purpose/aim: The purpose of this thesis is to examine if, and in that case how, the municipality of Umeå worked strategically with its communication during 2014 when Umeå was chosen as ?European Capital of Culture?. The research is mainly focused on the outlines of their communication plan, main goals, what  communication strategies the municipality has chosen to and their choice of media channels.Material/method: Two methods are used for this research; qualitative interviews with four employees within the communication team during Umeå2014 and a text analysis of three formal documents which provide the framework of communication policies and media strategies during Umeå2014.Results: The results clearly indicate a well structured, strategic planning outlined in the formal documents. Abstract My purpose of doing this study is to investigate the culture of delivering education in a strange combination of subjects labelled ?Language choice Swedish/English?. The activity however exists without curriculum, syllabus or certification. I want to put study the problem of delivering an educational activity without national certification. I will use a hermeneutic approach and render properly the headmaster?s, the teachers? and the students? views on the activity in one school.

Workbooks are used and has been used for a long time in teaching context with younger children. Given that children start grade 1 after one year of preschool, I will in my study examine what type of activities that are presented in textbooks used for teaching younger children in pre-school and school grade 1. The purpose of the study is, through a selection of published skill-training materials investigate its pedagogical basic view related to reading and write form of education in pre-school and school grades 1. In line with the aim of the study and to answer the study questions, a qualitative text analysis and pictures analysis was carried out. The result shows that there are more similarities in content than the forms of the textbooks, there are assumptions about language as well as how images should be interpreted in a right way.

The purpose of this study is to extend the understanding of how professionals in modern organisations want to be managed. We especially investigate professionals changing industries to describe if, and how, aprofessional in this situation is becoming a professional again after the change. This to find connections between intrinsic motivation and attitudes towards professionalism on one side, and applicable managerial methodson the other. Best practice in managing professionals is traditionally considered to be non-invasive methodologies such as indoctrination and training. Beyond that, operational-level management is usually considered to be bound to fail.The analysis suggests the following:? A professional changing industry will become professional again.? The driving force for becoming professional again is the strive for horisontal specialization, induced by higher education.? This is a qualitative study based on interviews with professionals who are cooperating at a children advocacy center, in swedish called ?Barnahus?. The center, Barnahus, pulls together law enforcement, criminal justice, child protective service, medical and mental health workers in to one coordinated team. Children suspected to be victims of any kind of violence or sexual abuse shall, at Barnahus, be offered coordinated efforts and support all the way from suspicion to possible intervention. The aim of the study is to examine how the participants involved relate to collaboration in Barnahus. The study will also present the success factors and barriers to collaboration that identifies by the participating actors, who are mentioned above.The study will provide insight and understanding of how collaboration can be represented in multiprofessional activities in practice..

This paper is about the use of task boards in agile system development projects. The main focus is on how digitalized versions of the task board can be of assistance during the development process. Our investigation is based on qualitative studies, with system developers of various backgrounds and professional roles, along with studies of relevant literature. The main results are that a digitized version of the task board can increase awareness for the team and be of major importance if it is accessible through the web. On the other hand negative effects of the digitalization can emerge as well.

The purpose of this thesis was to study managers in the tourism market who works with internal marketing towards their personnel. A case study with two tourism providers, Hotel La-ponia and Mix Ranch, was performed. The cases were based on personal interviews with the hotel manager at Hotel Laponia and with the owner of Mix Ranch. The research questions were based on why tourist providers use internal marketing and how tourist providers use internal marketing. The findings were that it was regarded as very important to have moti-vated, satisfied, and properly trained personnel in this business because they are the ones who have direct communication with the clients and they are an important issue to help the com-pany to success.

Förevarande kvalitativa studie hade som syfte att få fördjupade kunskaper om hur det kan upplevas att komma som ensamt flyktingbarn till ett okänt land, samt hur man idag som vuxen ser tillbaka på dessa upplevelser. Materialet analyserades med hjälp av meningskategorisering i en hermeneutisk ansats och grundade sig på halvstrukturerade intervjuer med fyra finska krigsbarn vilka idag uppnått pensionsålder. Resultatet visade skilda upplevelser vilka kan förstås genom olika bemötanden från fosterfamiljernas sida, hemförhållanden, ålder vid tiden för separation från föräldrarna, vistelsetid i det nya landet eller kontakt med biologiska föräldrar. Upplevelserna förefaller ha verkat traumatiserande för den enskilde individen vilket lett till konsekvenser i vuxen ålder. Koncentrationssvårigheter, separationsångest, rädslor, svårigheter att lita på andra och dålig självkänsla är några av följderna men även positiva konsekvenser såsom anpassningsförmåga, har nämnts i intervjuerna.

Att drabbas av en brännskada är ett stort trauma för patienten med många smärtsamma behandlingar och en lång rehabilitering.  All vård oberoende av karaktär utgår från ett möte med patienten, det vill säga att vård och behandling bygger på en vårdrelation. Det är sjuksköterskans ansvar att genom omvårdnad och ett vårdande förhållningssätt skapa en sådan relation. Det är av intresse att tydliggöra vilka fenomen i omvårdnaden som förklarar graden av tillfredsställelse eftersom det är en central och viktig del i allt vårdarbete för sjuksköterskor och undersköterskor. Syftet: Syftet är att beskriva hur patienten uppfattar omvårdnaden i samband med en brännskada. Metoden: En fenomenografisk metod har använts.

Landscape architects has many ways of transforming our cities and landscapes. Traditionally, most attention has been put to visual qualities. Pen and paper are well established as the way to present proposals and to analyse in the landscape architects profession and training. But are we perhaps missing out on other ways of seeing the landscape? The purpose of this paper is to present sound as a tool of transformation. Sound in public spaces has long been treated just as noise and therefore unwanted.

Syftet med studien var att undersöka vad som krävs för att specialläraren med inriktning utvecklingsstörning ska kunna skapa ett samarbetsklimat inom teamet som ger optimala förutsättningar för elevernas lärande och utveckling. Arbetet har utgått från tidigare forskning kring ledarskap i skolan, träningsskolans pedagogiska praktik och betydelsen av delaktighet och samarbete i arbetslivet. Ett historiskt avstamp har gjorts utifrån synen på hur utvecklingsstörning utvecklats, samt hur särkolan vuxit fram.  Studien har utgått från ett kvalitativt perspektiv, där jag genom en fenomenologisk ansats sökt förståelse kring speciallärarens roll som teamledare. För att undersöka hur speciallärarens sätt att leda och fördela arbetet inom personalteamet kan påverka ansvarsfördelningen, känslan av sammanhang och därmed även möjligheterna till måluppfyllelse för eleverna har jag genomfört gruppintervjuer av befintliga personalteam.
