Working horses in developing countries are mostly used for transportation. They are often owned by people with limited economical resources and lack of knowledge about how to take care of the horses and due to this the horses often suffer from problems such as dehydration, poor body condition, lesions and parasitic infections. The aim of this master thesis was to investigate if free veterinary care improved the health and hydration status of working horses in Nicaragua and it was performed as a part of a project called ?Free veterinary assistance for working horses and training of their owners as veterinary promoters in the Pacific coast of Nicaragua?. Five parameters were used to investigate whether free care improved the health of working horses in six towns along the Pacific Coast of Nicaragua.

The population growth in Europe and with that in Sweden was enormous under 18th century. The results became housing shortage in large part of Europe. Tight residency/ inhabited, poverty and emigration were series of social questions in Sweden. Private house (egnahem) as in the beginning was an idea from England and Germany became a political measure and the answer at those miserable social circumstances in Sweden. The purpose with the private house (egnahem) was to help those new people moved in to towns with place to live and counteract movers to towns and emigration. With the governmental loan and land availability that some municipalities and wealthy people contributed with, could people get a place to live with the small garden. The city garden (trädgårdstaden) with their future idealistic idea/utopia, English gardens, ideas with roots in the old-fashioned gardens (allmogeträdgårdar) and lots of books and periodicals were the source of inspirations. From these the private house gardens (egnahemsträdgårdar) were born. Object for my study is my and my family?s own house in Limhamn, south west of Malmö which was built in 1912 under private house gardens era. The garden and the building have still trace and element from the time of private house. My suggestion is inspired by the private home style with a new thinking design that answers to daily need and the busy life style; a rather easy to maintain for green environment. A more relaxing and peaceful garden with simple design, a garden despite that it is surrounded by neighbours and streets invites in harmony and dreams..

To be able to plan for the expansion of a town, one needs a vision of the future appear-ance of the town. It is the current issues (social situation, supply and demand, political control etc.) which decide what the ideal for town planning is. This is turn is the steering factor of the physical structure of the town. Therefore, the town's structure is decided by these ideals.In this report, I will present planning ideals that have historically been, and which criticisms that have been directed towards them. With reference to these issues, I will present those guidelines and ideals we have today for planning of our towns.

AbstractThis essay is an investigation where I try to gain an increased knowledge of the three assistants? (in the mentally disability profession) opinion about their education and their first years in their profession. I have also tried to answer the questions whether the course mentally disability/functional gives the students a good start in their profession, if there are any flaws or if something is missing in the course or if they can think of any improvements to make the course better.This investigation is performed as a qualitative interview study where three women were interviewed about their education and their first years as assistants? (in the mentally disability profession). All the interviewed women have been working in the care activity for two or three years since they graduated.

Syftet med denna kvalitativa studie är att ta reda på hur transitionen mellan grundskolan och gymnasiet organiseras och utformas för elever i behov av särskilt stöd. Vi har valt att intervjua två rektorer på gymnasieskolor samt en rektor på en grundskola med årskurs 9 elever. Metoden är en kvalitativ forskningsintervju vars huvudsyfte är att fånga fenomenet transition ur skolledares perspektiv. Anledningen till fokus på skolledare är att det ytterst är skolledarna som är ansvariga för organisering och utformning av transitionsprocessen för elever i behov av särskilt stöd. Resultatet av vår studie visar att det till stor del är enskilda skolornas normer och traditioner som påverkar transitionernas kvalité för elever i behov av särskilt stöd. Organisering och utformning utgår dels från vilka resurser och kompetenser skolorna har och dels från vilket specialpedagogiskt perspektiv som dominerar verksamheten..

In Sweden there are currently two separate guidelines you may use whenperforming calculations on frameworks, BKR and the Eurocodes. Although at theend of 2010 you are not allowed to use BKR any longer and only the Eurocodeswill be viable. The aim of this thesis is to explain how the Eurocodes and EKS work and alsohow they compare to the current guideline BKR. Similarities and differencesbetween these guidelines are also discussed so that the reader will get a betterunderstanding of how the Eurocodes are applied. The areas discussed are asfollows:Principles and adviceSafety ClassesSymbols and IndexesLifespanLoads and partial coefficientThe thesis also deals with the impact that this transition into a new guideline willhave on corporations, guideline costs, education and computer software. As anexample a rough estimate on what costs this transition will create on a companywith 20 employees is also included. Calculations have been performed in order to investigate how the design valuesdiffer between the two guidelines, the Eurocodes and BKR.

With the ambitions to rehabilitate individuals with different kinds of work disabilities through work, the government owned Samhall AB has a long history as labour market measure in Sweden.To show Samhall AB its importance, the company has requirements to fulfill the goal that around 5 percent of their employees, at Samhall AB, every year shall be transferred to an employment outside the company, which is called transition. Unfortunately since this goal was introduced it also created several dilemmas. One dilemma is the long lasting female under representation in transitions from Samhall AB to the regular labour market.The essays main task is to investigate the factors behind the female under presentation in transition from Samhall AB through a genus perspective and by using quantitative and qualitative method.The main conclusions are that female under representation in transitions from Samhall AB are basically caused by structural factors. Samhall AB?s strong industrial tradition and particularly the strong segregation between female and males on the regular Swedish labour market may inhibit females in their transitions.

The downsizing of the Swedish armed forces during the late 20th century and early 21 th century has caused several thousand people to choose a different career. This undergraduate thesis investigates the self-observed employability and work-place competence of a number of Swedish armed forces officers who has made the transition to a civil career. The thesis seeks to answer questions about how the transition is comprehended, how military merits and competences are valued in civil work places and which differences in ability to use their competences the respondents experience. The study is made using qualitative interviews, which are analysed using a miexed method inspired by phenomenological method. The findings include that the essence of the respondents emplooyability is a shared work indentity as miltary officers and a common experienced problem in translating their merits.

The challenges facing low voltage grids are rising as an increasing number of domestic houses transition from fossil fueled heating to electricity based heating. Several environmental goals and visions have the same transition from fossil based power to electricity based power in mind for the transportation sector. One of the most important tools for this transformation is widely regarded to be the electric vehicle. With the demands of the electric vehicle pressuring the power grid, several questions arise regarding the growth of the electric vehicle market and what repercussions it may have on the grid. This paper focuses on a typical low voltage grid in southern Sweden and what effects a growing electric vehicle market may have on it. Through computer-assisted simulations based on several future scenarios regarding the EV market, this paper finds that few modifications and reinforcements are needed on this particular grid within the next 10 to 15 years.

Denna konsoliderande process ämnar till att förankra det demokratiska styrelseskicket i samhället. Begreppet konsoliderad demokrati är i sig omdebatterat.En transition, som kan vara en övergång eller en återgång, till demokrati kan föra med sig någon form av auktoritärt arv. Detta auktoritära arvet kan sedan utkristalliseras genom att de valda, civila politikerna inte kan fatta beslut på vissa områden, främst då det handlar om hanteringen av minnet från en auktoritär period. Detta kan i sin tur innebära att det demokratiska styrelseskicket inte förmår tillfredställa dess medborgare och missnöjet expanderar.

Introduktion Bröstcancer är den vanligaste formen av cancer bland kvinnor, i Sverige diagnostiseras omkring 7000 kvinnor varje år. En bröstcancerdiagnos med efterföljande behandling kan innebära en livskris då en kvinna ifrågasätter den egna identiteten varav självuppfattning och kroppsbild är två punkter som kan beröras och orsaka lidande. Med fördjupad kunskap om patienters erfarenheter av hur självbild och kroppsuppfattning påverkas vid en bröstcancerdiagnos och behandling kan sjuksköterskan individualisera stöd och omvårdnadsåtgärder för att minska lidande hos denna patientgrupp. Arbetet har sin utgångspunkt i teorin om att en förändring i en människas hälsotillstånd leder en transition, då människans upplevelse av sin identitet utmanas. Syfte Syftet med uppsatsen var att beskriva kvinnors upplevelser av en förändrad självbild och kroppsuppfattning vid en bröstcancerdiagnos och behandling.

Att ha genomgått en hjärtinfarkt kan väcka många olika känslor så som chock, rädsla, osäkerhet och känsla av att kroppen aldrig kommer att bli densamma. Syftet med denna litteraturstudie var att beskriva personers upplevelser av livet efter en hjärtinfarkt. I litteraturstudien analyserades 17 studier med en kvalitativ innehållsanalys och med en manifest ansats. Analysen resulterade i fyra kategorier. I resultatet framkom att kroppen kändes förändrad på många sätt och personerna var tvungna att genomföra livsstilsförändringar till följd av hjärtinfarkten.

The curriculum of the Swedish school system explains how the transitions between the preschool class and the pre-school should be.
