The ambition with this study is to look into and create an understanding for how an intranet can work as a support system in work processes in capacity as a source of knowledge. We want to enhance the understanding for which kind of knowledge that can be coded in and transmitted by an intranet, and which that is lost in this process. We also want to clarify what it takes to get this knowledge, in collaboration with the intranet, to support the work in an organization. It is a qualitative case study at a Swedish bank. It consisted of semi standardized, half structured interviews with five people in one of the bank?s local offices.

I och med detta har det bestämts att Kiruna stad under närmsta åren kommer att flyttas och byggas om. Kiruna kommun utlyste i samband med offentliggörandet av stadsflytten en arkitekttävling gällande byggnationen av deras nya stadshus. Tävlingen vanns av danska firman Henning Larsen Architects vilka valde att i samarbete med konstruktörerna på WSP:s kontor i Luleå projektera Kirunas nya stadshus.I detta examensarbete utförs en studie av stadshusets atrium där klimatet studeras genom CFD simuleringar (datorbaserade flödessimuleringar). I studien har klimatanalyserna begränsats till sex stycken extremfall där temperaturfördelning, tryckfördelning samt lufthastighet beskrivs.

The aim of this master's thesis is to examine whether librarians working in public libraries see fiction as a source of knowledge, and what role this plays in the educational mission of the public library. This investigation, which consists of a literary study and an empirical section, shows that the concept of phronesis denotes practical wisdom and moral thinking, and that it can be applied to that form of knowledge to which reading can contribute. An important issue in this context is the reader's motivation to learn. The interviews show that librarians see literature as a source from which knowledge can be drawn. When they mediate literature, they believe that they are conveying something of value and they set great store in mediating literature which could have a not inconsiderable import to the borrowers.

Examensarbetet utfördes i samarbete med Transient Design som är ett företag i HiFi branschen. Examensarbetet behandlar utvecklingen av en skivspelare vilket hade som mål att ge förslag på ett designkoncept samt bidra med relevanta tekniska lösningar.Arbete inleddes med en förstudie som syftade till att bygga en bra grund för att på ett bra sätt kunna utföra resten av arbetet. Den stora delen av förstudien var dels en marknadsundersökning av enklare typ avsedd att skapa en bättre bild av den tänkta målgruppen och dels litteraturstudier inom ämnen som vibrationsteori och mätutrustning. Då en stabil grund för arbetet formats gick projektet in i idégenereringsfasen där en stor mängd olika förslag på både design och tekniska lösningar var resultatet. Utifrån denna stora grupp med förslag utfördes en rad urval med vidareutveckling däremellan.

The main purpose of a Flight Data Recorder (FDR) is to facilitate the investigation of incidents. In order to interpret the data that has been recorded in the FDR the data has to be visualized in some way. This can be done with software on a computer or with hardware that is specific for the model of aircraft that the data originates from.The aim of this project is to visualize data for six parameters from the FDR of Saab 2000 in an avionics rig. The avionics rig resembles the cockpit of Saab 2000 and the displays in it are identical to the ones found in the plane. All six parameters are shown on the same display.Due to safety regulation vital systems in aircraft are doubled, with one system on the left side and one on the right.

Recent turmoil surrounding nuclear power as an energy source, especially since the accidentat Fukushima, has largely contributed to the debate of whether or not nuclear power should beused as an energy source. This study has examined the economic feasibility of replacingForsmark?s 3rd nuclear reactor with a bio fueled power plant, and find out how this could bedone.The power generation that has to be replaced is equal to 1170 MWe. To replace this, 6 largescaleCFB-boilers, each providing over 200 MWe, were necessary. In addition to this, eachboiler required their respective turbine sets, comprising one high-pressure-, and one lowpressureturbine with intermediate reheating capacities.Based on this, a rankine-cycle was modeled using the software EES, to be able to calculatethe total heat required in the power plant.

The purpose of this study was to examine whether urea could be an option as a nitrogen source for young cattle, the study was limited to risks related to feeding, growth and feed efficiency. Microbes in ruminants have the ability to convert nitrogen to protein, this has been highlighted by beef producers as they are in search of cheap protein feed resources. Urea can be a worthy source of nitrogen for growing young animals, because of its high nitrogen content and the low price. Studies have shown that the replacement of a portion of the total protein content by urea in diets with low content of crude protein, like corn silage, may improve animal growth and feed efficiency. Replacement of all the true protein with urea can result in reduced feed intake and microbial growth.

In February 2002 the European commission put forward a proposal for a new directive on The patentability of computer-implemented inventions, but which during my work on this essay has not been decided on yet. The directive has divided the decision-makers in the union, the commission and parliament, into two different positions regarding by which range computer-implemented inventions should be patentable. The parliament has amended the commissions proposal in a substantial way and the legal process has caused a heated debate both within the unions administration and among various interest groups both in favour of and against a patent on computer-implemented inventions. The loudest protests have come from a group that feels threatened by a possible software patent: Open Source. In this study I examine both the arguments by the decision-makers and by the lobbying for and against the proposal.

Parkeringsproblemet finns i storstäder över hela världen. Med fler människor som skaffar bilar och större städer som inte hinner med i utvecklingen av stadsplaneringen så kommer problemen att öka. Felparkeringsavgifterna i Sverige ökar år efter år och datumparkering är en stor del av det i Gävle. Syftet med arbetet är att utveckla en prototyp på en parkeringsapplikation som på ett enkelt sätt visualiserar var det är tillåtet att parkera. Ett annat delsyfte är att undersöka vad bilförare kan om datumparkering och om en applikation kan hjälpa till att lokalisera platser där det är tillåtet att parkera.
