The purpose of this thesis is to analyze DVD covers for the genre romantic comedy from the 2000s as a way to obtain patterns and codes provided by the genre. The theoretical framework consists of previous research that analyzed various posters, theories about semiotics, genre, and visual rhetoric.  These theories will help answer the main question and help with the analysis.The objects for observation are ten DVD covers from the genre romantic comedy and a qualitative content analysis is used for this thesis. The movies are from the US and they are all high in Box Office. Box Office stands for how many tickets were sold and how much money a film has earned.

In 2011, the new upper secondary school curriculum Lgy 11 set out to distinguish the characteristics of the two subjects Swedish and Swedish as a second language. This thesis analyzes the consequences, or rather the underlying premises for such a characterization with the contradictory ideologies of the multicultural society as a point of departure. Using theories of cultural and linguistic hegemony, the thesis applies an ideological critique to the comparative text analysis of the two curriculums. The aim is to reveal the underlying assumptions of the two student bases as representatives of the majority society and the minorities. The results show that the characterizations of the two subjects are dominantly made along the line of the multicultural experience versus linguistic and cultural heritage.

This essay will examine the seasonal word known as kigo ?? which mainly appears in the japanese haiku. The purpose is to offer a suggestion of how a systematic explanation of the semantic peculiarities of kigo could be conducted. The object of this semantic analysis is the kigo tsuki ? (moon).

In recent centuries the Swedish Tiled Stove has varied in its design with an aesthetic evolutionary history that has not only followed the architectural and artistic ideals but also the taste in stove design. The heat source has varied depending on the regional traditions and where it was located within the country, but the inside of the construction was of a similar five channel system. The purpose of this paper is to study and compare the design of tile matrices made by Emil Petterson with other Swedish stoves. The following questions will be addressed:What characterized the production of a small scale tile stove workroom during the years 1900-50? Which main styles can be described as Emil Pettersson?s ideal while producing his matrices? And finally, is it possible to study the tile stove matrices as objects of historical and cultural significance, and what difficult methodological issues might occur in the doing of it? To answer these questions I will present the results of the documentation of Pettersson?s tile matrices with detailed historical categorizations and schedules. The conclusion shows that Pettersson as a stove builder and -producer was characterized by eclectic ideals and a design shape based on more liberal interpretations of contemporary trends.

Syftet med detta examensarbete har varit att undersöka lärares attityder till tematisk undervisning samt vad som ligger bakom dessa. Vi har använt oss av kvalitativa forskningsmetoder såsom kvalitativa intervjuer samt observationer. Sex lärare har intervjuats och två har dessutom observerats under fyra sammanhängande dagar. Av vårt resultat framgick det att ingen av lärarna hade en renodlad positiv eller negativ attityd till begreppet. Lärarnas definitioner av begreppet varierade samt vilka fördelar och nackdelar som lyftes fram.

Globaliseringen har lett till nya forum för transnationella förbindelser och öppnat upp för grupper, organisationer och företag att sprida sig och bredda sina kontaktnät över hela världen. Kan dessa möjligheter erbjuda legosoldaten en ny marknad och nya uppdragsgivare? Om så är fallet hur kan vi hindra, eller alternativt utnyttja, en sådan situation? Om legosoldaten, i form av moderna privata företag, än en gång beträder slagfältet på order av legitima härskare, hur skall vi hantera situationen? Och vem är vi?.

Den psykiska ohälsan ökar alltmer i samhället och en utsatt grupp är universitetsstudenter. Ett uttryck för psykisk ohälsa är utbrändhet, som består av tre dimensioner: emotionell utmattning, cynism samt bristande upplevd prestation. Positiv hälsa har av tradition inte studerats lika mycket, men har kommit att intressera allt fler forskare. Ett begrepp inom positiv hälsa är psykologiskt välbefinnande, som består av sex olika dimensioner. Föräldraskapets betydelse för den psykiska hälsan har visat sig variera, varför syftet med studien var att undersöka hur föräldraskapet påverkar det psykologiska välbefinnandet och graden av utbrändhet hos studenter.

I det här arbetet undersöker vi hur retrotrenden påverkat digitala spel. Vi undersöker hur retro blivit en erkänd stil och varför den har blivit det. Vi undersöker dess koppling med nostalgi, hur nostalgi fungerar och varför man kan tänkas vilja använda sig av det när man ska utveckla ett digitalt spel. Retro är inte ett fenomen som är medie exklusivt till digitala spel, vi undersöker hur retro verkar i andra medier och hur medierna blandar retroelement med varandra. Det är inte ovanligt att samtida digitala spel influeras av retrospel eller rent av utvecklas i syfte att bli ett nyproducerat retrospel, detta är något som vi gestaltar i vår produktion av ett digitalt spel.

Aim Developmental Coordination Disorder Questionnaire 2007 (DCDQ'07) is an international survey tool based on parents' estimation of their child's motor coordination skills. The purpose of this study was to investigate the validity of a Swedish version of DCDQ'07 by finding out how the classification of Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD) via DCDQ'07 is consistent with the classification of DCD via the motor impairment test, Movement ABC.MethodIn the context of a larger study, a Swedish translated version of the parent survey DCDQ'07 were sent to 4000 randomly selected families with children aged 8 - 10 years in Stockholm County. The classifications "DCD" or "NOT DCD" with cut-off values ??of 56 (9 years) and 57 (10 years) were applied. Forty families were selected from 410 registered responses.

Större företag har ofta en större budget och även resurser som aktivt arbetar med att bevaka omvärlden. Den sortens resurser finns inte i mindre företag eftersom kostnaden att hyra in konsulter för hjälp med omvärldsanalysarbete är för hög. Det i kombination med att kunskap saknas om hur ett omvärldsanalysarbete kan genomföras resulterar i att det ofta inte blir av.

This text examines the ideological positions, as they appear in texts of central importance, of four Swedish protagonists ? Antipiratbyrån, Konstnärliga och litterära yrkesutövares samarbetsnämnd, Creative Commons i Sverige and Piratbyrån ? in copyright issues. The critical analysis is focusing on three themes ? economy, culture and civic rights and responsibilities ? and poses the questions of how the ideology of the protagonists relates to the changing processes between culture and economy in the society of today, and which interest of classes, understood in Marxist terms, they favour. Before defining the theory and method of the inquiry the authors give their understanding of the changing processes between economy and culture.

Detta är en kvantitativ uppsats, baserad på en surveyundersökning där vi på ett explorativt sätt försöker ta reda på eventuella skillnader utifrån olika sociala faktorer som tradition, målmedvetenhet och ekonomi. Gruppen vi undersöker är studenter som läser antingen fristående kurs eller program på Kristianstad Högskola. I denna enkät använde vi oss av fyra bakomliggande variabler som bestod av kön, ålder, vilken studieform respondenten för tillfället läste och huruvida respondenterna hade föräldrar med högskola eller universitetsbakgrund. För att utföra en bivariat analys användes Chi två test för att hitta eventuella statistiska skillnader mellan grupperna. Vi testar våra hypoteser genom att selektivt använda oss av frågorna och påståendena från enkäten tillsammans med resultaten från de bivariata analyserna.

This thesis has two purposes: (1) to analyze the emptiness in Blodbok by Christine Falkenland, and (2) to analyze my own reading of the same book. I have chosen to focus on how emptiness is expressed through the body, the language and the place in Blodbok, because of the deep impact these seem to have on the emptiness. The thesis discusses what kind of emptiness that is described, what it does to me as a reader, and how it is connected to other works by Falkenland. Questions concerning the Cultural Heritage must be integrated in social planning.Therefore there is a need for adequate methods for cultural environmental analysis, toreceive knowledge that is relevant in an integrated conservation. The thesis is a review ofmethods for cultural environmental analysis and discusses the qualifications necessary fora method in order to receive adequate information as well as it discusses what kind ofinformation to be considered relevant. The thesis also analyzes a specific method forcultural environmental analysis in order to exam if it has got the qualifications concludedas necessary if it is to be used in an integrated conservation. The conclusion is that amethod for cultural environmental analysis should collect information about the entireenvironment (integrated information about nature and culture, in a historical perspectiveand how it is today), about social structures, physical remains (buildings etc) and what thecollected information tell about the history of the studied area, as well as what is importantin the landscape of today. Information about how the environment should be treated in thefuture is also of importance.
