In 1975 the Indian president Indira Gandhi proclaimed the emergency period which would go on until 1977. Under this time approximately 8 million men and women were sterilized in the name of family planning. Many of them did not volunteer. This was not just an Indian con- cern because the family planning program was largely funded by international aid. The Swe- dish involvement in the program was debated 1977?1980, in what has been called ?SIDA?s Watergate?.

Populärkulturella fenomen når ut till ett stort antal människor och representationen av olikasaker blir således viktig eftersom det kan avspegla hur människor uppfattarolika ting. Syftet med min uppsats är att undersöka representationen av de trekvinnliga karaktärerna, Jules, Ellie och Laurie, i tv-serien Cougar Town. De teoretiska begreppsom står till grund för min analys är bland annat, representation somdefinieras i boken Genus, medier ochmasskultur skriven av Linda Fagerström och Maria Nilson och som AnjaHirdman också behandlar i sin avhandling Tilltalandebilder. Vidare har jag använt mig av begreppet postfeminism som både Karen Boyle (Massmedia and Society, 2005)och Karen Ross (Gendered Media, 2010) skriver om i sina böcker.För att undersökarepresentationen av de olika kvinnliga karaktärerna i tv-serien använder jagmig av Keith Selby och Ron Cowderys bok Howto study television. I deras bok finns olika steg att gå igenom för attkritiskt granska television, jag har vidare valt att fokusera på den narrativaoch konstruktionsanalysen med fokus på mise-enscène och den icke verbala kommunikationen samt klädkoderna.

Växjö is a medium-sized town situated in the centre of the county Småland in Sweden with a good infrastructure and logistics and with a university that encourages cooperation with private and public companies. It is in this town that our case study of Småland Airport will take place. The aim of this study is to examine in which way the program of Library and Information Science at the Linnaeus University in Växjö offers knowledge that can be relevant for the staff at the airport in Växjö - Småland Airport. Using Wilsons model as our theoretical framework we examine how these two align with each other and by using a matrix that we ourselves elaborated in our analysis, we provide a clear picture of how the comparability two places comparability is represented. The result shows that there are compatible aspects to the Småland Aiports needs and what the program of Library and Information Science has to offer.

This diploma work was performed because the company Sveriges BostadsrättsCentrum, with the abbreviation SBC, had a need to gain insight into how changes in the Work Environment Act and related regulations which took effect January 1, 2009 affecting their work with the work environment. The changes mean that the client may hand over his work environment responsibilities to a contractor and that he has to select so-called building work environment co-ordinators. At SBC they are working as representatives for tenant-owner's association when a construction is about to be carried out. The purpose was to ascertain how changes may affect the work at SBC. The diploma work intends to educate the staff at SBC how work with the work environment would look like if they met the regulatory requirements.

Syftet med arbetet är att belysa tendenser som finns inom den kommunala planeringsretoriken gällande tillgänglighet till tätortsnära friluftsområden. Examensarbetet syftar även till att granska hur de utvalda kommunernas målformuleringar kring tillgänglighet till tätortsnära friluftsområden har konkretiserats i kommunernas översiktsplaner, om det går att finna samband mellan målformuleringarna och de statliga direktiv som finns samt om någon målkonflikt finns. Over the years, what people have considered as the center of Stockholm City has gone from the medieval Stortorget in Old Town to the contemporary Sergels Torg. But more recently it has become unclear how the area really works. It is difficult to say where the actual central part of Stockholm lies, because while the Central Station is where the majority of people arrive into town, it is not necessarily close to Sergelstorg (considered the center of town) or other attractive commercial areas. There's also another issue with where the center of Stockholm is located. The railways and roads running along Klarabergs Viaduct acts as a divide between the areas of Kungsholmen and Norrmalm; these rails, roads and water separate the two areas from each other. In response to this problem of area division, a plan is being made to construct a new district near the center to mend the gap between the districts. The idea is that the center of Stockholm city will become more lively and attractive. The plan includes building new housing, commercial areas and a larger terrace called Mälarterrassen. In addition, improved mobility within the area is being planned by having better public transportation lines like City banan and tram named Spårväg City construction, as well as more pedestrian areas shall make the area become a district to thrive in.How the area will actually operate in the future is still unclear and many questions still exist about how the area will be able to compete and, above all, integrate with the other districts. The parts considered to be most important for the area is the scale of residential property and an attractive area that keeps people in the area and to encourages them to pass through the area. Perhaps the best solution would be to have something special planned in this area that can attract people in the community ? a city park, for example?.

It is widely recognized that the town of Södertälje, a small Swedish town of 85 000 inhabitants, has alone received more war refugees from Iraq than the US and Canada have put together. Whilst writing this thesis had nearly 6000 Iraqi refugees sought their way to Södertälje since the US invasion in Iraq 2003.Nevertheless, life is not what the media and the government retail. Six of these Iraqi refugees who resided in Södertälje share their life stories in the following thesis. They discuss their escape from Iraq and the difficulties of living in the segregated parts of Södertälje where they solely speak Arabic and Assyrian, whilst learning Swedish at sfi (Svenska för invandrare, Swedish for immigrants). Another distress is related to the unsecure future in Sweden waiting ahead.      The aim of this thesis is to engage in, and highlight the studies of six sfi-students in their endeavor to learn Swedish, whilst struggling through Swedish bureaucracy and experiencing despair due to their situation and uncertain future.       .

Det här är en uppsats omfattande 15 högskolepoäng i ämnet fysisk planering. Uppsatsens titel är ?mellankommunal översiktlig planering ? möjligheter och begränsningar? och undersöker vad begreppet innebär, både i lagens mening och i praktiken, vilka frågor som kommunerna är beredda att samplanera om och hur de gått eller tänker gå tillväga. För att konkretisera frågeställningen har tre stycken fall med olika karaktär valts. Den slutliga frågeställningen handlar om vilka likheter och skillnader som finns i dessa valda fall. Metoden för uppsatsen har till största delen utgjorts av studier av kommunala dokument; översiktsplaner, samrådshandlingar, dokumentationer etc.

En tät och funktionsblandad stad med ett rikt folkliv ses många gånger som dagens stadsbyggnads-ideal. Genom förtätning kan stadens kollektiva lösningar utnyttjas effektivare men samtidigt så belastas de mer. En av dessa kollektiva resurser är det offentliga grönområdet och grönskan är viktig för människan och staden. Denna uppsats behandlar konflikten som uppstår när staden blir tätare och grönområdet riskerar att påverkas av den växande staden. Studiens resultat består av två delar.

Förslaget syftar till att utveckla och förbättra området omkring Bergåsa centrum, ett lokalt stadsdelscentrum i Karlskrona, samt parkområdet Monsunen . Detta ligger i linje med de intentioner som kommunen redovisar i sin översiktsplan (2002) där man redovisar avsikter att rusta upp lokala centrumområden i kommunen. Bergåsa centrums funktion som lokalt stadsdelscentrum ska stärkas och göras mer tydlig, parken skall förnyas i syfte att förbättra dess funktion och användning. Förslaget avser samtidigt att hitta en bättre lösning för trafiksituationen i området vilket omfattar korsningen Sunnavägen/ Valhallavägen, järnvägsövergången samt trafikmiljön i övrigt. Tillsammans ska dessa åtgärder ge Bergåsa centrum en viktigare roll som stadsdelscentrum med större attraktivitet och med förbättrade kvalitéer i många avseenden.

Faktorer och kriterier som har betydelse i den reella miljön, men som även är möjliga att läsa i planförslag är fokus för detta examensarbete som syftar till att undersöka huruvida gångmiljön kan kvalitetssäkras i planförslag genom analys av kriterier. Detta görs genom litteraturstudie av forskning, vägledande dokument och utvärderingsmetoder för befintliga miljöer, med innehållsanalys som metod. Vilket därefter analyseras för att prövas på den fallstudie som görs på en stadsdel i Karlskrona. Undersökningen visar att hantering av faktorer och kriterier varierar stort i forskning men även i vägledning för planering samt att analys av kriterier i planförslag kan vara problematiskt. Uppsatsen påvisar att kvalitetssäkring av planförslag har en rad fördelar i den fysiska planeringen.
