Relationers påverkan på destinationsvarumärken : En fallstudie av två destinationers turismnätverk

The purpose with our study is to create an understanding of how Tourism stakeholders within a Tourism network can affect a Destination Marketing/Management Organization?s (DMO?s) work with the destination branding process. To fulfill this purpose we have clarified different relationships that can influence the DMO?s place marketing. In order to limit our study we have chosen to focus on two Swedish destinations, Öland and Norrköping, and their DMO?s.

In this essay we have been trying to get an understanding of what Swedish charter tourists cares for when they are going on vacation. The Tourism industry is a major field with a lot of winners, but it also comes with consequences. The purpose with this essay is to get an understanding of how aware the Swedish charter tourists is of these consequences. We would also like to get a perception of how the tourists themselves believe that their presence effects the locals at the destinations they are visiting (if they assume that they are). There are several different types of consequences that can appear in the context of Tourism, but we have decided to focus on one kind.

The Tourism industry is a young industry in Sweden but important for the economy and a large part of the field is mountain Tourism. Marketing a place is called destination marketing, which has become a huge phenomenon and an important part of efforts for promotion in the Tourism industry. The entrepreneurs in the Tourism industry are an important part, as these are a big part of the destination. Their marketing and communication becomes a force to reckon with in order to attract tourists to the area. The purpose of this study is to examine how entrepreneurs through destination marketing reach their target market and with the intention to identify marketing channels that the entrepreneur uses.

Festivalturismens inverkan på destination och attraktion : En studie kring Storsjöyrans påverkan på Östersund

This essay will examine in which way festival Tourism can affect the physical location of a festival and to operationalize this we implemented a case study of the music festival Storsjöyran. Storsjöyran is a Swedish music festival held annually in the city of Östersund and since the festival, with the accompanying festival week, attract up to 300 000 visitors annually, we wanted to see what impact the festival contributed to from a development perspective of the destination. The method for gathering data has consisted of both qualitative and quantitative approaches and the data was collected via interviews and questionnaires. We also presented various theories about festival Tourism and destination development, as well as previous research on urban festivals. The conclusion is that Storsjöyran contributes to a variety of factors which can help Östersund to a destination development and increased Tourism.

Intern marknadsföring i turistföretag

The purpose of this thesis was to study managers in the Tourism market who works with internal marketing towards their personnel. A case study with two Tourism providers, Hotel La-ponia and Mix Ranch, was performed. The cases were based on personal interviews with the hotel manager at Hotel Laponia and with the owner of Mix Ranch. The research questions were based on why tourist providers use internal marketing and how tourist providers use internal marketing. The findings were that it was regarded as very important to have moti-vated, satisfied, and properly trained personnel in this business because they are the ones who have direct communication with the clients and they are an important issue to help the com-pany to success.

Dark Tourism är en reseform som länge studerats men som ännu inte har någon enhetlig definition. Begreppet innefattar resor till forna slagfält, mordplatser, kyrkogårdar, platser där kända personer dött, minnesplatser, evenemang och utställningar med reliker och annat återskapande av döden. Då resor till Dark Tourism attraktioner blivit en allt mer populär reseform har vi genom den här studien valt att studera vilka bakomliggande intressen och anledningar som gör att människan väljer att besöka en Dark Tourism attraktion. Underlaget till studien grundar sig på fem semistrukturerade intervjuer med personer som besökt Dark Tourism attraktioner samt två berättelser av våra egna erfarenheter av ett besök vid en attraktion.Studiens resultat visade att det finns olika faktorer som påverkar varför turister reser till en Dark Tourism attraktion. Vi kunde däremot genom studien se att det fanns två faktorer som främst spelade in.

The purpose of this paper is to describe and analyse the Chinese destination of Hainan, with background in a globalizing Tourism destination development, for Tourism from Finland and Sweden. The questions at issue are regarding what kind of an impact the status as a special economic zone have had upon Hainan, what kind of conditions there are for Tourism on the island, in what form participants of the Tourism industry want the development to proceed, what the prevailing trend is for distant destinations for Nordic markets and also regarding what kind of potential there is for organized Tourism to Hainan from Finland and Sweden.As a foundation for the paper, I?ve composed a theoretical reference for knowledge of China, Hainan and the study of destinations. The sources of secondary kind are literature related to the subject. The primary sources are mainly interviews, field work done at Hainan has given a concrete and personal knowledge of the place.

Sustainable destination development has in recent years become an increasingly important concept for Tourism destinations. A destination must take into account the environment if it wants to continue being a successful Tourism destination in the future. This essay investigates what needs to be developed on theislandofSandhamnfor that the destination can be more attractive in the off season and how the players on Sandhamn integrate to develop Sandhamn in a sustainable manner. One market research and interviews with five different players were made. Through these interviews grew an understanding for how the cooperation between the municipal and the private party looks like and how the history of Sandhamn is the foundation for the islands Tourism development.

För systemets skull och inte för naturens bästa : En studie av hållbar turism inom boendesektorn

In this study environmental work in the Swedish hotel chain "Scandic" is investigated. Earlier studies point out sustainability and different environmental certificate programs as essential for the housing sector to contribute to sustainable Tourism. The purpose and willingness to fulfill such a mission has been investigated by interviewing central actors in the hotel chain. The result shows that there is a desire to be part of environmental certificate programs mainly for the reason to be part of the system and not for the benefit of nature. Sustainable development is understood as being environmentally friendly. Different solutions to adapt and being more environmentally friendly is discussed.

Hållbar utveckling + turism = sant? Intressen inom projektet Exportmogen destination i biosfärområdet Vänerskärgården med Kinnekulle

This essay examines whether, and if so to which extent, the project Export MatureDestination in the Biosphere Reserve Vänerskärgården with Kinnekulle can combine the goalof the Tourism industry, i.e. to double Tourism between 2010 and 2020, and the goals of theBiosphere reserve, i.e. sustainable societal development and a sustainable biosphere economy.The aim is to examine how key individuals in the project approach sustainable developmentand economic growth, representing the two main interests in the area. Examining the state ofthe two interests the following examples are used: the position of sustainable development inregard to economic growth, the opportunities and challenges in the area and unity concerningthe goals of the Tourism development in the region. The study is conducted through qualitativeinterviews with key individuals and a descriptive document analysis of the most importantpolicy documents.
