Currently, the whole globe is faced with serious problems which negatively affect people around the world: increased pollution, excessive waste, and weather pattern changes. ?Left? and ?right? wing political parties alike have embraced ?green? politics and for many of these parties, environmental issues have become a top priority that is very much reflected in their manifestos. This study examines the environmental goals of two of Sweden?s largest political parties and how these ambitions are reflected at a local level.

Service delivery acts like a process. This can enable the possibility of attracting attention towards the company who?s making use of this, furthermore generate several opportunities. However, it?s far from easy to deliver new services.

According to the client, land survey of Sweden, there is no current information regarding other well developed property tax systems. This information is necessary in order to analyze the effectiveness and develop the Swedish system. The purpose of this study is to contribute with improvement proposals to the development of the Swedish property tax system through a survey of the English and Welsh property tax system.Methods used are: (1) a literature review where the English and Welsh valuation methodology and organization regarding property taxation is studied; (2) an interview with the client at the land survey of Sweden regarding existing problems with the Swedish property tax system; (3) An interview with a contact person of the Valuation Office Agency regarding the English and Welsh property tax system.In England and Wales there are two different property taxes for municipals, Council Tax and Rating. All domestic properties are included in Council Tax and commercial properties or part of commercial properties is included in Rating. Council Tax is based on the properties market value and Rating is based on the commercial property or part of the properties current rental value.

Närheten till Danmark och utvecklingen av Öresundsregionen har länge skapat positiva och dynamiska effekter för Skåne, med ökade investeringar och etableringar. Avståndet mellan Sverige och Danmark är kort vilket underlättar rörligheten för kapital, varor, tjänster och arbetskraft. På den svenska sidan om Öresund är den privata tjänstesektorn med högutbildad arbetskraft huvudsakligen koncentrerad till sydvästra delen av Skåne. Malmö är Sveriges tredje största stad med nästan 300 000 invånare, denna region är länets ekonomiska motor. Intill Malmö ligger Lund som är en av Sveriges största studieorter. Med omkring 30 000 studenter och 10 000 inflyttade varje år är det en snabbt växande stad.

Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka hur Karlskrona kommun skulle betygsättas utifrån Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan verktyget ADVANCE. Studien utgår framförallt ifrån forskningsförhållningssättet fallstudier, som framförallt har genomförts med hjälp av metoderna litteraturstudier samt ADVANCE. Litteraturstudierna har framförallt bestått av de strategier Karlskrona kommun har antagit angående dess mobilitetsplanering och ADVANCE har använts som ett verktyg för att kunna upptäcka de positiva och negativa effekter dessa strategier har för kommunen. Utifrån denna fallstudie, samt genom diskussioner med Lars Olofsson (trafiknämnden, Karlskrona kommun), analyseras de resultat som verktyget ADVANCE visar upp, i dessa analyser ges även exempel på lösningar som Karlskrona kommun skulle kunna använda sig av för att kunna förbättra sin nuvarande mobilitetsstrategi.

Befolkningstillväxten i städerna har varit stor under 1900-talet. Det har inneburit att de gamla industriområden, som till en början låg utanför stadsgränsen nu har hamnat i stadens centrala delar. Dessa områden har på senare år tappat i attraktivitet som industriområde och söker nu nya användningar. Syftet i mitt examensarbete har dels varit att ta fram ett kunskapsunderlag kring tre viktiga frågor som är förknippade till denna typ av områden ? buller, barriärer och återanvändning av industrimiljöer.

Purpose of this thesis is to study the impact of wind turbines on their surroundings. It also aims to analyze how the communication looks between the authorities, the planner and local residents prior to the establishment of wind turbines in Lännäs/Odensbacken in Örebro, where three wind turbines set up in a group.The results of this survey show that the participants experience themselves not as especially disturbed of the turbines in the form of large noise, shadows, and sleep disturbance indoors and outdoors. Participants felt that no change had taken place on the natural environment (52%) since the turbines became operational. It was 49% of participants had got no information about the establishment of Örebro Municipality, Örebro County Administrative Board or Wind Power Company. Scientists/­experts had the highest confidence of 86%, politicians and the media/journalists had least confidence.

Hidden away in the pristine landscape on the northeast shore of the Dominican Republic, the remote village of Miches is on the verge of shifting its economic resource base from traditional fishing into what could become an international model for sustainable tourism. The aim of this thesis was to produce a vision of a waterfront park near the center of the village; demonstrating concept-based landscape design that reflects the goals of sustainable development originating from the local incentive structure. A composite landscape analysis and design concept both served to inform and guide the design work, which was executed through model building, hand drawings, and production of a visual presentation in the format of an architectural competition entry. The design concept, All invited, signifies the distinction between the development that is about to take place in Miches and the otherwise common all-inclusive resorts, where tourists are set apart from the local community and spend most of their time within the fenced-off premises of the hotel. All invited also captures the typical Dominican hospitality, and mirrors the aspirations of turning Miches into a safe and welcoming place for visitors. The result is a public park design that is equally inviting local residents as it is to tourists, and where the unique qualities of the site are emphasized without being exploited.

The purpose of this study has been to examine reading habits and the use of the library by pre­school teachers in a mainly multicultural community, and also explore to what extent activities in the local library are aimed at preschoolers.The study used a sociocultural approach based on Vygotsky?s theories of learning and development and Söderbergh?s theory of early childhood language development, and was carried out during the summer 2009. The methodology used was both quantitative and qualitative, with a combination of questionnaires and interviews. Questionnaires were sent out to each section of the municipal pre­schools within the catchments area of the local public library in a multicultural suburb of Uppsala. Three short interviews were carried out with staff at the local and main library branches, as well as library staff at the County Council.The results show that, although preschool teachers find reading important in their work, many teachers read spontaneously and/or sporadically.

Om förbandet kallas ut blir det första gången sedan sextiotalet som Sverige fullgör tjänst med krigsflygplan utomlands. Swedish Air Force Rapid Reaction Unit, SWAFRAP AJS 37 skulle ställas i 30 dagars beredskapDenna uppsats syftar till att beskriva och analysera den planeringsprocess som har genomförts på F 21 ur de traditionella perspektiven problemformulering, genomförande och utvärdering avseende detta nya förband.Undersökningen har genomförts som en fallstudie på F 21 och avgränsats till AJS 37. Planeringsprocessen har studerats genom intervjuer av chefer inom SWAFRAP organisationen.Studien pekar på att processer av detta slag är ytterligt komplicerade och kräver mera forskning om vi skall lyckas förstå alla ingående komponenter och deras interaktion..

The purpose of this study was to examine the discourses that can be identified in medias representation of social services. To answer the purpose we made a critical discourse analysis using Faircloughs three-dimensional model. The choice to focus our study on a local newspaper was based on earlier research that found it possible that a local paper has a greater impact on readers than a national newspaper. Readers can more easily connect with what's happening in the immediate environment than what is written nationally. We used articles published in 2013 containing ?social services?.

Stockholm has in recent years experienced a strong population increase but despite that fact, the demand for housing has not been followed by enough housing contracts. According to forecasts, growth in population will further be continued upward. With more condominiums than rental units on the market, new apartments are too expensive to live in. This creates unsustainable problems for those in lower classes of society. Creating a housing market in the periphery of Stockholm is not sustainable from a social perspective.

Översvämningar har potentialen att göra stora skador på sociala, ekonomiska och ekonomiska aspekter i samhället och antalet översvämningar har ökat i Sverige på senare tid. Naturens miljöer klarar sig dock bättre inför naturkrafter som översvämningar på grund av att ekosystemen utvecklats under långa tidsperioder och är anpassade till föränderliga förhållanden, till skillnad från människans urbana miljöer. Naturens system är resilienta. Människan har sedan tidigare hanterat översvämningar genom att försöka stänga vattnet ute från bebyggda miljöer men sedan 1990-talet har synen ändrats till att låta vattnet ta den plats det behöver (kallas integrerad översvämningshantering). Klimatanpassning har nu blivit allt mer angeläget vid planering och stadsutveckling.

When the purpose is to create an illustration plan for a new neighbourhood there arelots of things to think about. In this report follows a description of the three differentplan modells SCAFT/TRÅD, garden city and ekological planning. SCAFT is aplanning model that were used in the 1970s. It contains proposals how to make thetraffic enviorment safer. TRÅD replaced SCAFT in 1982 and it contains also adviceshow to make the traffic enviorment safer.
