En attraktiv stad är ett vitt begrepp. Vad som är attraktivt för någon behöver inte vara det för någon annan. Vissa faktorer bedömer jag dock att de flesta är överens om krävs för att vi ska trivas i staden. Det handlar om fysiska och sociala faktorer men också om rekreationsmöjligheter, historia, kulturutbud, skönhet med mera. I dettta arbete har jag studerat de fysiska faktorerna närmare och kommit fram till att skala, entréer, gruppering av hus och tydlighet i stadsrummet är viktiga ingredienser i områden där människor bor och arbetar. Dessa fysiska faktorer har jag sedan försökt att arbeta in i ett förslag till stadsförnyelse i industriområdet Sorgenfri i östra delen av centrala Malmö. För att få en bild av vad som gör staden attraktiv har jag bland annat studerat dess historia och dess parker och grönområden.

This master thesis explores the nature of public participation as a central and most current subject in the field of urban planning. A first impression exposes a seemingly unanalyzed consensus on the values and benefits which public participation provides the process of urban planning. The city may be a concern to all its inhabitants; hence knowledge and opinions of the local public are of great importance for the urban development. But is there really something new to these assumptions, and are the advantages of increased public participation in urban planning always obvious?  By using action research as a main method, I have put myself into the context of the Swedish municipality of Nacka and their projects dealing with the development of public participation.

The purpose of this report is to find a model of statistics for construction and demolition waste, which makes it useful for the local manager at the building site. The intention with the model is that it will be used as a support of the local manager, to direct his project towards reduced strain of the environment. The model will also be used to make it easier to control that the claims from authority and aims for the environment are achieved. To familiarise with the subject waste handling within the building and construction sectorI have done a literature search. I have also been studying rules and regulations regarding the waste handling.

Stadens form är en viktig faktor som påverkar människans val av fysiska aktiviteter och livsstil i allra högsta grad. Idag drabbas befolkningen i västvärlden allt oftare av livshotande sjukdomar som hjärt- och kärlsjukdomar, högt blodtryck, fetma, diabets typ 2 och benskörhet. Dessa sjukdomar kan härledas till att människan har anammat en allt mera stillasittande livsstil och en avsaknad av fysisk aktivitet. Samhället har utvecklats och moderniserats genom effektiv teknikutveckling som gjort att människan inte behöver anstränga sig fysiskt i lika stor utsträckning. Städerna har vuxit och blivit funktionsuppdelade och avstånden mellan städernas målpunkter har blivit längre. Det blir ofta bilen som förblir det självklara transportmedlet mellan dessa destinationer. Värdefulla grönytor som används för rekreation och en biologisk mångfald får allt oftare ge vika åt städernas frammarch och utbredning.

In Sweden according to the planning and building Act municipalities have planning monopoly. The question about shopping centres in the outskirts of cities is a regional issue, because they attract customers from a large area. Municipalities often find it hard to assert themselves against large commercial companies when it comes to their establishing new retail outlets on the outskirts of cities. Without a regional co-operation there is a risk that municipalities can be played up against one another, so that more and more companies are given permits without the municipalities having taken the strategic consideration necessary for a long term sustainable development. The focus in this work is on four municipalities in the Södertörn region (Södertälje, Botkyrka, Huddinge and Nynäshamn).

Regionen kring Öresund befinner sig i ett expansivt skede, vilket bidrar till att trycket på bl.a. småhus i området har ökat och Trelleborgs kommun är intresserad av att ge Skegrie en större utbredning. Skegrie är en av de tre främsta utvecklingsorterna i kommunen. Den är belägen längs Skegrie byaväg, invid E6 mellan Malmö och Trelleborg. Det bor ca 560 människor i byn.

Public participation in urban planning is meant to increase democracy in the planning process. Even though all citizens have the option to participate in urban planning debates, few seize their chance to partake. This thesis describes a study on how user needs are met and prioritized in design processes concerning urban planning. The aim was to determine whether user-centered design (UCD) methods could be used as an avenue for public participation in urban planning and ultimately invite more citizens into the planning process.The thesis details a design process where a team worked to develop Farsta, a suburb of Stockholm. The design problem was the question of how Farsta could become an attractive business location.

Syftet med denna uppsats är att undersöka relationen mellan de två nationella miljökvalitetsmålen, Ett rikt odlingslandskap och God bebyggd miljö. Sveriges mest högproduktiva jordbruksmark finns till stor del i Skåne. Skåne har sedan 1960-talet haft en positiv befolkningstillväxt större än resten av landet. Kombinationen mellan stor andel jordbruksmark och positiv befolkningsutveckling gör Skåneregionen intressant att undersöka. Uppsatsen görs i form av en forskningsöversikt och en fallstudie av Tomelilla tätort. Fallstudien består av planeringsförutsättningar där kommunala och regionala dokument samt lagstiftning med mera behandlas. Vidare görs en scenarioanalys genom scenariokors, en utvärdering av Tomelilla kommuns översiktsplans utbyggnadsförslag för Tomelilla tätort och en realistisk byanalys. Uppsatsen visar att det finns en vision att kombinera de två miljökvalitetsmålen Ett rikt odlingslandskap och God bebyggd miljö men att det finns en skillnad mellan vision och handling när det gäller bevarande av jordbruksmark vid bebyggelseutveckling. Tät fysisk struktur identifieras som en struktur som tar hänsyn till jordbruksmark vid bebyggelseutveckling. Uppsatsen avslutas med en avslutande diskussion av mer fri karaktär, diskussionen tar upp behovet av verktyg för förtätning och frågan om en större arena för planering av hushållning med jordbruksmark behövs..

The main advantages they can see is that they are able to influence technical solutions and methods that will be used later on in the production. Therefore it is important to consider when construction workers should be involved in the planning process so that they get the chance to influence in this decisions.When it comes to the decision making the construction workers should be involved in the decisions that are related to their tasks in the production such as technical solutions, choice of methods and materials. Their main duties and working hours should be in the production.Involvement in planning does not automatically mean that the construction workers are involved in the decision making, it is up to them how much they participate.

The aim with this Master's thesis is to study the debate that takes place in the local community when a public library branch is threatened by closedown through the local newspapers. Through this it is our aim to understand why the debate takes place, and why so many people gets concerned with it. By relating this debate to contemporary research of library- and information science, and the discussion in three major Swedish library journals, we have found the answers to these questions. By studying the debate, we found six subjects that where essential for this study. These were Politics and economics, Urban and rural districts, Democracy and accessibility, The service of the library, The meeting place and To replace a closed down library.

The running of a Swedish pre-school is not just about taking care of children but involves incorporating educational activities that follow curriculum guidelines. In addition, time must be allocated for planning, discussion, evaluation and reflection. Many pre-school teachers feel that there is insufficient planning time which is needed to follow the established curriculum guidelines for kindergarten. Due to the rising numbers of children per class, and the obligation to document and evaluate everything, pressure and lack of time has become a significant issue.The purpose of this study is to investigate four pre-school teachers´ views on pedagogical planning and reflection time. Questions to be answered include:1.

The municipality of Olofström is intensifying the co-operation with Sölvesborg and Karlshamn, the two other municipalities in the west of Blekinge. They co-operate in two local federations and for the moment negotiations are going on about a third local federation in continuation school, but the municipalities do not agree. The aim of this thesis is to examine why Olofström co-operate with Sölvesborg and Karlshamn, if there are any problems and where the limit of this co-operation is. The method in the thesis is qualitative interviews with local politicians and officials and an actor-structure-perspective is used. The result shows that Olofström is a municipality where the population is decreasing, and it has lost state subsidy during the last decade.

Bakgrund: Ohälsotalen ökar och bristen på fysisk aktivitet är en bidragande faktor. Näridrottsplatser byggs för att främja befolkningens hälsa. Flickor har dock en hög frånvaro på näridrottsplatserna. Det är ett problem för samhällsplanerarna som ej vet hur de ska bygga för att få flickorna mer fysiskt aktiva. Det är värdefullt ur ett jämställdhets- och folkhälsoperspektiv att alla individer får ta del utav de hälsofrämjande arenor som finns att tillgå i samhället.

Arbetet har som syfte att undersöka hur kommuners arbete med fysisk tillgänglighet finns med från visioner i översiktsplanen till detaljplanens utformning. Arbetet har sin utgångspunkt i två dokument, Boverkets granskning av tillgänglighet i översiktsplaner och årets rapport från Humana där landets kommuner undersökts i sitt arbete med tillgänglighet utifrån ett mer praktiskt perspektiv. De två kommunerna som ingår i detta arbete är Trelleborgs och Osbys kommun. Trelleborg är en av de tre kommuner som Boverket lyfter fram som föredöme i sin granskning och Osby är för andra året i rad på första placering i Humanas rankning av kommunerna. Det intressanta är att Boverkets och Humanas undersökningar befinner sig på två nivåer i planeringsprocessen, Boverket på den översiktliga och Humanas på den detaljerade, och om de två kommunernas dokument visar sig stämma med denna indikation eller ej.

När en stad växer måste man ta ställning till hur det ska ske. Idag är biltrafiken dominerande i Göteborg och i framtiden skulle spårbunden trafik och utbyggd pendeltågstrafik i regionen kunna innebära mer hållbara tranporter. En pendeltågsstation har ett relativt begränsat omland och behöver för fullt utnyttjande bebyggas nära inpå. Den spårbundna trafiken kan dock innebära störningar och risker. Jag undersöker i mitt examensarbete hur en ny stadsdel utanför Göteborg kan byggas ut kring en tänkt pendel­tågs­station.
