Todays travel trends go towards independence and self planning. If you need advice or help when performing your trip, there are several different series of guidebooks on the market and one of these series comes from the travel magazine Vagabond. This degree project concerns the redesigning of the travelguides of Vagabond, or to be precise: their cityguide over Istanbul. The purpose of the new design is to assure the resemblance between the guidebook and the magazine, as wanted by the Art Director of Vagabond Angelica Zander.Prior to the redesigning process preliminary studies that make up the fundamental ideas were made. Three other big titles of guidebooks on the market were analyzed, and in addition a great deal of focus ? considering the final purpose ? was put on the concept of magazine design.

Förtätning är ett planeringsideal som i dag framhålls som en viktig hållbarhetsstrategi och som har växt sig allt starkare både internationellt och nationellt. Städernas tillväxt bidrar till att de urbana grönområdenas förutsättningar förändras och i många fall påverkar förtätningen centrala grönområden och grönytor vars kvaliteter och värden riskerar att gå förlorade vid exploatering. Syftet i detta arbete har varit att undersöka grönstrukturens betydelse i den täta staden. Vidare har syftet varit att genom en fallstudie av Rambergsstaden i Göteborg undersöka grönstrukturens funktion, så som den uppfattas av olika aktörer och aktuell forskning, för att komma fram till vilka konsekvenser för grönstrukturen en förtätning av området kan leda till. En metodkombination av intervjuer/enkät, inventering/kartanalyser samt en litteraturstudie har använts för att besvara frågeställningarna och på så sätt belysa arbetets syfte. Slutsatserna som kan dras av detta arbete är att grönområden i staden har en viktig betydelse både utifrån ett ekologiskt, socialt och kulturellt perspektiv. Utifrån fallstudien går det att dra en slutsats om att det finns en skillnad i hur kunskaper om grönområdens betydelse förstås och hur det används i praktiken. Fallstudien av Rambergsstaden visar att det finns en medvetenhet, hos aktörer som är involverade i projektet, om grönområdens betydelse men att det finns svårigheter i att motivera dessa kunskaper i praktiken eftersom andra intressen i samhället väger tyngre och kan motiveras starkare..

Syftet med arbetet är att belysa och diskutera rättviseaspekten i fysisk planering under 2000-talet utifrån ett antal begrepp och kriterier om rättvisa relaterade till kontexten för fysisk planering. Vidare är syftet att tillämpa dessa begrepp och kriterier i en analys av rättviseaspekten i det pågående planeringsprojektet Östra Kvillebäcken i centrala Göteborg. Arbetet inleds med avsnittet Rättvisa i samhällsbyggandet som tar upp rättvisa som begrepp, hur rättvisa kan kopplas till staden samt det svenska systemet och planerarnas roll. Ambitionen med avsnittet är att ge bakgrund och förståelse för begreppet rättvisa och för hur planeringen påverkas av det system som byggts upp i landet samt vilken möjlighet planerare har att styra utvecklingen mot ett mer rättvist utfall. Efter det här följer en forskningsöversikt ifrån vilken de kriterier som används för att analysera Östra Kvillebäcken hämtas. Där på följer arbetets undersökning som består av en fallstudie där platsens kontext analyseras och en innehållsanalys görs. Analysen av platsens kontext syftar till att ge en förståelse för platsen och dess förutsättningar.

Inledning: Detta är ett examensarbete på 20 poäng inom Programmet för Fysisk planering, vid Blekinge Tekniska Högskola i Karlskrona. Arbetet innefattar en Robusthetsanalys över Djurängen och Rinkabyholm i Kalmar kommun efter en metod framtagen av Expertgruppen för säkerhet och förvaltning, ny- och ombyggnad. The aim of this thesis is benchmarking of the program, based on dynamic programming, that earlier was written to imitate the production planning at TSS.This thesis starts with a chapter about the construction of the DP-program, a shorter description of one and each of the program parts and also a list over the in- and output data in each program part. The DP-program consists of six linked MATLAB-files that together produce an optimized production plan for the different planning groups at TSS. The program reads in and reformat the given data and optimize the production of the articles in one group. Finally it compounds all article production plans and give us a production alternative.After running the program with new data the result shows, resembling with previous results, that TSS could be able to make some distinct cost-savings. According to the program, a 50 % decrease of TSS production costs is possible. .

This project is the result of a cooperation between HalmstadUniversity and EABAB. The aim of the project was to create a macro that would help EABAB automate the process of designing steel trusses. When run in Microsoft Excel, the macro imports and processes coordinates from a calculator program. The data is then imported into the Building Information Modelling software Tekla Structures, which creates a 3D structural model of the steel truss.The macro saves much time in the project planning process and also helps minimize the risk of design flaws caused by human error. .

AimThe aim of this study is to discuss process orientated education by identifying and describing general elements in two alternative pedagogies that in different ways attempt to separate themselves from the didactics in the traditional school. The questions are:1. How do the general elements for example the pupil, the knowledge and the lesson, in classroom education appear at a Waldorf and a Freinet school respectively?2. How do the general elements for example the teacher, the lesson planning and the overall goal, that teachers obey to and create in their lesson?s planning appear at the two schools respectively?MethodThe study is based on four days of observations in one ninth grade class at a Freinet school and a corresponding amount of time in one eighth grade class and one ninth grade class at a Waldorf school.

This masters thesis takes the providers perspective on public library story times for children. The main questions are: What perspectives can the providers have? How does the perspective affect the content and how is the story time drawn up? Five story time providers were interviewed about the purpose of their story times, the methods they used and the content they chose. A model with four criteria was used to analyze the result of the interviews. The criteria were: adult criteria, consideration of the childrens view, pedagogical criteria and literary/story time criteria.

I samband med min utbildning till fysisk planerare stötte jag på begreppet trygghet flera gånger. Dock nämndes detta sällan i samband med belysning, utan endast andra aspekter togs upp. Därför tycker jag att det behövs närmare undersökning av hur vi egentligen upplever att en trygg miljö ska vara. Det behövs närmare undersökning av hur denna upplevda trygga miljö påverkas av en annan sorts belysning. Detta leder således till att denna uppsats behandlar ämnet trygghet i relation till belysning, med en inriktning på rörelsestyrd belysning.

When a decision is to be made on what long term strategic forest management plan to use, consideration must often be taken to multiple objectives. Such decisions are very complex and a promising approach to handle them is by Multiple Criteria Decision Analyses (MCDA). The study is based on the problem that the MCDA that have been implemented into forest management planning have only had capacity to compare and evaluate a limited number of management plans; which means that there is a risk the most suitable plan is missed. The aim with this study was to test the applicability of combining the MCDA tools: the Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) and the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) for including consideration to multi-objectives into strategic forest management planning. The study was based on the process of creating and selecting a management plan, using Heureka PlanWise, suitable for all the major objectives found in the forest holdings of a municipality in northern Sweden.

The study aims to contribute knowledge about children's perceptions of the leisure-time as a learning environment. The study can be seen as an attempt to highlight the possible learning in the leisure-time, formally or informally.The study is based on two group interviews with a total of 11 children and was conducted by an interview guide with question areas to be discussed freely so that the children could give as full an answer as possible.Main results of the study show that children feel that they are staying at the leisure-time to get care when their parents are working and that they primarily associate the leisure-time with playing. The results show however that children feel that they learn things when participating in the leisure-time teaches controlled activities.It is possible to draw conclusions about the child actually experienced the leisure-time as a learning environment, but it can be difficult to identify when and how learning actually occurs. However, children do not perceive that there is learning while they play..

Large areas of Lodgepole pine (Pinus contorta var. latifolia) were planted in the 1970s - and '80s. The purpose of the fast-growing species was to increase growth and with short rotation periods allow a rapidly increased harvest level. Today a large proportion of the young forests owned by Holmen Skog, Iggesund are covered by Lodgepole pine and an active forest management is required to spread the harvested volume over time which is desirable by a market perspective. The purpose of this essay is to investigate the possibility of spreading the harvested volume of Lodgepole pine over time.

Denna rapport är ett kandidatarbete i fysisk planering inom kursen Stadsanalys. Syftet med arbetet är att med en Realistisk byanalys av Norra Kungsgatan och egen inventering av busstorget Kungsplan i Karlskrona och dess omgivningar se på möjligheterna att skapa ett småskaligt torg på Kungsplan. Sammanfattning Malmö är idag i en övergångsfas från att ha varit ett industrisamhälle till att bli ett kunskapssamhälle. En sådan övergång leder till att industrierna måste ge plats åt kunskapsföretagen. I samband med dessa industrier i före detta profilerade industristäder som Malmö finns ett stort kulturhistoriskt värde förknippat. Att omvandla kulturhistoriska områden utan att inskränka på dess historiska värde är inte alltid lätt. Därför har regeringen arbetat fram det kulturpolitiska målet där termen kulturmiljövård introducerades som ett samlande begrepp för att bevara och levandegöra kulturarvet samt kunna spegla samhällets och inte minst industrialismens historia. Arbetet har utifrån detta studerat kulturmiljöbegreppet för att sedan göra ett funktionsomvandlingsförslag för kvarteret Gjuteriet i Malmö där Ljungmans verkstäder bedrev sin verksamhet förr med hänsyn till platsens historiska värde.
