Transportation of pigs might be a welfare problem. Stress during and after transportation can negatively affect the meat quality or cause carcass damages, which leads to major economic losses every year. The transportation chain can be divided into several stages; loading, transport and unloading. This literature review focuses on unloading of pigs from a transport. When arriving at an abattoir pigs can be fatigued and need to be as smoothly unloaded as possible.

The purpose of this degree project was to examine which remedies are available to individuals when the State has violated their right to a fair trial as stated in article 6 in the European Convention on Human Rights. Furthermore, the aim was to, in cases where the remedy is determined to money, to clarify the indemnity rates that apply in determining the non-pecuniary damages. The starting point was a review of the European Court practice, domestic Swedish practice and relevant literature.The outcome of the review is that the remedies available to the individual?s disposal can be divided into two categories: primary and secondary remedies. Primary remedies mean compensation not consisting of money, and must be exhausted first.

This paper examines Systembolaget and Svenska Spel, two Swedish state-owned enterprises, both functioning as monopolies. Systembolaget is the state owned monopoly for marketing of alcoholic beverages. Svenska Spel is the state owned gaming operator. Svenska Spel's task is to provide citizens with gaming products. Both companies are expected to market their products and services while taking caution and minimize damages, but are also supposed to deliver various degrees of economic revenue.

Efforts to achieve a moisture proof construction process have proved to be considerably complicated, despite the knowledge and awareness that now exists within the moisture field. Materials, documents, templates and checklists are designed to be accessed but are not used anyway. This may be because such effort has not been prioritized and properly requirements have not existed from the commissioner of a building.This report illustrates how the commissioner of a building project can achieve a moisture proof building process by increasing knowledge, moisture proof planning, and implementation of security moisture routines. Proposals are given on how the commissioner of a building project can work to consistently bring a moisture proof building process in all stages. The difficulty with regular moisture proof efforts, the authors believe is mainly due to the following points:      Many different design solutions.      Lack of experience feedback.      Lack of communication.      Financial incentives.      Attitudes.The interviews in the report have conducted with the help of a qualitative analysis, while the survey has been done using a quantitative analytical method.

In the tropics, logging and wild fire can result in degraded secondary forests with lower biodiversity than in the natural forest. One way to limit forest degradation is to rehabilitate the present large areas of secondary forests. However, there is a lack of knowledge concerning the ecology of tropical tree species and further studies would be advantageous for future rehabilitation efforts of degraded rainforest. The objective of this study was to investigate how mother trees in secondary forest and different site factors affect the abundance and spatial distribution of natural regeneration of non-pioneer tree species in a tropical rainforest in Sabah, Malaysia. The study took place in the INIKEA Forest Rehabilitation Project area, which suffered from wild fire in 1983 and has been selectively logged over both before and after the fire. Natural regeneration and site variables were inventoried in plots, while mother trees were inventoried in the whole survey area.

This degree project investigates how elk, roe deer, red deer and fallow deer can affect an estate in Östergötland. The inventories performed within this project, were completed on an estate in Selesjö, northern Östergötland. This property is used to demonstrate wildlife management. The methods used in this study were originally developed for areas larger than individual properties. Three inventories were completed in the study. These included the recording of the number of droppings and the amount of eaten pasturage, as well as the level of damage on young trees.

In Sweden, the labour movement historically had influenced both society and politics. In recent times, it is considered a change in society with a stronger employer party while the unions weakened by reduced unionisation. This study aims to highlight the presence of individualistic and collectivistic approaches to the labour market in relation to union density. The different approaches are investigated in the labour market by means of a quantitative survey. The study's survey items are workers in the timber industry.

Clearcutting systems have been the dominating silvicultural approach during the last decades in the Nordic countries. While economically rational, it is also leading to a trivialisation of the flora and fauna, and may result in negative reactions of people in urban settings. As a consequence of this, and a more diversified view on which goods and services forests should deliver, there is an increasing interest in broadening the range of silvicultural methods that are used. The term continuous cover forestry (CCF) represents a suite of methods that have gained increasing interest in the Nordic countries. In CCF a considerable amount of the trees are left after harvest to favour values that require a continuity of tree-covered areas. There are thus hopes that this method will meet the needs for maintaining biodiversity and satisfy social and cultural values.

Från och med den 1 januari 2002 har närstående till en person som dödats genom en skadeståndsgrundande handling en i lag (5 kap 2 § skadeståndslagen) reglerad rätt till skadestånd för personskada som har åsamkats dem till följd av dödsfallet. Lagstiftaren har lagt ett stort ansvar på rättstillämparen gällande inte minst då det gäller att avgränsa gruppen ersättningsberättigade. Här tvingas jurister göra svåra bedömningar som ej är att beteckna som strikt juridiska, till exempel att avgöra vem som ?stod den avlidne särskilt nära?. I uppsatsen presenteras en arbetsmodell som utgår från de fyra kriterierna blodsband, hushållsgemenskap, tidsaspekt och förhållandet personerna emellan i övrigt.

The aim of this project is to optimise the sawing patterns used for sawing Scots pine at Säters Ångsåg AB. The thesis has a theoretical approach and does not claim to be fully applicable in a practical point of view. The input used in this project is last year?s sales volumes and prices of sawn products. The input of the timber is collected from the database ?VIOL?.

Completed durability testing of gearshift gaiters at Kongsberg Automotive in Mullsjö, is sometimes leading to discussions regarding whether or not a gaiter is supposed to be a pass or a fail. That is because the current pass/fail-criterion are a bit vague. A durability test takes around 4-5 weeks to complete which is a long time if the tested material does not pass the test and a new material has to be tested instead. Stricter pass/fail-criterions and a faster testing method for the materials are therefore desired.In order to develop a durable pass/fail criteria, seven already judged gaiters were chosen. Every one of the gaiters was put through detailed analysis, after which there were a new assessment of the gaiters.

Tillståndet består av ett dokument somvisar vilka vägar och broar fordonet får trafikera och vilka regler som gällernär man kör lastbilen.Skogsbolaget Sveaskog startade ett examensarbete med syfte att skapamöjlighet att i realtid presentera för lastbilsföraren vilka vägar och broarsom är en del av transportdispensen. Detta skulle ske genom att utveckla ettkartstöd för lastbilens fordonsdator med anslutning till GPS för attvisualisera dispensdokumentet med de angivna vägsträckorna och broarna.Resultatet av examensarbetet är ett kartstöd som använder tjänster frånArcGIS Online för att presentera geografisk information för användaren.Bakgrundskartan består av en grundkarta från ArcGIS Online. Övergrundkartan ligger ett GIS-skikt med vägar och ett annat skikt med broar.Information om huruvida fordonet för närvarande färdas på en väg somingår i tillståndet eller inte, samt information om regler som gäller för broarpå vägavsnittet, presenteras för föraren i realtid. I takt med konkurrensen ökar på marknaden väljer många sågverk att i allt högre utsträckning kundanpassa sin produktion mot de krav kunderna ställer på produkterna. Sågverkens produktion bör vara inriktad på att skapa ett så högt värdeutbyte som möjligt där virkets egenskaper och produktionsanläggningens förutsättningar ställs mot de kundönskemål som finns. (Lycken, 2000) I sågverkets justerverk sorteras trävarorna i olika sorteringsklasser, även kallat kvalitetsklasser, samt kapas i exakta längder. För att kunna skapa ett högt värdeutbyte krävs det kunskap dels om vilka av träets egenskaper som är avgörande för värdet med dagens sorteringssystem och dels en insikt i hur volym- och värdeandelar ser ut för olika produkter samt hur olika sorteringsregler styr värdeutbytet. Sedan början av år 2008 har Rörvik Timber Rörvik AB ett BoardMaster-system i sågverkets justerverk som använder färgkamerateknik för att värdeoptimera trävarorna. Examensarbetets syfte är att analysera värdeoptimeringen av trävarorna i justerverket vid sågverket i Rörvik.

At first glance, the group CEO's (koncernchefens) legal position looks easy. It is the CEO?s responsibility to lead and make decisions on matters which affect the entire group, all while defending the company?s best interests. However, when one looks closely at how the Companies Act (Aktiebolagslagen) regulates how a company should organize itself, as well as the options available to manage the group, one rea-lizes that simply appointing a group CEO does not necessarily make the company compatible with the Companies Act. A group CEO threatens to reduce both the Board and CEO's legal administrative districts which are not in accordance with legal and commercial principles.In order to introduce a group CEO it requires a detailed investigation of the group's legal relationships.
