This pilot study examined whether treatment with Vortex Process Technology (VPT) of the irrigation water used on tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) plants had any effect on plant growth. In a block experiment, with two blocks comprising 12 vases containing 1 L water and two tomato plantlets, treatment in which, nutrient solution was based on Vortex-treated water was compared with an control using untreated water. All vases were kept in a static aerated culture system in a daylight chamber for four weeks. The results showed that the effect of the two blocks exceeded the effect of vortex treatment in terms of leaf area and weight of fresh and dry matter. Plant height, stem width and internodal length were significantly different in tomato plants grown in Vortex-processed water compared with the untreated control.

Problemformulering: Hur viktig är känseln för en viss typ av produkt?Syftet för uppsatsen är att undersöka om, hur och varför känsel är viktig för just vinglas. Vi vill skapa en större förståelse för hur känseln kan påverkas med hjälp av övriga sinnen som syn och doft.Vi har använt oss utav en deduktiv ansats där vi testat hypoteser genom ett experiment. Resultaten som genererats från observationer, har framförallt sammanställts kvantitativt i SPSS men har även tills viss del skett kvalitativt.Utgångspunkten ligger i sinnesmarknadsföring som handlar om hur olika sinnen kan stimuleras för att skapa en ultimat sinnesupplevelse för kunden. Detta har sedan kombinerats med teorier om servicelandskap, kundens upplevelsevärld och konsumentbeteende.Våra resultat visar att känsel är avgörande vid köp av vinglas.

The purpose of my examination is contributing with knowledge about the relation between language- stimulation in preschool and read- and writes developing and teachers thought about that. In order to meet the purpose I read literature that deals with my matter and is based previous research. I also made qualitative interviews with three elementary school teachers and three preschool teachers who work within preschools that concentrate on development of language in a town in the middle of Sweden.  In this way I find out about their thoughts about what they think is important to work with about language in preschool and how the preschool teachers can work with the development of language to make it easier for the children in their read- and writes developing. The result shows that it is important to work with children?s development of language in preschool.

Horses are by nature herbivores, specialized on grass, and graze during the main part of the day. The horse has neither changed this basic behaviour nor the function of gastro-intestinal tract, when the horse was domesticated by man. A horse on pasture has an even production of saliva and gastric acids. The buffering effect of the saliva makes the pH in the stomach above four throughout most of the day. With abnormal long breaks of eating, the pH may decrease, causing an increased risk of gastric ulcer.

Denna studie hade som syfte att undersöka om olika heuristiker belastar en individs kognitiva resurser olika mycket, och om det därmed kräver olika mycket av de kognitiva resurserna. För att undersöka detta genomfördes ett experiment med en oberoende mätning, där deltagare fick genomföra ett antal produktval samt ett strooptest. Genom ett tillfällighetsurval värvades 149 deltagare som medverkade i experimentet med 50, 52 och 47 deltagare i tre olika betingelser. Data från 99 deltagare användes i denna uppsats då enbart två av de tre betingelserna användes i denna uppsats. Detta på grund av att studien är en del av en större studie som resulterade i fyra uppsatser, där olika aspekter av experimentet analyserades i var uppsats.

The aim of this thesis is to investigate the content in Swedish library weblogs. We want to examine what the posts contain, especially on the subject knowledge organization. Which themes do the weblogs have in common? How the weblog authors categorize their posts and how the readers use the comment function, are other questions we seek answers to in the thesis. We have performed content analysis where we created the code units during the process.

The purpose of this study was to find out what are the information needs of the nurses and if the hospital library can satisfy these needs, and see how the hospital library reaches the nurses with their information provision. The main questions are: what kinds of service exist at the hospital library? What kinds of needs have the nurses concerning the hospital library? How are the needs satisfied by the hospital library? What marketing strategies are used by the hospital library to reach out to the nurses? Is it enough to achieve the goal? The method in this study was a case study with the emphasis on the qualitative interviews. The study was conducted at the hospital library at Södra Älvsborgs Sjukhus in Borås. The interviews concerned the nurses views on the hospital library, information needs and marketing.

I detta arbete undersöks det hur en NoSQL-databas presterar jämfört med en relationsdatabas när kommunikation sker med en webbapplikation. Testning sker med hjälp av en PHP-applikation och Ajax för att simulera användningen av en webbapplikation. Den data som kommer lagras i databaserna kommer vara strukturerad och databaserna kommer vara på ett odistribuerat system. Metoden är teknikorienterade experiment men för framtida arbeten kan dessa tester utföras som en fallstudie för att ytterligare simulera en skarp användning av en webbapplikation.I detta arbete förklaras anledningen till framtagningen av NoSQL-databaser. Saker som diskussionen om att NoSQL kommer ta över platsen som de mest använda databaserna från relationsdatabaser tas också upp.

Syfte: Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka om formativ bedömning förbättrar lärandetFrågeställning: Finns det ett samband mellan uppgiftsrelaterad formativ bedömning och ökat lärande?Bakgrund: Tidigare forskning visar att det existerar en kontrovers huruvida formativ bedömning har en positiv effekt på lärande. Skolverket menar att mer forskning behöver göras inom den svenska kontexten. Att undersöka om formativ bedömning har en positiv effekt på lärandet kan således anses vara av vetenskaplig vikt.Metod: För att få ett svar på frågeställningen har ett experiment genomförts. Elever har vid två tillfällen fått genomföra ett test.

After W.W. II the Social democratic government wanted to modernize and rationalize the Swedish society. The university system was reformed[INS: :INS] to support growth of industry and science. But the reform did not reach Swedish academic library system and it was not well organized. The aim of this thesis is to analyze the reaction of the Swedish academic libraries to the new era in the framework of ideological criticism.

The essay?s purpose is to illustrate the topic of parental leave and the distribution of the domestic work in the households. Furthermore this essay aims to investigate the following questions:§ Which factors will be of importance while considering how to divide the parental leave?§ How do families with small children distribute the domestic work?§ What are the opinions regarding equal allocation of parental leave quotas in families with small children?We have used a quantitative method to gather our empirical data. Surveys were handed out to parents visiting six ?Öppna förskolan? in Örebro.

Denna explorativa studie ämnar generera en hypotes om ett potentiellt samband mellan ögonrörelsemönster och mentaliseringsyttranden. Frågor som ställs i studien är hur ett sådant samband ser ut och hur det skulle kunna mätas. Ett experiment designas där försöksdeltagarna får uppgiften att berätta en sammanhängande berättelse utifrån en serie bilder, såväl berättelsen som försöksdeltagarens ögonrörelsemönster spelas in. Data analyseras på flera sätt; ögonrörelsemönstret jämförs mellan försöksdeltagarna och mellan stimuli, dessutom utförs en närmare granskning av ögonrörelsemönstrens utseende just innan försöksdeltagaren använder ett mentaliseringsyttrande. Slutsatserna som dras i studien är att det finns ett flertal sätt att undersöka förhållandet mellan ögonrörelsemönster och mentaliseringsyttranden.

The present research examined both automatic and controlled processes in newpapers ability of priming racial stereotypes via the portrayals of people of foreign extraction. The automatic process were examined through articles which; a) involved an illegal act or b) the act was not illegal but morally questionable. Swedish-born subject?s explicit opinions against foreign people were also measured through ?The Modern Racial Prejudice Scale?. In the experiment participants read four different articles which included; Swedish person/noncrime, foreign person/noncrime, Swedish person/crime and foreign person/crime.

The purpose of the thesis is to increase the knowledge of the deregulation of the mobile telecom market in Sweden, with focus on the time after the Electronic Communications Act (EkomL), by: (1) Describing the thought behind the Electronic Communications Act. (2) Assess how the National Post and Telecom Agency (PTS) has acted. (3) Assess how the operators have reacted. (4) Investigate the regulation?s effects upon competition.

The purpose of this study is to find out how teachers in preschool interact with children.By unstructured observations of teachers in preschool I intend to find out how they interact with children. Is it possible to see that the operation is built on guided interaction speciality?Positive interaction between adults and children is of importance to a good childhood and a child?s learning. I have asked myself how teachers interact with children in preschool. There are different ways of interaction.
