The case about Thomas Quick and its associated news coverage has been used as an example to illustrate the problematization regarding media imag-es and media framing attempt. The purpose of this essay was to illuminate how daily and evening newspapers works with various framing methods.The theoretical framework for this essay will discuss the media framing theory and its ramification attribute framing theory. This laid the foundation for the research question.

Syftet med denna uppsats är att undersöka mediebilden av Sture Bergwall i svensktryckt press och hur eller om mediebilden förändrats mellan 90-talet och idag. De frågorsom ligger till grund för undersökningen är vilka huvudkällor som använts, om det finnsnågra särskilda ord som är signifikanta i beskrivningar av Bergwall samt hur andraaktörer i hans omgivning beskrivs. De metoder jag använder för att söka svar är dels enkvantitativ analys för att få statistik om vilka källor som används. Dels en diskursanalys,där jag har blandat Roger Fowlers och Teun A van Dijks teorier för att bäst kunnaapplicera metoden på mitt material.De sex artiklar som är undersökta genom diskursanalys är hämtade från DagensNyheter, Svenska Dagbladet, Expressen och Aftonbladet. De artiklar som är föremål fören mindre kvantitativ analys är hämtade från samma tidningar, från perioderna 1998-01-01 till 1999-12-31 samt 2009-01-01 till 2010-01-31.De teorietiska ramarna för uppsatsen är både mer allmän teori om det journalistiskauppdraget och mer specifik teori om brott i medier samt moralpanik.Resultatet visade att det finns stora skillnader i hur Bergwall framställs under de bådatidsperioderna.

This essay describes the philosophy of science that Thomas Kuhn puts forth in his work The Structure of Scientific Revolutions. The question is, does his description of the scientific paradigm work as well today as in the examples he gave in the book?The conclusion is that there are certain factors that make for a number of differences between science today and, for example in the seventeenth century. There is also a growing theory or vision of a post normal science laid developed by among others Jerome Ravetz. Quick Response eller QR är en teknik som tillåter snabb och pålitlig optisk läsning av information som är kodad i ett rutmönster. Som läsverktyg kan man använda läsare som är speciellt tillverkade för ändamålet och numera också vanliga smartphones. Tekniken har i flera år varit framgångsrik i vissa industriella applikationer såsom lagerhållning, men det är fortfarande osäkert i vilken utsträckning den också kan vinna insteg i vardagligt användande av smartphones. Vi har genomfört en enkätundersökning bland universitetsstudenter för att uppskatta hur spridd användningen av QR-koder är och hur denna användning ser ut. För att analysera resultatet har vi använt oss av teorin om diffusion of innovations som tillhandahåller en modell för spridning av ny teknik inom ett sammanhang.

This academic essay explores the possibilities to knowledge of God in the thought of Thomas Aquinas. The essay takes its departure from question 12 in the Summa Theologiae, specifically articles 12 and 13 that deal with natural knowledge of God and supernatural knowledge, respectively. It also presents objections made by modern philosophers against these ways of knowledge along with a rebuttal of these objections. Lastly, a conclusion is offered and ends with a reflection on how Aquinas' teaching on human knowledge of God in earthly existence compares with his teaching on the knowledge human beings will have in heaven and what consequences that has for our present knowledge..

This study departs in a critique issued against the ethics of deconstruction that it does not provide good enough advice for how to turn its ehtics into "real life"-actions. Taking up the concept of moral practices as found in e.g. Alisdain MacIntyre, Stanley Hauerwas, James K.A. Smith, and Roland Spjuth, this study turns to medieval theologian Thomas Aquinas as a potential resource. Combining the teachings in Aquinas' Summa Thologica with a look into his life as a Domninican, a list of moral practices is put forth and analyzed in conjunction with Derrida's ethics.

This thesis is based upon the work done at Westinghouse electric company (WEC)inVästerås during the spring semester of 2015 and describes the development of a quickcoupler with associated blade changing tool. These are meant to be used togetherwith a sawing tool that the company uses for the dismantling of nuclear reactors,which is performed under water.The aim of the thesis was to develop a complete manufacturing documentation withdrawings and related CAD models which Westinghouse later can use to manufacturethe tool and the quick coupler. It was also included in the assignment to, if necessary,modify parts of the saw tool to adapt these to the intended blade changing tool.A number of visits to the company's workshop was made during the time to study thesaw that the thesis is based upon. The purpose of these visits was to get a better ideaof the dimensions, construction and the field of use of the saw. On three of thoseoccasions various engineers and consultants accompanied us to discuss possibleproblems with different ideas.This was interspersed with information in the form of literature studies on quickcouplers to create a clearer picture of the nature of the task.When enough information had been gathered a functional analysis was made to dividethe main problem into subthis phase the idea and concept generating process took place.The methods used for this was mainly brain writing and brainstorming.

Jag har undersökt hur Thomas av Aquino ser på den växande processen hos en person som studerar inspirerad skrift. Jag har även studerat vad målet är med att studera teologi, och Aquinos syn på sanning, kärlek och att uppnå full potential som människa. I uppsatsen har jag utgått ifrån en teori, dels framställd av teologen Mark A. McIntosh i boken Divine Teaching.

The project Easy Battery Handling - EBH has been carried out in our auspicial and completedfor Devantini Corporation, a development company in Halmstad with its main concern inenvironmental friendly innovations.EBH has solved one of many technical challenges in one of Devantini corporation?s largerprojects. This main project involves the development of an electric powered formula racingcar. The part of this car that involved EBH was the battery handling to guarantee safe andquick battery exchanges during pit-stops.The solution became an entire battery module, hanging on the side of the car on two spearspointing out from the car. The batteries are exchanged by a specially designed trolley that isinserted under the battery module.

The purpose of this study was to examine the relation between the Big Five personality traits Extraversion, Agreeableness and Neuroticism and the five conflict styles developed by Thomas-Kilmann: Accommodating, Avoiding, Compromising, Collaborating and Competing. The participants consisted of 128 students of the Linnaeus University in Växjö. A questionnaire consisting of two parts were used for this study: Part one consist of a personality-test developed from Lewis R. Goldberg?s Big-five scale, and part two where the participant is asked to fill out Thomas-Kilmanns conflict style test.

In this study, religiosity in prison is investigated. What opportunities are there for those detained to practice their religion and how did their religiosity change after they were detained? Six interviews were conducted to gain a better perspective of religiosity in prison. The focus is on Correctional Institution in Kalmar, where surveys have been conducted over a longer period but also the monastery at the Correctional facility in Kumla is discussed. Most interviews were conducted in the prison of Kalmar, in a room where religious conversations are conducted.

With a background in the 17th century?s English political events, but also the ideological scene of that time, the purpose of this essay is to analyze two concepts, freedom and happiness, in Thomas Hobbes?s political writings. Hobbes is well known for his political works, mostly for Leviathan, where his thoughts about government and religion are exposed. But what does he say about freedom? And what about happiness? The study shows that Hobbes?s political thought is quite original from this aspect too.

Syftet med studien var att undersöka aktivitetsförmåga, symtom, smärta och tillfredställelse samt sambandet mellan aktivitetsförmågan, gipstid och antalet behandlingstillfällen hos arbetsterapeut efter tumbasartroplastik 1 till 2 år efter operation och efterföljande rehabilitering. Till samtliga patienter (n = 80) som opererades från jan 2008 till mars 2009 skickades självskattningsinstrumentet, hälsoenkäten Quick DASH samt ett frågeformulär gällande om man var tillfredställd/ nöjd med operationen. Hälsoenkäten belyser dimensioner av hälsorelaterad livskvalité och kan vara till god hjälp i det kliniska arbetet. Svarsfrekvensen i studien var 91 % och 86 % av patienterna svarade att man var nöjd med operationen. Quick DASH score räknades ut (n = 67) till medianvärde på 11,4 poäng .

En kvantitativ studie har gjorts för att undersöka skillnader i konfliktstil enligt Thomas och Kilmanns-Conflict Mode Instrument (TKI) samt arbetskontrollokus mellan personal på olika organisationsnivåer. Det undersöktes även om det fanns skillnader mellan könen och om äldre respondenter hade högre inre arbetskontrollokus än yngre respondenter. 99 personer deltog i studien, varav 74 var tjänstemän och 24 var underställda. Respondenterna besvarade en enkät baserad på de teorier som låg till grund för studien, Thomas och Kilmanns-Conflict Mode samt Spectors teori om arbetskontrollokus. Resultatet visade att chefer var mer självhävdande i sin konfliktstil än underställda och män var mer konkurrerande i sin konfliktstil än kvinnor.
