Background: HIV is a worldwide spread disease with many deaths. People with the disease have previously been met with attitudes, stigma and discrimination in various contexts. A caring relationship should be built on empathy, respect and communication, where the patient is not seen as their illness, but as a person. Today, there are laws that are there to protect the patient, however, there is a lack of knowledge about what is current. Health care workers knowledge in the 2000s has improved, but there is still a lack of knowledge.Aim: To illustrate how patients with HIV experience health care.Method: The literature review was conducted with twelve scientific articles of which two articles were quantitative and the other qualitative.Results: The results revealed three main Themes; Different expressions of fear, Perceived negative attitudes and stigmatization, as well as The wish to be lovingly treated in health care.

AbstractThe purpose of this study were to examine the appeal that reaches the county administrative court regarding cases within The law of support and service to some disabled (LSS) the third "alternative" with the effort personal assistant. We have gathered 280 cases from seven different county administrative court and from our selection 19 of the cases remained.These 19 cases became our starting point for our study and they have been interpreted through Foucault´s and Skau´s interpretation frame regarding power and Payne´s social constructivism to try and answer our three questions at issue: How are the cases being handled by the county administrative court? What kind of cases leads to appeal? What similarity and differences are there between the cases? These questions have been answered one by one in a systematical order. Our result shows, among other things, that cases that involve certificates from occupational therapist or physiotherapist are the cases that win against the municipality in the county administrative court. Further we have found a new Theme in our study regarding clientification among them who apply for efforts within LSS and "alternative" three.

In this project I have worked with creating a new kind of room in a hospital enviroment for children. The main purpose of the project has been to form a secure and positive experience for the patient while visiting a specific room at the department of childrens physiologi, at Drottning Silvias Children- and youth hospital in Gothenburg.The project was based on questions like how it is possible to move the focus from the unsecure and scary, to something secure and positive, when the patient is going through an testing situation.The target gruop included a wide age span (0-16 years old), therefore I have worked with a Theme, H2O, that works for diffrent ages. In the room, I have applicated the Theme in different levels that is changeable depending on the age of the patient.During the project I have presented my ideas for the staff at the hospital. We have discussed their problems, what they wish in their working enviroment and how they experience the situation for the patients. I have also asked the patients how they experience the specific room today.The result of the project is a visual idea of how you can create a room, that you don?t exepect to find in a hospital..

The aim of this thesis is to describe the thoughts and attitudes that parents have regarding reading aloud. In today?s society the positive effects of reading aloud are often pointed at and in the perspective of the new learning theories I found the issue even more interesting.The two main questions posed are: How do the parents describe the practice of reading aloud?Is the parents? life situation and background visible in their descriptions and in that case how does it show in their thoughts about reading aloud?The theoretical perspective of the thesis is sociocultural and can be divided into two Themes. The first Theme concerns the learning process that can be the result of reading aloud and the second Theme focuses on social aspects. The results of the study show that parents think that reading aloud is valuable and positive.

The purpose of this essay is to examine if the municipality has a real freedom of action to control the use of the land and the shaping of the buildings in a large and prestigious building project.In Karlstad there is now (2006) a large building project in form of a shopping mall. This project is in its final stage of completion and offers me a suitable case to examine. To undertake the purpose of the essay, the following research question is formulated:Do the municipality have a real freedom of action to control the use of the land and the shaping of the buildings in a large and prestigious building project as the Mitt I City project?In an attempt to examine the project and the planning process, three Themes are applied. The first Theme derives from the hypothesis that the part that initiate the process gets the upper hand as future discussions are taking place in relation to the original ideas.

A numerical simulation case involving space plasma and the evolution of instabilities that generates very fast electrons, i.e. approximately at half of the speed of light, is used as a test bed for scientific visualisation techniques. A visualisation system was developed to provide interactive real-time animation and visualisation of the simulation results. The work focuses on two Themes and the integration of them. The first Theme is the storage and management of the large data sets produced.

The purpose of this study is to examine the Swedish national student organizations attitudes towards school food and the school food debate between 1957-1982. The previous research on the subject maps the historical background and development of the school meal, but lacks a contemporary student perspective from the chosen time period, not least on a deeper and more political level. The theoretical starting points in the study concern organizations and their influence on public authorities as well as student influence. These theoretical frameworks are used to describe the conditions for the currently active national student organizations; Elevf?rbundet and SECO, in the political arena.

This essay discusses the use of history, and primarily how the current Swedish society perceives and uses the Viking age. The analysis is based on a literature study as well as a case study of the planned Theme park in Fullerö north of Uppsala, Sweden. The aim of the essay is to understand the regional debate which arose in media regarding the planning of Fullerö Park and how it reflects the contemporary use of history. Research about the use of history has become increasingly common in recent years and deals with how history is actively being used in society in order to meet its existing needs. These needs varies among different groups and individuals and results in a multitude of usages, where the interests of the different actors may be contradictory.

I den här uppsatsen har jag analyserat tre tidningsartiklar från herrtidningen Moore, och tre tidningsartiklar från tjejtidningen Solo. Jag har analyserat en artikel i varje nummer, så totalt har jag använt sex tidningar. Utöver artiklarna har jag också analyserat två av tidningarnas omslag. Efter analyserna har jag gjort jämförelser mellan de båda tidningarnas artiklar och omslag för att se om det går att påvisa några skillnader, men även likheter.     Min avsikt med att göra det här var att bevisa vetenskapligt att skillnader finns i tidningarnas informationsdesign, alltså deras bilder, texter och layout. Jag har analyserat artiklarna efter en ganska strikt modell, men även tagit mig friheten att välja bort eller lägga till vissa element i modellen beroende på vilken sorts artikel jag analyserat.

With self-hypnosis as a method, I work with levels of consciousness in relation to practice. Focus lies in the relation between a language of materials and an inner experience. How do material expressions function as mediums of a spiritual matter between a beholder and me? The trance functions as a space for a spiritual contact/communication. Abstract images of crystalline glaze on ceramic tiles are direct results of these acts.

The aim with the project was to portray something to step on. Its purpose has been to experiment and explore the interaction between pattern, structure, material and colour for something to be applied on a floor. Focus has been on esthetic expression and not the creation of some¬thing for a specific environment or audience. My goal was also that this project would illustrate the importance of the floor to create a certain atmosphere in a room.The project was divided into three phases. The first one was the experimenting and exploring phase, where the goal was to find an expression.

The overall aim of this study is to clarify the situation in school for children with language disorder from the parents? perspective.Data were collected through five interviews with parents who have children of different ages and with various diagnosis within the language disorder spectra. A qualitative method based on a narrative inquiry was used and each interview was based on a interview guide with the following Themes: the child?s difficulties, starting school, the school?s pedagogy, homework, action plans, participation and the future.Each story has its own Themes, but there are also Themes that are common in all interviews. One common Theme in the parents? stories is that school has a lack of knowledge when it comes to language disorder.

AbstractBackground: Cancer is a leading cause of death worldwide and accounted for 7.6 million deaths, about 13% of all deaths, in 2008. Several factors can affect patients' quality of life such as physical and psychological symptoms, relationship to people around and the environment. In palliative care professionals need to have good knowledge in order to improve patient quality of life and to give them as good a life as possible in the final stages of life.Aim: The purpose of this overview study is to describe the experiences of quality of life in patients with incurable cancer.Method: We conducted an overview study that was based on ten scientific articles. All articles are qualitative studies, from the year 1995 - 2011, and are from Sweden, Finland, UK, Canada and the USA. Qualitative analysis was used to group the various Themes and subThemes for overview study purpose.

This essay is a study of the portrayal of the Theme of alienation in Eugene Ionesco's novel The hermit. In my study I examine the different ways in which the Theme of alienation is portrayed and how the cause of the narrator's experience of alienation can be found in ideological, psychological and existential conflicts that the narrator has to face. The result is an experience of das unheimliche, a Freudian concept, which is a kind of uncanny detachment that the narrator experiences, when he is put up against an invisible force that lurks in the perifery of the world, which is portrayed in the story. The meaning of the ideological conflict is a portrayal of man's situation in a world that is ruled by capitalism, with marxism as a positive leveler and the meaning of the psychological conflict is a conflict in the narrator's own inner reality. The meaning of the existential conflict is a portrayal of man's situation in a world absent of God.

The purpose of this study is to examine how EU-migrants visiting the social project Crossroads experience their life situation in the Swedish society. Two questions were formulated: (1) How do the respondents describe their situation when it comes to work, housing and social network? (2) How do the interviewees describe and experience the social project Crossroads? The method used was qualitative interviews conducted with five EU-migrants who visited Crossroads. The theoretical framework is the concept of integration and Bauböcks (1996) theoretical model of the ideal society. The results show that none of the interviewees had their own accommodation.
