The paper evaluates two housing proposals with Space syntax as method. The proposals are very different in a topological sense but are in a configural sense almost the same. This effect is because both proposals connect themselves to the existing configural structure of the city in the same way. Neither of them takes advantages of the most integrated streets in the existing structure and use them to concentrate pedestrian and car flows to the streets or points which are intended to be the most urban areas. The knowledge of Space syntax and this evaluation puts focus on the pour understanding among architects and planners of what effect urban design proposals will have..

Acute bacterial prostatitis is a common disease in older male dogs. It gives symptoms such as fever, pain, tiredness, infertility, unwillingness to mate and sometimes symptoms from the urinary tract. It is common that you do an ultrasound exam on dogs when you suspect prostatic changes. In this study 15 dogs diagnosed with acute prostatitis at the small animal clinic at SLU in Uppsala were examined. The clinical signs and the ultrasound pictures were put together in retrospect.

This thesis is a study over changes and similarities of people's activities in Berzelii park, with focus on the second half of the 19th century and present time. As one of the oldest public parks in Stockholm, Berzelii park has been a place for outdoor activity for more than a hundred years. During that time both the park and the society have undergone changes, but people are still using this green area in the city centre in a similar way as generations before have done. It is still a place for social gathering and during the summer month the park invite for optional and social activities such as a pause in the sun and pic-nic with friends. This work aims to obtain information on diurnal variations of aerosol concentrations in thecity of Lund (Sweden) and trying to locate the origin of the aerosols long distance transports.The study shows that the aerosol concentrations varied quit strongly over the entiremeasurement period, reflecting air masses of different degrees of pollution, mainly as a resultof the diurnal rhythm of the traffics. Trajectories reveals that air masses originated inSoutheastern and Eastern Europe contains higher aerosol concentrations compared to other airmasses..

Lidingö kommun ligger i Stockholms län, 15 minuter från Stockholm City och en knapp km från fastlandet. Lidingö har under ca 100 år utvecklats från jordbrukssamhälle till en modern villastad. Detta har skett med stort inflytande från enskilda personer och skeenden. Tyngden i arbetet ligger på att förklara hur enskilda individer och skeenden kan skapa utveckling och stark, framtida struktur. Tyngd ligger också i att förklara dåvarande befolknings tankar, handlingar och viljor samt att koppla dessa med utvecklingen och den nutida strukturen och uppbyggnaden.

Att ha automatiserat grundläggande additionskombinationer i talområdet 0-20 kan underlätta elevers vidare matematikutveckling. I detta utvecklingsarbete undersöktes om ett interventionsprogram bestående av strategidiskussioner, kombinationsträning samt minuttest i årskurs 7 var effektivare än enbart minuttest. Vidare analyserades om ökad säkerhet med additionskombinationerna 0-20 ledde till en generalisering till addition inom talområdet 20-99 samt till subtraktionskombinationer inom talområdet 0-20.En mixed ANOVA med enkla kontraster genomfördes och resultatet visade att interventionsgruppen utvecklades något bättre än jämförelsegruppen under interventionsperioden fram till eftertestet i addition 0-20 men det fanns ingen statistiskt signifikant skillnad mellan grupperna för hela testperioden. Generalisering skedde till addition 20-99 för båda grupperna men interventionsgruppen utvecklades bättre än jämförelsegruppen i subtraktion 0-20. En slutsats är att det är en fördel för eleverna att bli säkrare på de grundläggande additionskombinationerna då de även blir säkrare på addition inom talområdet 20-99 och med träning även säkrare på subtraktion inom talområdet 0-20.

This paper, called Pupils' practice of source criticism on the Internet, is investigating pupils? use of source criticism. The main research question was: how much knowledge pupils from an upper secondary class have about the use of source criticism, regarding examining data from the Internet intended for assignments. Furthermore, developing a suitable method to investigate this was included. The main research question led to further sub questions that aimed to answer to what extent pupils consider source critique criteria as sender, aim, up-to-dateness, credibility and dependence.The study has been conducted by using mixed methods, both qualitative and quantitative methods.

The aim in this project was to spread play in the city and acrossgenerations. My way of approaching this challenge was to explore theborderland between playground equipment and street furniture. Thisopened up many possibilities to afford play in places where playgroundequipment often is excluded.The goal was to create one, or more, furniture with play value. The targetgroup was all vivasious people spending time in the public outdoorspace. Through user studies, a lot of serious playing and a lot of testing,the project resulted in a bench called Rollin´.

The purpose with this degree thesis was to investigate the preschool teacher´s view onchildrens´s influence in preschool routine situations. The target group for this study ispreschool teacher´s that currently are working with children that are 1 ? 5 years of age. To manage to answer the aim of this study semi-structured interviews were conducted. I have performed interviews with five preschool teacher´s that currently work in a preschool that is situated in a medium sized city, in the county Värmland, Sweden.

Bakgrund: Hög arbetsbelastning hos omvårdnadspersonal är ett problem både i Sverige och internationellt. En ökad förståelse av hur arbetsbelastning påverkar patientsäkerheten krävs för att förebygga fler vårdskador inom vården. Syfte: att belysa vilka faktorer som skapar arbetsbelastning hos omvårdnadspersonal och dess betydelse för patientsäkerhet. Metod: Litteraturöversikt där studier som undersöker arbetsbelastningens påverkan på patientsäkerhet granskades. 15 studier valdes ut via Pubmed, Psycinfo och Cinahl, där 11 var kvantitativa, två var kvalitativa och två var av mixed design.  Resultat: Faktorer av betydelse för arbetsbelastningen som hade ett samband med patientsäkerheten var ?stressrelaterade situationer?, ?antal patienter i förhållande till personal?, ?antal arbetspass och längd? och ?personals erfarenheter?.

Ten years ago the public computers with Internet access were introduced in the public libraries. The purpose of the public computers was to give the possibility of searching information. Along with the Internet came also communication media like chat and e-mail. This type of communication was a new function for the libraries and the reactions among the librarians were mixed. It has been a source of big frustration and attempts to block it has not succeeded.

A change of generations occurs several times during a company?s lifetime. It is a process that requires planning and time. Papers has the ability to disappear, a blog collects all in one place. Today, almost everything is digitized.This study has examined what a blog is and how schools and preschools can use it. The blog is used as a communication site for the preschools and school. This exam graduate work is made of three blog analysis, the analysis is made to see if the blogs can help the preschool and school to communicate wiht the parents.The theory I have decided to use in this study is the sociocultural theory.

Traditionally, rolling mills use emulsions based on a mixture of oil and water for lubrication. Since two years ago SAPA has been using (instead of oil) a synthetic lubricant so called conditional emulsion for hot-rolling of aluminum. This lubricant is water based and homogenous at ambient temperature, but switches to a two-phase system at heating above the cloud point.This project aims to validate and if necessary modify an existing HPLC method for quantifying two out of three key components (A, B and C) in the conditional emulsion. Attempts to develop a method to quantify the pH adjusting components, X and Y were also made. These two methods are required to optimize the lubricant.Due to the complexity of the components, it has been difficult to present a method for quantification, and HPLC with ELS detection was chosen after a long series of trials.
