I denna uppsats har vi undersökt hur man kan värdera en Internet-community. Vi har genomfört intervjuer med tre fallföretag, Glife, Lunarstorm samt Stallet.se. Utfrån dessa intervjuer samt den analys vi gjort har vi utformat en möjlig värderingsmodell för Internet-communities..

FN - i mäktiga staters tjänst En studie av hur FN påverkas av mäktiga stater

The United Nations is an important organization when it comes to international peace and security. Recent events in international politics, however, have brought about a widespread concern about the abilities of the organization. Powerful states have shosen to act outside of the organization to achieve their goals. They have furthermore a disproportionate influence on the decision-making body, the Security Council.The aim of this essay is to examine wheather UN can function productively as keeper of the international peace and security in the political climate of today, and to find out to what extent the powerful states harm the organization. I use a theoretical article, concerning states relations to international organisations, to analyse the acts of powerful states in UN.

This study examines the closure of public libraries, and the nonprofit organizations takeover of them as a phenomenon. The aim is to understand why the nonprofit takeover is common and what the takeover symbolizes and if the discourse in media invokes the views on libraries and the profession.Interviews were made with librarians, politicians and representatives of a nonprofit organization to study different sides of the phenomenon. Other empirical data were found in local and national newspapers and media-channels. I discovered that public libraries are highly valued by both politicians and the community. The study also showed that a library in a community makes people feel valued.

Gruppdynamik och social gemenskap inom fallskärmssporten : ett elevperspektiv

The aim of this study has been to examine what students within the sport of skydiving think about their education and the social spirit of the community. The purpose of the study is thereby to answer the study's aim through the following questions; how does group dynamics and social solidarity work within the skydiving community, how do the students feel about group dynamics and social solidarity within the skydiving community, and what factors makes the students feel included or respectively excluded from the spirit of the togetherness?The theoretical part of the study focuses on group dynamics and groups overall. Further on earlier research within adventure sports and skydiving regarding group dynamics and community spirit is presented. My survey is based on 35 interviews with skydiving students.The result shows that the community spirit within skydiving sports is described by the students as very special, unique, and strong among the members.

Föreställd o-gemenskap : Hur svensk press porträtterade frihetskampen i Tunisien och Ungern 1955 och 1956

This essay is called Imaginary non-community, How Swedish press portrayed the fight for freedom in Tunisia and Hungary 1955 and 1956 and it describes how two similar struggles for freedom are portrayed through the eyes of the most popular Swedish news papers Dagens Nyheter, Aftonbladet and Expressen. In 1955-56 Sweden is a country where the focus lies within the nation itself with economic growth and the building of folkhemmet. The Swedish social program for a more improved living condition. Outside of Sweden the cold war is reigning and the Swedish international politics is careful and passive. The fear of communism makes Sweden side with the western powers and therefore they (Swedish politicians and news papers) do not object to the French military effort to strike down the rebellions by force in North Africa.

Att hjälpa andra trots risk : motivationen i det internationella biståndsarbetet

The purpose of this study is to examine what motivates people to help others at risk to themselves. The focus is on international aid workers, which in their work put themselves in situations of risk. Earlier research shows that international aid work involves risks such as infectious diseases, violence, death threats, assaults, constant insecurity and risk to be traumatized etc. There is not much research done on what motivates to help others in spite of risks, hence we find this an interesting area. We have interviewed six respondents about the content and character of their motivation and factors that are important for the maintenance and development of this motivation.

The theory of ?security communities? is generally understood as ?dependable expectations of peaceful change? between groups and whether or not the African Union can be said to meet that criteria has been contested in the research community. One of the central disagreements lie in the nature of the region?s conflicts, of which a majority are intrastate but with tendencies of transnational involvement. This paper seeks to understand how extensive this involvement is and how it affects the possibility of classifying the African Union as a security community.

The investigation was a pilot study and may be used in the clinic.The international form ?International Outcome Inventory for Hearing Aids? (IOI-HA) was used for data collection. ?Fred är inte breaking news? : En kvalitativ fältstudie av fredsjournalistik i norra Uganda

AbstractDenna uppsats handlar om hur community radiostationerna Mega FM och Radio Wa i norra Uganda arbetar med fredsjournalistik. Syftet med uppsatsen är att öka förståelsen för relationen mellan community radio och fredsjournalistik. Det är inte bara relevant för journalistikvetenskapen, utan även för alla som är intresserade av utveckling och freds- och säkerhetsfrågor i konfliktområden.  Hur ser det fredsjournalistiska arbetet ut i praktiken på community radiostationerna Mega FM och Radio Wa? Vilka förutsättningar är nödvändiga, enligt Mega FM och Radio Wa, för att skapa ett generellt freds- och försoningsrelaterat radioprogram? Vilka svårigheter finns för att lyckas genomföra ett fredsjournalistiskt arbete, enligt Mega FM och Radio Wa? Frågeställningarna har besvarats genom kvalitativa informantintervjuer med radiojournalister i Gulu och Lira, och observationer. Det teoretiska ramverket inkluderar fredsforskning, utvecklingskommunikation, deltagande kommunikation, teorier om community radio och fredsjournalistik.
