Ibn Khaldun om Banu Umayya : Historieskrivningen om det umayyadiska kalifatet och dess återgivelse i al-Muqaddima
The history of Banu Umayya has since the collapse of the caliphate occupied a major part in Islamic historiography. The present thesis analyses the presentation of the Umayyads in Ibn Khaldun?s al-Muqaddima and its relation to previous historical traditions. The thesis examines the social and intellectual context in which Ibn Khaldun stood and how it is represented in his historiography, while also providing an overview of the various socio-political, intellectual and historiographical developments in Islam. The theoretical perspectives are based on the concept of agency, examining the intellectual room for manoeuvre that the historian disposed of while composing the works.

Agent Provokation - En studie kring avsändarens påverkan på provokativ reklam
Even though provocative marketing is a widely used tool among companies to distin-guish themselves from the crowd and catch the attention of consumers, there are several variables that remain relatively unexplored. This paper aims to investigate what impact the brand has on how provocative advertising is perceived and how it affects attitudes and behavior. An experiment was conducted where several well-established measures of ad effectiveness such as brand attitude, buying intentions and word-of-mouth intentions were used to analyze the effects of brand knowledge. The results show that a provocative advert lowers attitude and buying inten-tions for the established brand while it remains unchanged for the unestablished brand. This implicates bigger freedom for unestablished brands to elaborate with provocative elements in their marketing.

Archives can tell us many things about the past. The purpose of this guide is to facilitate the work of those who want to know more about the documents associated with death sentences. The guide gives a brief introduction to the history of the death penalty in Swedish legal history, to the legal process and to the judicial authorities. It also adresses the relationship between the various bodies and the relationship between law and jurisprudence. The guide presents primarily the archives of Nedre justitierevisionen and of Svea hovrätt.
Den planerade undervisningen om det finska kriget : En studie av hur gymnasielärare i Västerbotten och Österbotten planerar att undervisa om det finska kriget 1808-09
This study examines how upper secondary school teachers in Västerbotten and Österbotten plan to teach about the Finnish War 1808-09. The study includes written interviews with nine teachers in Västerbotten and eight teachers in Österbotten, who have answered questions concerning school policy documents, content and didactic methods. The purpose has been to examine whether there is a difference in historical culture in how the war is treated in the two regions. Historical culture is here meant within the prospective history lesson, where the pupils encounter history within certain boundaries.The result of the interview study shows that there are differences in structure concerning the school policy documents, but that these differences on the whole are compensated by the widespread interest in the Finnish War by the teachers in both regions. The differences in historical culture can be found within the construction of the content when it comes to the aftermaths of the war as well as the purpose of the teaching.

AbstractThis thesis discusses and analyses a 19th century female author's vanishing from history. The study investigates social relationships as figured and described in the epistolary form, based on letters between the author herself and different members of her family. It also tries to identify the author's position and situation in her time and society according to important themes and motifs in her novels. The main purpose is not to reconstruct history, but rather to show the many complex histories that can also be described, apart from the simplified and generalized one. The Swedish real estate market has experienced an intense increase of demand during the last ten years. Thus, people regularly visit real estate websites, as well as home improvement and interior design have become extremely popular. However, the Swedish real estate agencies still have not developed a theoretical framework on how to most effectively market the properties. The main purpose of this study was to investigate how interior in apartment advertising affects the buyer's interest in the apartment, and furthermore to start building a framework for how to effectively use interior as a marketing tool. The study connects theory regarding social identity, advertising effectiveness and product personality in order to investigate consumer behaviour in the real estate market.

Eslöv received its city privileges in the year 1911 and to celebrate the city?s 100th jubilee it has been decided, among many other things, to reinvigorate the City park. This master thesis presents a new proposal for the design of the City park. As a basis for the new proposal a study of the public park is made in a social and structural context as well as a study of the history of the Eslöv City park. The history of the Eslöv City park is somewhat unclear, especially if there has ever been a one design for the whole park?
To create a picture of the public park in general, a study of literature has been made and to describe the history of the City park I Have researched the city archive in Eslöv.
Medeltidsstadens början
In this paper I have tried to find out the reason the medieval town of Vä was created. I have studied several different areas in witch all, in one way or another, have had an effect on the making of Vä. This areas includes topography, iron production, mill handling, religious effects, royal affliction and also if the name Vä could tell something about Väs history as a religious cult. I have also looked at two other places not far from Vä, the medieval harbour town Åhus and the big village of Fjälkinge. By comparing these three places I tried to find out what Vä had that the other places did not, which made Vä turn in to a town.
"Det är mest om Norden, för det var ju där allt hände" : Elevers identitetsskapande i den svenska skolans historieundervisning
Det västerländska och nordiska samhällets historia och värderingar präglar kursplanen, och därmed undervisningen, för ämnet historia i årskurs 4?6. Med tanke på att det i dagens klassrum finns elever med olika kulturella bakgrunder, har studiens syfte varit att undersöka hur elever uttrycker att deras identitet påverkas genom denna historieundervisning. Den teori som inspirerat studien är hermeneutisk fenomenologi. Genom fokusgruppsintervjuer, där arton elever deltagit, har det visat sig att historia som är kopplat till elevens egen bakgrund kan vara av betydelse för elevers identitetsutveckling.

Hence, we find it of great interest and importance to examine these seven commercials in order to look for tendencies, strategies and trends within the material. Methodology: The survey is based upon two qualitative analyses, a rhetorical analysis and a semiotic analysis.
